Nothing you wear, nothing you eat, something you use.

Is the tree deciduous?

Q10 it could be but not necessarily

Is it something you smoke?

Q11 you could with a variety of this but that's not the one I'm thinking of

Intriguing!

HarpQuartet · 30/12/2024 17:34

I've been hoping someone else would ask a spicy question to take this in a direction I've not considered, but...

Q12 do people make it into furniture?

rosemole · 30/12/2024 18:39

Q12 nope!

Where are the spicy mners when you need em

OP posts:

Does it have colourful flowers (purples, pinks, yellows etc) ("Yes") or non-distinct flowers/ no flowers at all ("No").

Haha if only it were as simple as yes/no.

Hmm. It could have. Sorry, that's not helpful. I think I'd better give a clue. Think more end product than natural form.

Is the use to which humans put it typically functional (eg storage) ("Yes") or typically aesthetic (eg charcoal) ("No").

Oooh now believe it or not it fulfils both of those criteria 😂

Hmphhh.....Tough one.

I won't rest until I find it though.

By the way I have a good one if I am permitted a go later. It has been insurmountable in the past. I suspect the MN crew would get it within 20, as there are some savvy people here.

HarpQuartet · 30/12/2024 20:12

@Vignoble I am very admiring of your yes/no technique

Ooh yes please do take a turn, I've not been a guesser for ages and yours sounds like a real challenge.

HarpQuartet · 30/12/2024 21:33

@MrsTerryPratchett maybe it's used for making comic novels 😊

Q17 yes but it also serves a purpose. Will make sense eventually

Its the fact that sometimes it can be 'smoked' (or smokey?) that has me stumped. I keep going to willow and cricket bats or amber (which can be smokey) but these do not fit the other clues. But still thinking....

rosemole · 30/12/2024 22:27

Would you like another clue?
