When my son told me he was visiting New York, I heard myself say " are you planning on visiting MOMA?You can't possibly go to New York and not visit MOMA". I cringed as soon as I said it.

Middle class and having money are completely different things. But I have said this on so many threads that I'm not going to say it again!

Are you me? This was my life between Christmas and New Year. My local Waitrose has only just restocked but it is the one in the ceramic dish not the one that is already halved. It is nowhere near as strong!

I have literally just returned from Waitrose aghast because there were no sweet potatoes. Settled for butternut squash.

Working class. Grew up in a council house.

@twistyizzy On this occasion no, I seem to recall a hand knitted olive green cardigan though! There was a family from Hebden that used to come into the library I worked at with their children - Mordecai, Orion and Hepzibah...

Having grown up near Hebden, I am not in the least bit surprised. Also, the best place to obtain illegal drugs in West Yorkshire 😆

Someone at work asked where I was grabbing lunch from today, and I answered ‘at my club’ before remembering that no-one at work knows I’m a member of a private library.

Never going to hear the end of this now.

Was in the White Company Shop and husband picked up an electric fragrance diffuser and said shall we get one of these for the boat.

I have my usual parking space in Waitrose car park and I get mad if someone else is in it.

I brought back some pecorino from Rome (my bag was overweight from all the cheese I bought). I thought I'd make authentic carbonara and I couldn't possibly make it with pancetta so I started a search for guanicale. I was delighted when I found some in a posh supermarket.

Family Skiing trip and bumped into three local families within an hour. I muttered to DH "Courchevel is starting to feel like Chiswick High Road Waitrose". DH said "Okay Amanda".

I have special (not very special at all, £2 from Sainsburys on sale) mugs for said workmen. Last time we had builders, I realised all we had to offer was Wedgwood coffee mugs and I’ll be buggered if I let them use those in all their mess and chaos.

M&S now sell reblochon, if you are still looking for it.
