I mean ..that's it 😂..
I have put laughing face ...but a few hours ago ...I was not laughing!

Due to be delivered later today.
I was adding bits and realised that it was coming to the " wrong" address .

It was meant to be going straight to DM's house but it was coming to my address instead ..

I wanted to change the address...and somehow clicked something " wrong "

So now ...
I have woken up with a jolt and realised what a mammoth task I have ahead of me today!!!!

Sainsbury's opens at 6am .

Will the shelves be stocked up at that time ?

Every Christmas there’s a new thread with this same mistake.

It was so huge she got it in a mini trolley.

My Christmas pudding cost 25p. I bought it last Jan when Lidl were selling their Christmas stuff off for 25p and I noticed the date on the puddings was Feb 2025.

I once clicked on a button to track the delivery of a fridge freezer and accidentally cancelled it. I was gutted - it was such a bargain undone by fat fingers.

AnchorWHAT · 23/12/2024 09:35

I got the dreaded Sainsbury's e mail , headline was the ominous sorry we have not got everything you ordered, read on to find its one substitution. So instead of 3 boxes of large Burford browns i am getting four boxes of medium Burford browns! Yay result.

Peachy2005 · 23/12/2024 09:42

Well done for getting it (nearly) all done.

At 1am on Sunday morning I cancelled my 8-10pm delivery slot for tonight (23rd), thinking I didn’t need anything because I had the turkey and ham…but then spent all Sunday noticing gaps on my shelves, like custard, rice, tinned soup, tortilla wraps, soft drinks etc and jotting them down. About 10.30 Sunday night I started inputting them into the Tesco app to gauge if I was going to need a big shop, and whether I should book the single Click & Collect slot showing for Monday. Then suddenly, a sea of delivery slots showed up for Monday like a Christmas miracle.

I got the email earlier and only Stollen unavailable and they substituted Chinese 5 Spice for Chicken seasoning (!) so that’s a decent result.

I hope you get your alcohol @bizzey but maybe keep an eye on the app: cancellations do seem to come up!

To the posters who are mocking the fact that I had to use a small trolley, taxi and have no one to help me ....

It's not as bad as people think in the shops you just have to be patient and not too fussy about what sort of turkey you get and it's fine. Just go in grab a turkey and carrots and it's fine

Ignore them they don't understand the world of the non drivers and think we all do it for fun

Why are you asking do you not think OP will have thought of all the options

OP also said that was not the full shop.

If I were to do the big Christmas shop in person using a taxi I'd need to make more than one journey as well as I would also struggle to manage the heavy stuff.

ueberlin2030 · 23/12/2024 09:53

You're buying so much that it won't fit into a taxi? Why?

ilovesushi · 23/12/2024 09:54

Oh god! Good luck Op! I am sending you good vibes now as you negotiate the scrum down the aisles. Hope you get everything you need. Can you make it one cab ride? Ask the driver to carry things in for you. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to for a Christmas tip. You've got this! x

Well done @bizzey!
I don’t have a car and do most of my big shops online. The rare times I go in person I have a shopping trolley to help me. Would that be an option for you in the future?

Hecatoncheires · 23/12/2024 09:57

Well done, OP! I once thought I'd done my big Christmas shop online and was chuffed with myself for being so organised. Imagine my surprise when all that was delivered was a couple of bottles of fizz and a melon. I'd put that in the basket to secure the slot then forgot to add the rest of the bluddy stuff. Hope the shops aren't too hectic when you have to venture back out.

WellThisIsStupid · 23/12/2024 09:59

I have a delivery booked from Morrisons this morning.

Couldn't accidentally cancel it, as cut off for editing was Friday night, so was locked in.

Had email and text from them to say they're on their way, however, something was wrong in email and went to website to check and Morrisons website and app is down!

Getting worried now as others have had emails cancelling, so not sure if it's coming or not, plus all my money is tied up there.

I’ve done a £250 shop for a family of 6 in one of those trolleys before. They’re not any smaller, just shallower so you have to stack. The person on the checkout next to me applauded me when I loaded the last thing back in and said they would never have believed I was going to fit it all in until they watched me do it 🤣

We were lucky with our Asda order yesterday. No J20s but we had some already. King Edward Potatoes were subbed for Maris Pipers and Pancetta subbed for Smoked Pancetta.
A relatives order(not sure where from) arrived the other day with no turkey!!

I was panicking about this, butvthought surely supermarkets get extra turkeys in! Luckily my Tesco shop came with no substitutions. I just have a lidl shop for a Christmas Eve fish bake and fresh veg to do today.

LaMarschallin · 23/12/2024 10:06

I always used to get MPs, especially for roast potatoes. There just weren't any one day so I got KEs instead. They were so much better! Best roasties ever and just tasted more "potato-y" somehow.
I get you're not overly worried about it, but it actually could be a serendipitous bit of good fortune Xmas Smile

bridgetreilly · 23/12/2024 10:07

I admit, I am boggling at the idea of too much food to fit in a taxi. How do you push a trolley round with that much food?!
