Good Morning All! What are you all up to today?

I'm just drinking my first brew of the day, in my kitchen spot. The kittens have been fed, & have gone back to bed upstairs I think. No-one else is up just yet, so it's lovely and quiet, although dd2 did want to get up fairly early I think.

I haven't got much planned for today - wash & dry the towels, and possibly my bedding is top of the list! And I want to ice my friend's dad's Christmas cake so I can drop it in one day this coming week. Other than that, I might fix the Christmas tree that the kittens went climbing in yesterday 🙄

Dd1 will have college work to do, so will be doing that when she surfaces! And dd2 is off out with a friend for a walk & then home to wrap a couple of gifts for her friends. They'll probably stop off at Tesco for a meal deal to eat as they walk, as usual!

We're having roast pork and stuffing sandwiches for tea, with roast spuds and gravy on the side 😋

This evening it'll be early showers all round & then probably more crochet for me, followed by a very early night ready for work in the morning after I took last week off ill.

How can you talk kittens without pics!

Dd3 woke me up an hour ago to tell me she found a dice 😒.

Lazy morning ahead, although I do need to pop out for some chicken as I forgot to get some yesterday and we're having fajitas for lunch.

Making some fudge this afternoon for teachers and then we have our church candlelight carols this evening.

I thought today was going to be a bit meh but actually writing it down makes it sound quite lovely! Thanks OP!

@OrangesCinammonIvy so sorry 🤣 First is girl kitten rolling around trying to get treats, second is boy kitten helping me wrap 🙄 third is both of them with their fish toy. Not sure what they make of the fish tbh!

Feeling tetchy because I have the bl…y cold that DH had a few days ago 😡 He was coughing, sneezing and spluttering everywhere, selfish git.
My throat is like sandpaper, I have a headache and I barely slept.
I’m going to have to cancel three invitations for the beginning of this week too.
About to have a hot bath and go back to bed 🙄

Been up for a while so came down to read on the sofa. DH has just surfaced and is making coffee, DD still fast asleep.

I have an exciting call to make this morning about the possibility of 2 new sets of (big) paws that may be coming to live with me...

Need to put the finishing touches to the GF Tunis cake I made for my dad as we're seeing him for lunch today. DD wants to come home via the yard but that'll be dependent on how exhausted she is after lunch. She's really struggling with being unwell.

Baked Camembert and bits for tea, and then probably an early night to continue watching Chicago med.

Just browsing in bed.

My eldest DS is about to head to work, I can hear his multiple alarms pinging.

My youngest DS is home doing college work and my DH is rummaging around in the kitchen about or bring me a coffee.

We are decorating both painting walls and Christmas today so up earlier than I would normally be up on a Sunday, lots to do.

And then off to the pub later to meet some friends, I'll manage a dog walk and sell.

Just wish the sun would appear.

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone - awake fairly early as DH wanted to crack on with cleaning out the bunnies before taking DD16 Christmas shopping. I’m working this afternoon but finish at 4 so it’s not too bad. Going to be manic though! Not long finished a cuppa made by DH & remembered I was going to pop out for milk. I’ve unloaded/loaded the dishwasher & the washing machine nearly has enough in it to go on. Need to wrap DBro & DSil’s pressies tonight as they’re down next week. We’re having chicken tagine with Lebanese flatbreads for tea - think I’ll get some couscous as well or it won’t be filling enough. Might order some more alcohol free drinks for the big day.

@Justonedayatatime11 how old are the kittens now? They must be so grown up!

i am watching the Strictly final on iplayer as I was out last night. I then need to ice the Christmas cake, and make some buffet food for a party later on. Then prepare for the party, which I am looking forwards to but it will be chaos!

Good morning Lucysmam and All - loving the pics of your kittens.

DD and I are off to see my Mum for the day shortly and then hoping to get home about 5 so can get final work/school stuff ready for the last week. We both break up on Friday and then have 2 weeks off for the Xmas break and it can’t come quick enough😀.

Still laying in bed after being out last night. Contemplating a mcds breakfast but not sure if I can be bothered to drive to get it. Hmm. DH & DC are out at football. I'm home alone this morning. Need to clean the bathroom but cba. But it really needs doing. Off out with DC later for a few hours then home to maybe start wrapping. Beef Roast later.

Morning all, Busy day here in the Sortalike house, DH and DD will be tackling the room of doom, doing the food shopping as well as undergoing a secret mission I am not allowed to ask about. I will be getting the rest of the house ship shape, before heading out this evening to tour the town in search of the best decorated house.

Going to a carol service in London. DD is singing a solo. She’s in the choir so looking forward to it!

Laying in bed at moment , we were all woken early by a parcel delivery.

Nurse coming to attend to my dressings (open wound after extensive hysterectomy surgery and subsequent infection) at some stage and some family calling in to see how I am. Got a bonus water infection that isn’t clearing so apart from writing a few Christmas cards and a little bit of tidying up nothing else happening.

Very little festive joy here I’m afraid but trying to be a patient patient 😬

Good morning all, we need to tidy up this morning after a party at ours the night before. We were all up too late so everyone is in pjs or in the case of ds, still in bed. Then I’m going to wander over to my friends with her birthday present before cooking a roast beef dinner and possibly doing some wrapping and getting ready for work tomorrow. Basically, it’s going to be a quiet one.

Having my second coffee and then we will tidy up the house a bit, go and do some shopping - I need foil trays for the turkey etc. Then I’m going to make a vat of chilli for tea and for DHs tea tomorrow when I’m out on a Christmas do.

This thread makes me aspire to be more homely and know what my family is doing…

My aim today is to get showered and dressed, bonus if the kitchen ends up clean. Yesterday I was ill and it’s wiped out all my weekend plans.

It's already chosen and paid for. We just need to collect it today. It's a Fraser fir
