His stupid voice and the stupid things he says makes me want to barf and his stupid orange face and bum hole mouth make me want to ram biros in my eyes.

He’s going to be all over the news for the next four years. 😱

I’m really struggling and feeling really anxious about it all. I can’t believe people aren’t more angry.
Im coping by focussing on Melania and how much she hates him.

People aren’t angry, They are relief that KH is not the POTUS.

As for not coping with Trump. I find that people who hates him are always switching on to see him. Weird!

It could be worse. You could live in America and be ruled by him.

How odd.
do you think that’s because they are uneducated, lack critical thinking skills, or are just so inherently selfish that they don’t care about women’s and minority rights being systematically removed by a sex offending bigoted war mongerer?
How baffling that the misogyny would run so deep that they would pick all of that over a woman!

How did you cope between 2016 and 2020 when he was last president? Just do whatever you did then.

He was just getting started last time. I genuinely think just based on his first day we have no idea what’s coming.

All of those things. Thick, desperate, brain washed by social media. Or the really scary ones who are rich and selfish, and just want more money/power.

Who is to say Trump won’t go the same way in a year or two? And if you’ve ever seen one of his speeches written down, you’ll realise he already spouts some absolute drivel.

Edited

Well then there is at least a functioning VPOTUS to take over unlike when Biden & Harris held the top spots and no one knew who was actually running the US. Now THAT was a frightening time…

Well Starmer hit the ground running, no honeymoon period for the UK.

That must have been for America.

@Berlinlover I think it's not dramatic enough . He will set the US back to the Dark Ages , invade countries that he wants and divide the world up between him and Putin..

omfg, this is a wind up, surely?

MagpiePi · 22/01/2025 08:59

Interesting points of view.

I dislike everything he stands for. His ego, his cruelty. He has surrounded himself with Yes men and women who seem to be as corrupt and self serving as he is. He can't deliver a coherent speech and is renowned for going with whatever the last person to talk to him said. He admires dictators and you can see he is just itching to be one himself.

Its a fucking shit show and I feel really sorry for the Americans that their country and democracy are going to go down the pan.

Their country will be absolutely fine. Democracy is not going down the pan. That’s more of a liberal government trait.
And the majority of Americans voted for DT, so they are delighted. No need for you to feel sorry.

There was a functioning VPOTUS in Harris. What are you talking about out?

You shouldn’t feel sorry for us. I am super happy after his day one executive orders. Feels like America is back on the right track tbh 🥰

Half of the US sound pretty jubilant tbf

And nearly all mn sounds angry and down. It won't be US voters you'll need to feel sorry for

US will likely do well, it's the impact on others and the comparative decline that will be an issue

amoreoamicizia · 22/01/2025 09:26

I don't have any strong opinions on him at all but we need to focus on our own politics and wider European politics. I'm so tired of the absolute dominance of US politics in our media to the exclusion of everything else and they way people, even some on this thread, discuss the US political situation as though it were our own.

LoveItaly · 22/01/2025 09:32

Needmilkandbread · 21/01/2025 16:19

I feel the same about Starmer.

I guess we just have to get on with it.

Yes, me too😞

the80sweregreat · 22/01/2025 09:39

If only the UK has embraced European culture more than American ideas and values.
As a child in the 70s it was always trashy American programmes that were put out and bought up by the tv companies and fast food started to become a thing ( rather than just pie and mash or fish and chips or wimpey)
I can remember all the excitement over a McDonald's opening in my nearest town in the mid 80s and my mum saying about the waste it would generate.
Now it's obvious that America won't be doing anything about climate change, the press will just say that we shouldn't either ( whatever the rights and wrongs of that argument) causing more divisions as if we haven't enough already.

Betchyaby · 22/01/2025 10:05

Soonenough · 21/01/2025 15:17

I feel the same . But then I think he will probably start WW111 so it won't matter as we will all be gone.

Trump has never started a war. I think you will find the Russia/Ukraine conflict will come to an end soon too.

Notaflippinclue · 22/01/2025 10:08

What a beautiful family Trump has

Betchyaby · 22/01/2025 10:08

I'd focus on our own nation that went to shit under false conservatives and is now falling into even deeper shit under Labour, before being bothered about what Trump is up to.

And Starmer has shown his dislike openly. Not really good for business and trade. 🙄

It's terrifying to think about the state we will be in at the end of their term. We are fucked after mere months.

It’s absolutely terrifying to think what another 4 or 5 years of the Tories in government might have done. There’s plenty of time yet for Labour’s policies to bear fruit.

HRTQueen · 22/01/2025 10:32

I am surprised David Lammy is still in his role but he is certainly doing his best to show he has warmed to Trump 😆

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a cabinet shake up soon

I agree the Tories were worse than useless too. The only fruit Labour's policies will bear is homelessness, raised rent, higher taxes, higher fuel prices, higher food prices, food shortages and increased crime.

Sounds superb.
