Anyone can't sleep?

I'm having a night time flare up of my IBS after a stressful day at the hospital with my foster daughter. And now the IBS is making me anxious. I've got my headphones on and I'm listening to the that anxiety guy (the anxious truth) podcast and trying to focus on keeping my breathing steady and desperately praying I don't have to get up for the loo again.

Bless you. Hope it settles down soon. I'm awake for the third night in a row as DH has a cold and is snoring loud enough to rattle the foundations. I'm seriously considering a move to the sofa....

GavlarShmavlar · 03/01/2025 01:44

By the way, I hope all is well with your foster daughter.

YellowDiamondsInTheSky · 03/01/2025 01:44

I’m desperate to sleep.

My children won’t bloody sleep. 1 and 3 year old - it’s like they take it in turns to wake up to keep me awake as long as possible.

Oh I'd move to the sofa in a heart beat! Thank you, she's torn ligaments 🙈

Oh god, one waking is bad enough but two on a loop, you must be exhausted.

Wide awake worrying my 1 year old might be too cold. She fell asleep without her sleep sack on and I daren't wake her to put it on. It's 21 degrees in her room but feels cold to me, and the heating will make a noise if I put it on. So naturally I'm lying awake worrying about her freezing!

Hope your IBS settles soon. I get terrible endometriosis flare ups made worse by stress so I really do sympathise.

Checkedpajamas · 03/01/2025 01:51

I'm in the bathroom feeling unbelievably sick , desperately trying not to be. Too much rich food, urgh it's disgusting, my stomach is in revolt. Sympathy with IBS, fellow sufferer here

thaegumathteth · 03/01/2025 01:55

Teenage daughter has 3 friends for a sleepover and also I'm worrying about going back to work next week. Been off for a month as was in hospital and going back will just be wading through emails.

Re IBS there's a really good YouTube video by generation calm specifically for IBS.

Evening @Nogodsnomasters 👋🏻

Happy to keep you company for a bit.

Our body clocks are seriously out of whack thanks to the holidays! Parenting fail. My husband is currently in my daughter's room and daughter, age 12, is in beside me. She only just fell asleep about an hour ago! same happened last night so we let her sleep till 11am yesterday. Won’t be doing that again…

I’ve eaten way too much rich food and my body is protesting by not letting me sleep!

Aw bless you, that is something I wouldn't stop thinking of either in your shoes. If she's very cold she will waken so if she's still sleeping that means she's comfortable.

Thank you, guts are gurgling away with a drain, moderate pain/discomfort, just really haven't got the energy to drag myself back to the bathroom so hoping and praying the actual loo trips are over.

DD came in at midnight to tell me she couldn’t sleep because she’s stressing about A level work and whether she’s going to get it all done. Calmed her down so hopefully she’s asleep. Now I’m awake and stressing. DD is autistic and does not process stress well at all poor love. 2025 is going to be a looong year.

Hope you all feel better soon/ LOs sleep/ DHs stop snoring.

Are the teens still up?

The dreaded inbox after returning to work strikes fear in all of us so you're not alone.

Thank you, is that a meditation or something?

Same here! My ds10 slept til 10.30 this morning which is very unlike him but it's because of the lack of school routine at he moment so I've informed him I'll be waking him at 8.30 tomorrow, now regretting that as I'm going to be exhausted myself.

I'm up with gallstone pain, in the bath. I have a 12 week old baby so really wish I was sleeping while he slept! Waiting for an appointment to meet the surgical team to plan the operation, no clue when it'll be.

Hope everyone unwell feels better soon and hope your foster daughter is okay x

Do it. Crying might make you feel better. Have you got another adult in the house to help?
Fuck sake, an eye infection is all you need 1 month after giving birth.

Aw no you must be in agony. Have you got a hot water bottle for when you get out of the bath?

Thank you, she tore ligaments, been a stressy day. 2025 needs to have a word with itself.

Hi fellow involuntary owls!🦉

I have been fighting a virus for two weeks.
I don't feel desperately il, but really under the weather.
I'm either boiling or freezing.
Sore throat, sinuses blocked et etc.
I couldn't eat today, too nauseous.

I changed the bedding today, my favourite fluffy duvet cover I put my headphones headband on and listened to a sleep audio book.

I slept for an hour, then the dog heard something abd started barking.
I leap up to shush him.
Now everyone is sleeping but me!

I hope you all manage to get some rest.
Solidarity with those worrying and those with a non sleeping duo!
