Anyone else not seen Gavin & Stacy?

Or is it Stacey. I don’t even know what this show is about, who is in it, when it started, or why it seems to be such a big deal. I’m not interested enough to Google and I’ve only seen it mentioned (numerous times) on MN. I feel slightly out of the loop but too disinterested to do anything further about it than writing this post.

What are you interested in?

FuckItItsFine · 28/12/2024 10:56

Googling would’ve been easier and faster.

To find out who else on MN hasn’t seen it nor has any clue about it?

Never seen it.

Tink63 · 28/12/2024 10:59

Never seen it and no desire to.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 28/12/2024 10:59

Never watched it, and probably never will. There has been an awful lot of hype about the Finale, and I have had moments of wondering if I've missed out on something, but those moments don't last long enough to motivate me to actually watch it!Grin

merrymelodies · 28/12/2024 11:00

Nope, haven't seen it and not interested.

AnyoneSomeone · 28/12/2024 11:01

There's lots of TV programmes I've never watched or have any interest in. I wouldn't start a thread about them on MN though.

AutismTimesTwo · 28/12/2024 11:01

I haven't and couldn't work out why as it's the kind of thing I normally enjoy. Got shit from my teenage nephew who recently binged it in order to watch the finale in real time.
Looked up when it started (May 2007) and realised it was when I was knee deep in babies and toddlers so there you go.

TheTecknician · 28/12/2024 11:02

I've never watched it. Nor have I ever seen Wallace and Gromit. I have seen Mrs Brown's Boys once - years ago and never again. In the last week I have become very weary with hearing about all three programmes like they were the Second Coming.

Frightenedbunny · 28/12/2024 11:02

Never watched an episode in my life. It was on TV in the background Christmas Day and watched it for approximately 10 minutes. Not sure what the hype is tbh. Didn’t seem remotely funny, but I guess you need to appreciate the back story. It certainly didn’t make me want to watch it!

Olika · 28/12/2024 11:03

Haven't seen it and not interested.

TheClawDecides · 28/12/2024 11:05

Ahh this thread reminds me of the Facebook memes about Game Of Thrones.

"I've never watched a single episode, how many others can make this claim?"

Errrrm ok 🤷‍♂️

UndeniablyGenXmasOfAWomblingMerryType · 28/12/2024 11:05

Never watched it, no interest in watching it - life would be boring if we all liked exactly the same things.

I was saying on another thread - it was the top-rated programme at Christmas with 12 million viewers, but there are 66 million people in the UK alone, so put into context, the majority of people didn't watch it!

Yes. I’ve never seen a single episode of Friends, because it’s not my kind of thing, but it wouldn’t occur to me to post on here to see how many others hadn’t.

@CatToots

Why bother posting this when you CBA to even watch it anyway? Confused

What a bizarre thread to start!!!

What has amazed me and made me laugh in equal measures this past few days, is the amount of people on here who have been bashing it, and slating it, when they haven't even watched it. (Or only watched part of the Christmas day episode this year.) It's soooo pathetic! 😂

WATCH IT! It's on BBC iPlayer. And IT'S AMAZING!

devildeepbluesea · 28/12/2024 11:08

Competitive disinterest is so dreary.

boysmuminherts · 28/12/2024 11:10

Never seen it but I know it's a very popular comedy drama and stars James Corden as Smithy. I believe it's been a few years since the previous special so understandably people have been excited about its return.

It's a bit like the relentless Daily Mail bashing from people who claim not to read it 😁

slightlydistrac · 28/12/2024 11:12

I've watched a few episodes over the years, but never really got into it, and didn't see the latest one.

Never watched Downton Abbey either.

Aha this explains it for me too. Never seen it, also was a SAHM at the time so never would have had that 'office chat'where everyone is watching the same thing.

Some of us have relatives who insist on triumphantly reading out bits of its contents at random moments throughout the day.Xmas Sad

Gingercatlover · 28/12/2024 11:14

No never watched it.
