Help me with my living room again 😩

Sorry it's me again. So after thinking about doing something with my sofa that's gone out of the window.

But I do want to completely change the living living room. So basically change the walls and the floors, curtains.

My no 's are no dark walls. It has to be light although I will consider a medium sort of colour. Do I just paint or do wallpaper as well? Or maybe some sort of panelling

Floor wise I want to rip the floor up and put something better down. I'm open to the colour and type. I'm also now happy to put a rug down but short pile type.

I'm very against cushions and floor lamp/low light type. As I don't like a room that's dimmed . I like it bright light wise.

I have taken a few pics of the living room so there's a better idea.

I'm hoping to make a start this week.

The only one of those colours I’d want in a lounge is the yellow , but I’m a great yellow fan . We have Dulux Golden Sands on 2 walls in our lounge , which is a darker yellow

Yes, I know the feeling very wellGrin
Worth the price of a meal for you though

FiveBarGate · 22/02/2025 15:37

Looking forward to seeing what you do. You are good at it and you like colour.

I think your sofa will look more at home with bold bright colours.

I think when we struggle with enthusiasm for something it's often because we are not sure it's quite right so your subconscious has probably been telling you something.

For the inspiration pictures your furniture is a good fit so win-win.

NotbloodyGivingupYet · 22/02/2025 15:49

Probably too late now, I bet you've been to h and q already, but if you use too many if the same colours it will just make you think of your son's room. You could use say the orange, but don't then use the red and the purple too.

I think thats true . And i think where it isn't under the so called norm that makes it harder to. I pray it works. The world won't end if it does not. Hopefully it will though.

Green/sage and yellow/mustard go well together, and would go well with your sofa.

When I think of sage, I think of something much, much lighter than this.

OP if you have doubts about sage (which would look great), how about a brighter duck egg colour?

I have totally moved away from sage and simlar now. I'm doing something completely different. Well attempting 😬

I have to keep dragging the sofas from one end of the room to the other it's really pissing me of. I'm debating to put them in the garden . It says 0% chance of rain. Then I could bring them in this evening.

Yeah it’s easy to try to keep going and start making mistakes. wake up fresh today and crack on!
hopefully your motivation has come back now it’s coming together in your own style?

This is such a gorgeous shade of orange!

Good idea to stop when you were tired. It can be tempting to try to push through but then things go wrong which take even longer to fix (and you feel rubbish).

You're making amazing progress.

Wow that’s a bit of a departure from sage green! 😁

How’s it looking in the cold light of day @Youagain2025 ?

I'm going to have to do another coat with the teal colour was hoping not to. Never mind. The down side is theses colors are going to make the room look smaller.

I'm also wondering if I should somehow get a small about of black in there because if the sofa being black. Im not sure though 🤔

I'm debating with myself about the corners where I have put the triangles . I was going to paint them red and purple to break things up a bit. But im not sure if I should do each wall one colour

OP posts:
Floralnomad · 23/02/2025 11:14

I think a solid colour on the entire wall would look better
