Christmas Cheese

This is about actual cheese, not movies and music!

This is what we have so far! What are we missing (apart from Saint Paulin/Port Salut, which we are already aware of).

And, please show me your Christmas cheese selection!

You need a blue cheese and a smoked cheese

Edit: I see the blue at the back

kitchenplans · 18/12/2024 21:02

Oh, and I'm aware we don't have a strong (crunchy) cheddar yet.

Wensleydale with cranberries!

TheJones · 18/12/2024 21:07

Oh I want to eat cheese now after reading this

Worldgonecrazy · 18/12/2024 21:07

Epoisse that’s my favourite Christmas treat. I can’t justify the expense apart from Christmas.

IntelligentInputDarling · 18/12/2024 21:05

Wensleydale with cranberries!

Oh no, no, no. Fruit does not belong in cheese. A fig or a grape on the side, yes. But in cheese, nooooo.

I like Boursin for my crackers.

What's this like? And where can I get it...

Oh wow, that's impressive!

I was going to rely on M&S for a cheeseboard but was disappointed browsing recently, I swear they used to do 5 cheeses for £7.50. It's still £7.50 but for 3, I'm sure I'm not imagining it. But I'll still get it because it's nice to snack on with pickled vegetables, grapes and crackers

underseige05 · 18/12/2024 21:12

You definitely need Black bomber

coxesorangepippin · 18/12/2024 21:12

Wasn't there another cheese thread the other week?? Best cheeses or something??

We've gone cheese mad

ChannelFiveDrama · 18/12/2024 21:13

Second black bomber

BondStreet · 18/12/2024 21:14

Quite the selection OP. I’d add the M&S red chilli cheese and Snowdonia rock star.

Dcbjgfdh · 18/12/2024 21:09

I like Boursin for my crackers.

I do too, but we flit back and forth to France and Boursin (well the Auchan equivalent) has become a bit everyday to us. We'll no doubt have some in though.

Stilton, Stilton and then even more Stilton. Please.

IGotBigKidsAndICannotLie · 18/12/2024 21:19

That's a very creditable quantity of truffle Brie. Respect <misses point>

mindutopia · 18/12/2024 21:20

I love the pineapple soft cheese ring with the nuts, whatever it’s called. But I accept that might be too fruity for you if you don’t like fruit in cheese (I don’t do Wensleydale with cranberry either!).

Edam or Gouda

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 18/12/2024 21:20

DFIL’s present to us turned up in the post today - a selection of Cornish cheeses. He posted them himself, no cool pack or insulation. Thank heavens the weather has been cold recently! 😂😂😂

Yep that’s what I was going to say , a salty cheddar
