Why have mumsnet posters got so rude?

Honestly I read threads and people are genuinely having a horrible time and posters are so quick to say something mean-

a poor woman asking advice about an abusive boyfriend will be met with absolute victim blaming

someone asking for dating advice is run into the ground for having getting to know 2 men (as is dating culture)

a lesbian mum is asking parenting questions and it’s derailed into a trans debate absolutely nothing to do with what she is asking

someone commented that their husband does nothing around the house and people say you’re a grown woman you should do it yourself

Genuinely what is going on these days

I’ve been reading this for 20 years. There are always some.

I’ve been here since 2011. I don’t think it’s perceptibly ruder in any significant way. What I do notice, slightly, is more intergenerational incomprehension and arguments, like younger posters expecting sympathetic outrage on their behalf when their gripe is that, although their boyfriend got them a nice birthday present and/or took them out for a meal, he didn’t ’make a fuss of me on social media, like everyone else’s boyfriends do!’

I've noticed that there is absolutely no male behaviour that people won't excuse if the woman is a SAHM.
"I'm a SAHM and my dh kicked me in the face."
"Well what do you expect? You're a SAHM."
You'll often see a deletion message where the poster has deregistered from mumsnet. I don't blame them but it's a shame mumsnet made things even worse for them.

Why would anyone set that up tho?

Bad actors/trolls generally trying to sow division and forment social unrest.

On The Rest is Politics, they analysed twitter/X responses to their tweets and estimated >50% comes from bots and trolls. It’s unlikely mumsnet is that different to other social media. Depressing stuff.

@Thunderpants88 if it’s political or social minded stuff - ( think benefits or health care etc) I do think many are actually paid to be ‘interrupters’ /trolls and create controversy agendas in people’s heads . A lot of money sloshing round, particularly on the right from the Musks and Aaron Banks types .
