Could Trump take Greenland by force?

I would like to think he couldn’t, but could he? Would he basically invade it if he couldn’t buy it? Would the UK defend it as part of NATO?

Could he also take the Panama Canal?

I’m hoping it’s all distraction politics but I also think Trump and his cronies are stupid and dangerous people.

Resource curse - Wikipedia

An independant Greenland, managed really by excellent politicians would have much more of a chance of translating its resources into economic benefits. But lots of things would make that hard to happen (foreign interference - China or America or even Europe; trouble makers on the internet stirring up chaos/arguments at critical points; the fact that excellent politicians don't always appear when most needed). I don't think a chaotic American administration whose president (Trump) has been very clear he wants Greenland for the resource extraction would be good for Greenland's economy. Or Americas for that matter...

Actually I think the Greenland economy will massively benefit. Trump will immediately start mining for minerals and drilling for oil. He will have zero interest in environmental concerns. This will provide well paid work for Greenlanders.
This isn't to suggest in any way I think Trump is right or it's for the best. But I just don't think it's true that there wouldn't be economic benefits for Greenlanders.

Nah. It will provide well-paid work to US oil workers who will be flown in and result in the rape, prostitution, murder, and disappearance of Greenlander women by these same, almost entirely male, oil workers. President Pussygrabber isn't going to give a shiny shit about making sure that Greenlander women get justice when they are raped and murdered by these all-american, blue-collar, hardworking, and, most importantly, oil-producing men.

This is reproduced across the USA already, where settlements that become "oil towns" become unsafe for women overnight. This is especially true for Native women if the oil town is in or near most of the Tribal reservations, because most reservations rightly aren't subject to State law but Tribal courts are limited to three year sentences and don't have jurisdiction for major crimes like murder when the perp isn't a Native person. So basically non-Native men can drive onto the rez and do what they like to Native women, knowing that the FBI will almost certainly not bother to investigate a disappeared Native woman.
