His stupid voice and the stupid things he says makes me want to barf and his stupid orange face and bum hole mouth make me want to ram biros in my eyes.

He’s going to be all over the news for the next four years. 😱

I agree the Tories were worse than useless too. The only fruit Labour's policies will bear is homelessness, raised rent, higher taxes, higher fuel prices, higher food prices, food shortages and increased crime.

Sounds superb.

Pure supposition. Let’s wait and see, shall we?

I am surprised David Lammy is still in his role but he is certainly doing his best to show he has warmed to Trump 😆

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a cabinet shake up soon

Lammy really does have his foot in mouth moments

Or common sense and an ability to understand cause and effect.

For example:
Cause: Changes to the Renter's Rights Bill coming this year.

Effect: Landlords selling up to avoid incoming red tape leads to less homes to rent, increases demand and competition, which drives up rental prices and causes homelessness.

I'd rather not wait and see. It's like watching a car crash and doing nothing about it.

Renting done and dusted in Wales, yes there have been casualties for some renters. Rents will go up. The tenants left are better protected though.

Wales have also gone after holiday lets.

Spain intends to ban all non residents from owning second homes.

We're short of housing this is a quicker fix Wales and Spain believe.

Or, effect: less substandard rental accommodation. For those properties which are placed on the market, this will reduce competition, leading to lower prices, meaning greater opportunities for those who may previously have struggled to buy.

You have no choice but to wait and see, unless you plan to emigrate.

I know someone from the UK who is distantly related to Trump. He says he understands him and feels in many ways he is misunderstood by his opponents.

I won't comment on the subject as its not something I've researched or know enough about other than that's what I've heard.

If only the UK has embraced European culture more than American ideas and values.
As a child in the 70s it was always trashy American programmes that were put out and bought up by the tv companies and fast food started to become a thing ( rather than just pie and mash or fish and chips or wimpey)
I can remember all the excitement over a McDonald's opening in my nearest town in the mid 80s and my mum saying about the waste it would generate.
Now it's obvious that America won't be doing anything about climate change, the press will just say that we shouldn't either ( whatever the rights and wrongs of that argument) causing more divisions as if we haven't enough already.

You do know that European countries ( by the way the UK is European) watched the same American tv programmes as we did and Europe is full of McDonalds, KFC and BK.

the80sweregreat · 23/01/2025 06:50

I still think that following a more European model might have been better than an American one, but it's only my own opinion / musings

I live with his twin, who's as dictatorial as he is.

But yours is cute. What's his position on making penguins pay?

Pokske · 04/04/2025 17:49

Wallaw, he wants it all. So much food that he can spread around my living room...
Ever since a friend pointed out the resemblence, I can't unsee how they are alike.
He bosses me about, asking for more grain just to spill it. Todlerlike, like his US brother..

Pokske · 04/04/2025 17:51

And Penguins will be sent elsewhere, while he makes a Southpole resort with a giant golden statue of himself.
