If you don't have children what have you done this weekend?

Just curious really - my dc are autistic so we spend a lot of time in the house and these 4 walls can feel quite confining.

Indulge me and let me live vicariously through you -what have you been doing this weekend?

Even if you think it's not exciting. Other people's day to day lives are fascinating!

I watched all four Bridget Jones movies and posted some VINTED parcels. Did the house work and am now watching call the midwife. Left over Chinese takeaway for tea. Probably not what you are looking for. My partner is autistic and getting him out is hard. Although going to the corner shop was my first time out since last Monday too

iamnotalemon · 16/02/2025 17:09

Haha, my life isn't exciting by any means.

Yesterday I spent it running errands and cleaning and today I'll probably sit by the pool with a book.

I like being at home but I know it's still different when you have children to look after x

Loveduppenguin · 16/02/2025 17:10

I do have children but as I am separated I have them 50:50. This weekend they are with their dad. I drove to my boyfriends after work on Friday and walked into dinner on the table, and lovely valentines flowers and a card. I had a gift for him too obviously. We then watched a bit of tv and went to bed at 9 where I fell asleep instantly and woke up at 7. I chilled in bed, he brought me a cup of tea and he went and did his morning workout. We then spent the day chilling, called into his parents for an hour or so and then came home and got dressed and went out for a late valentines meal. Got home and went to bed. Slept until 7.45. We got up got showered etc, went and did a bit of food shopping for todays dinner and for his bits for during the week. We went for a coffee and a little drive. Came back and have been chilling all day since, had a little cheeky nap too. We have just put the dinner on.

I have 2 DC but one went off to their pals on Friday and didn't come back until this morning and the other went to a Scout camp on Friday late afternoon. DH was working a 12 hour day shift Saturday.

So over the two days I have been to the gym, went out for brunch with DH today, did loads of laundry, tidied the house and binge watched The Night Agent. It's been lovely.

BuddhaAtSea · 16/02/2025 17:14

Did two classes at the gym yesterday, walked the dog several times, had a nap, tidied the place and hoovered it, and then went on to do a night shift.
Today I got up around midday, went for a long walk with the dog, put some washing on, had a bath, I’m about to eat something and then I’m on a night shift again.
Tomorrow I won’t really be getting out of bed much, I planned to cook, hydrate as much as I can, and when I feel sleepy, I’ll take the dog for a walk, so I can sleep at night and start making sense (sort of) again.

TheDandyLion · 16/02/2025 17:14

Yesterday went to the garden centre and picked up some primroses and couple bags of compost. Went for a run in the afternoon then a long soak in the bath. Read a book in the evening.

This morning I was a few chores around the house and this afternoon did the big food shop. I'll make dinner then watch some TV.

TheDrunkenClam · 16/02/2025 17:15

I sorted my bedroom out yesterday - got rid of two bin bags full of clothes to charity shop, sorted out knickers, socks and bras into those drawer organiser thingies (oddly satisfying) and went to watch a band in the evening.
Today I'm cooking roast and not moving outside the door!

Ohshutupcolinyoutwat · 16/02/2025 17:15

Both my DC are at Uni now so am home alone. Got home at midnight Friday from a long haul holiday and have spent the weekend in a zombie like state! Have done very little aside from sort the washing and relaxing.

Kangarude · 16/02/2025 17:17

We did the food shopping yesterday morning. Came home and I did a couple of hours of exercise before having a nap on the sofa. We went out to the pub last night with a group of friends and saw a great singer (and had slightly too much prosecco)
This morning I got up and prepared dinner. DH cooked it and made the gravy and we are now stuffed, watching TV. DH is going out this evening to do a pub quiz with some of his friends.
Pretty much describes every weekend to be honest Smile

StormingNorman · 16/02/2025 17:17

I spent yesterday sneezing and snoozing on the sofa. Today, I’m feeling a lot better so I went out for Sunday lunch. Now I’m binging Dirty John on Netflix which is the best thing I’ve seen in ages.

AuntieMarys · 16/02/2025 17:18

Binged the last season.of My Brilliant Friend. Coffee out both mornings ( dh working). Read a book. Workouts both days.
Did some market research this afternoon...£120!
Not cooking tonight...it's a lamb tagine from Cook.
Just opened a bottle of red.

Penko25 · 16/02/2025 17:21

Went for a swim, followed by a takeaway Friday night. Gym class Saturday morning. Then a long walk with friends followed by pub lunch. Today I’ve come to a spa hotel with DP for 3 nights of relaxing & walking (if it doesn’t rain).

SkaneTos · 16/02/2025 17:22

I have been dog-sitting my neighbour's dog! Such a sweet dog, very energetic, so it has been a weekend full of nice long walks in the sun and frost.

mitogoshigg · 16/02/2025 17:23

Went to a concert dsd was in (adult), went supermarket shopping at the big branch (was near venue rather than near our house) exciting Confused went to pub.

Home alone today as dh is on a business trip.

EarlierDistraction · 16/02/2025 17:23

One of my DCs is at uni, one works all weekend so I am effectively child-free in the daytimes.

Saturday - DH was away too.
Dropped DD at work
Parkrun
Home and a few odd jobs, lunch
Went to see my parents
Picked DD up on the way back
Dinner in front of the TV.

Sunday - DH back but we've been doing out own things
Volunteering at a local nature reserve
Lunch
Gym
An hour at the allotment
Home
Cooking dinner now.

ViciousCurrentBun · 16/02/2025 17:24

My child is an adult and gadding about ( as my Mother used to say) on a date.

I went out on an organised birdwatching walk at a local nature reserve. Saw ducks, geese, goldeneyes, blue tits, robins, crows, great tufted somethings, egrets, herons, swans, seagulls. It was incredibly muddy and had mud up to my knees in places.

DH picked me up and we went for a roast dinner at a pub, I asked if they did a small roast they said I could have a kids one. When he paid there was an offer on buy 1 adult roast get a kids free so mine was free. I am short so DH found it hilarious. Had a nap. Watched an episode of a box set and ate some lovely M&S biscuits as found a box at the back of the cupboard left from Christmas.

DS has just pulled on to the drive, I will not ask but hope he may give a hint as to how the date went.

dudsville · 16/02/2025 17:25

I cancelled my social plans so I could have a quiet weekend at home with DH who's recovering from a surgery. I've been to the gym, done lots of cleaning and small tasks. Wonderful breakfasts, big late lunches, wine and trash TV in the evening, early to bed, early ish to rise. Short walks with DH. It's not exciting!

gingercat02 · 16/02/2025 17:26

We only have one 16yo, so he does his own thing a lot.
DH has man flu, so this weekend has been quiet.
I did 2h volunteering yesterday morning, we all had lunch, put a load of washing on, watched a bit of tv, fed DS, and he went out.
DH and I had a takeaway and watched the night agent. DS came home, DH, and I went to bed.
Today, I got up breakfast, put DS trainers in the wash, and went to my gym class. Home for lunch popped to my mums to water her plants and picked a few bits up in Sainsbury's. Watched Miss Austen and now Country file.
Fajitas and wine for tea and catch-up of a few tv series.

TulipTuesday · 16/02/2025 17:26

Yesterday morning I did the housework before popping to Tesco for a couple of things. In the afternoon I sat on the sofa with a cuppa and some millionaire shortbread watching rubbishy telly.
I cooked spaghetti bolognaise for tea and I watched The Masked Singer and the 1% Club with DH with a few glasses of Prosecco.

Today we had a lazy breakfast then went to the next town over for a long walk before going in to the shopping centre for a mooch. We stopped for a cuppa in a cafe then walked a bit more. We spotted a cute looking bar so popped in for a glass of wine. Then we came home, I changed the sheets on the spare bed and we’re now watching football.

I need to start cooking tea but can’t be bothered.

Gothzilla · 16/02/2025 17:27

A quiet day today. My husband & I met up with friends last night and what was supposed to be a chilled evening of just dinner ended up with us dancing the night away and stumbling home shit faced at 3am! We woke up around 11, husband made brunch then we dragged ourselves for a walk by the river, went to street market, got hot chocolate and pastries. We came home for a snooze and now catching up on Silent Witness and thinking of doing a lazy chicken and veg one pan roast.

TroysMammy · 16/02/2025 17:28

Supermarket shopping, making chilli con carne, lentil bolognese, lamb rogan josh for freezing, doom scrolling the internet, one load in the washing machine, half arsed attempt at cleaning. It's great being childfree.

OnePearlFox · 16/02/2025 17:32

Mine has been really boring 🤣 but nice all the same.

Yesterday - pottered in the morning and got ready slowly, then went to see family friends and their children with my parents. Went into town after to H&M and Boots, did a small food shop in M&S. Came home to eat my pizza, laze on the sofa and do a few loads of washing.

Today - had a lovely M&S pain au raisin for breakfast (one of the frozen ones), stayed in PJs till about 11am just watching my Youtubes and looking for paint colours online. Went to the retail park, got a coffee and browsed the shops. Had a wee notion for a Subway so got one, came home to do my cleaning and tidying. Now about to put my clean washing away and then have some nibbly bits for tea. I think I’ll watch Unforgotten on ITV tonight.

Thighdentitycrisis · 16/02/2025 17:32

Worked on some curtains, (not finished)
food shop
cooked for the freezer and the work week
went for a run
nice bath
restored my cast iron skillet
watched too much you tube
(adult kids)

Shinynose · 16/02/2025 17:36

My DC are grown up.

Friday early evening I went to the cinema, then cooked for my Valentine 😆 shared a bottle of wine and binge watched a drama

Saturday I went to parkrun, then football and out to see a band in the evening.

Today I've been for a long run, had a very lazy afternoon mostly dozing and am now cooking a roast for adult DC.

pootleondown · 16/02/2025 17:40

Drove to a uk holiday destination yesterday. Stopped off to meet family halfway for lunch. Went to the pub last night.

Today went walking then had a pub roast. Watched some tv this afternoon...Will have a picky tea then watch some more.
