Help me with my living room again 😩

Sorry it's me again. So after thinking about doing something with my sofa that's gone out of the window.

But I do want to completely change the living living room. So basically change the walls and the floors, curtains.

My no 's are no dark walls. It has to be light although I will consider a medium sort of colour. Do I just paint or do wallpaper as well? Or maybe some sort of panelling

Floor wise I want to rip the floor up and put something better down. I'm open to the colour and type. I'm also now happy to put a rug down but short pile type.

I'm very against cushions and floor lamp/low light type. As I don't like a room that's dimmed . I like it bright light wise.

I have taken a few pics of the living room so there's a better idea.

I'm hoping to make a start this week.

She's painted already! She doesn't hang about.

Yes, I realise that. I’m talking about things like curtains, rugs, coffee tables.

I'm really just looking at the moment. I need to touch up the paint a bit. Get the unit back up. Sofas back together. Clear the living room so its completely tidy . No point in the curtains/rugs until everything is set at they are finishing touches. But still want to think of ideas etc

Ah, fair enough.

I think you could definitely put the sofa back together now if you want that extra seat, OP. The black looks much better against the new colours.

What colour are you painting behind the white cupboard wall?

Think I'm leaving it white

Would you have had to move the cupboard anyway to paint the blue up to the corner?

You could make something like that, using the leftover paint from your walls

PinkPinkPinkBlue · 26/02/2025 19:46

@Youagain2025 Could you get something plain like this and spray paint it as your artsy?
Wall art

PinkPinkPinkBlue · 26/02/2025 19:48

@Youagain2025 there will be loads of other options available if you look.

No its not me . To be honest I will probably end up with canvas . I only come across the wall art thing by accident.

You really could. Buy pre-cut mdf blanks, like these and layer them up. The wire behind the one on the left could be recreated with a metal wreath blank. I think that would look great above the radiator.

Do you mean to make the wall art myself. I really couldn't . It would be awful.

I do, and you're definitely capable! I've seen the photos of what you did in the kids' rooms, you'd have no problem at all painting a few bits of mdf!

To make it a bit simpler, use circles for all of the shapes, so that's 8 mdf circles in various sizes. Paint 4 of them with emulsion or acrylic, but I'd definitely use the paint you've used on your walls for the 2 largest.

For the inner circles you could use gold spray paint, or imitation gold leaf. Or maybe mirrors if you could find cheap ones. Then layer the smaller shapes onto the larger painted shapes. I'd use some sort of spacer between the 2 layers.

You don't even need to join all the layered circles to each other, just hang each individually in an arrangement you like.

With the kids room that can't really go wrong
Because there's no rules 😅

There's no way I could do the wall art . But I now feel like i have a challenge. So im going try and do it. When I gos wrong I shall post a pic on here 🤣
