I'm appalled by what Trump and Vance said, and that part of the meeting should never have been public. If you're going to argue, do it in private.

@IgotjellyDetonating a tactical nuclear weapon offers no benefit to Putin, and would carry significant risks. China has also been very clear that Putin should not do this.

Remember: the televised punishment & humiliation meted out to Zelensky just now could be done to any NATO ally facing similar aggression. The sense of sneering hostility & contempt by Trump & Vance isn’t specific to Ukraine.

A ceasefire/frozen conflict is a terrible outcome and it's the one trump has now made inevitable and pushed for. Expect Russian reconsolidating and a flare up of the war in the next 3-5 years that is more devastating. I'm disgusted
