For me, it’s to leave the washing machine slightly ajar when you’ve finished using it. Game changing - never smells now!

@Suisse bar of old fashioned soap instead of shower gel for perimenopausal/puberty armpit BO was an absolute game changer in my household too.

JaneJeffer · 17/12/2024 13:21

That calling Irish people IRA supporters, Hamas supporters and antisemites is fine and doesn’t break talk guidelines.

bigkidatheart · 17/12/2024 13:27

That everyone should leave his useless ass and get a divorce immediately!

KneesUnder · 17/12/2024 13:32

Not to pay too much attention to what other people think.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 17/12/2024 13:34

Anything you do, someone is going to get offended.

You might as well think sod it, and do as you please.

CurlewKate · 17/12/2024 13:40

There are a lot of small minded people in the world. More than I I imagined.

atotalshambles · 17/12/2024 13:43

To stop being a people-pleaser (mostly!)

Weyohweyoh · 17/12/2024 13:45

That you never know what someone might be dealing with in their lives and you can’t make judgements from a snapshot, so give people the benefit of the doubt and be kind.

ShatnersWoodwind · 17/12/2024 13:46

That there are all sorts of different people in this world whose likes and dislikes are diametrically opposite to each other, but we can all still get along despite that!

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 17/12/2024 13:47

That I suffer from martyr complex - especially around my mum.

MarmaladeSideDown · 17/12/2024 13:49

That a lot of posters reply to what they think they just read, rather than what is actually written, and will still argue the toss for all its worth, even when their misconception is pointed out to them.
😂

My entire laundry system, based on a great post by some brilliant person who used to work for Unilever or some such.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 17/12/2024 14:01

Also, how to make Yorkshire puddings.

That spotify has a sleeptimer for when you want your nighttime listing to stop.

I can't remember which thread but if you are reading this: you are a saint. * *

NerdyBird · 17/12/2024 14:17

Sharing costs proportionately to income where there is a difference in income.
Childcare costs are paid by both parents.
Keep working if you possibly can and don't be SAHM if not married.
Don't take on all the mental load/housework on maternity leave.

How very lucky I am to have a loving, caring and generous husband who I know loves me very much. Not all women are so fortunate, as I read in many posts here, so I am thankful.

How to spot the many exaggerations and mistruths spoken by those involved in MLMs and the lengths they’ll go to try and draw others in.

Crikeyalmighty · 17/12/2024 14:36

So many and from different sections

Relationships
So many total arseholes out there- kind of put things in perspective for me

Elderly
Now know everything there is to know about how the care system works ( or doesn't) POA system, inheritance tax, deprivation of assets

Property
How fiddly the system is now compared to the past if buying - lots of it I think to tick boxes and prevent suuing

Health
Realising that so many people have underlying illness/conditions /disorders that you simply 'can't see'

Nothatgingerpirate · 17/12/2024 14:37

StormingNorman · 17/12/2024 12:26

There are a lot of stone-hearted women out there who’ll trample over or disregard peoples’ feelings in the name of ‘boundaries’. It’s been quite depressing.

Oh, really?
What's the answer, Norman?
Have your privacy breached in order not to hurt someone's feelings?
One thing I learned is if you don't put yourself first, nobody else would do it for you.
The happily trample over you to serve their little lives!

Shopgirl2 · 17/12/2024 14:52

That I'm not learning enough on here to warrant the time I've spent reading on here (as a form of procrastination). Time to move on 😬
