A sign of brain activity dear
You would think that the ones with the big salaries had it

Ok everyone I get it now.

Apparently the wrong forum to post these kind of things but many posters said they enjoy watching similar on TikTok etc so different social media platforms for different things!

MN used to be different. I loved having a nosey of what people got up to.

Nah, I don't think MN ever really was the place to just waffle on about how you have money to burn.

Too many people on here are struggling with the CoL. To advertise your fripperies seems quite tasteless.

GreenFingersHelp · 13/02/2025 15:10

She's not even super super wealthy!

That's a gross income of around £150K.

Not at all unusual for any number of jobs in London.

New grad lawyers start on around that as can investment bankers.

Are you his pet?

No, and I'm also not a SAHM which I see a lot of on here.

@indigovapour not sure on OP or not, but I'm in London and work in Financial Tech, and the most lusted after entry level roles in investment banking/private wealth management START in the 6 figures - aka fresh out of uni. It's extremely 'easy' to be taking home £8k+ a month on a not very senior salary, depending on where OP is working, though presumably she doesn't want to out herself.

I read a thread the other day that was replicating something from tictok or Instagram and I did wonder why the OP felt the need to post it here. If there's a particular trend one type of social media why not post there where theres an audience for it

Surely we don't want all places to be copies of each other, where would be get variety of content?

@CurlyhairedAssassin 😁

Well you don't seem to spend much time on your work, judging by your posts here, and others where you chip in with your opinions and your plans for the future.

What’s wrong with being a SAHM? You sound terribly judgemental.

Itsnotallaboutyoulikeyouthink · 13/02/2025 15:34

Oh look at me and how much I can spend. Who cares. You’re not even asking for help to reduce spend.

GreenFingersHelp · 13/02/2025 15:35

Are you even in the UK?

Some of your posts were posted in the middle of the night - like 4am.

How do you manage to perform at work if you're on MN at that time of day?

Caroparo52 · 13/02/2025 15:41

Why do you rent when you could be chipping away at owning a property to achieve longterm security for your family. Crazy priorities.

Makes complete sense to rent when you are not from the UK and will only be living here for a relatively short period.

So they op would presumably have clarified they do own a property but not here and given she did not…

Sunnyside4 · 13/02/2025 15:49

Fair enough, we all have different life styles and finances, and I'm used to mixing with others that have a lot more money (through previous jobs and also DD was very lucky to get a scholarship and bursary at a private school).

However, I'd have never thought about posting on there that everything goes into one account, we both have an allowance of £150 per month and what we've spent it on - funnily enough I don't spend all mine and manage.

Edited

It doesn’t really matter whether they do or not. It’s not sensible to pay £50k plus in stamp duty and legal fees etc if you only intended to stay in the UK for a couple of years.

Agreed
but the op would have mentioned she owned a property in home country if she did.
