What's the craziest behaviour you've witnessed at a Christmas work do?

Years ago there were a couple of (female) Head of Departments that were frenemies. They actually worked really well together but there was an undercurrent of rivalry there. That year at the Christmas do they were friendly enough to start off with but a couple of bottles of vino later the gloves came off - one of them accused the other of giving a member of her team a BJ in her office, she totally kicked off and the pair of them ended up on the dance floor rolling around trying to pull each other's hair out. It was completely nuts. One of them later resigned and HR released a policy of how to behave when on work socials. That was the last year the company held a Christmas party.

Always take photos and keep the evidence so you've got ammunition.

If someone had disrespected me to this degree, I would have to get revenge on them somehow.

At ours there was a guy, who I think must have been on drugs, being absolutely vile to the women on his table and it just got worse as the night went on. He said a few times that he has no interest in anything that a woman has to say. He repeatedly referred to us as 'birthers'. A particular highlight was him saying 'I told you I don't care what birthers think, especially when they are fat pigs' and then he laughed to himself for ages.
5 complaints have been made to HR and his line manager. Our company bangs on a lot about wanting to support women in business and asking how they can support them. Let's see if they are prepared to put their money where their mouth is and sack this guy.

He has been fired.
Fantastic result.

That's good. We had someone slap some female staff members across the backside, but he appears to have kept his job, despite many witnesses and complaints being made.

I am fucking raging.

I once managed a maintenance department in a chemical company.

Maintenance Supervisor: We've discussed where we want to have our department Christmas party. We want to go Girls! Girls! Girls! across the railroad tracks.
Me: (trying to imagine sitting down to Christmas dinner with 11 maintenance mechanics in a strip club) I don't think HR will go for that.

Instead he set up a stage in the maintenance area, erected a Christmas tree on it, converted an unused 55 gallon drum into a barbecue, and hired a mariachi band, the sort of mariachi band that has horns. Most of the site gravitated over there over the course of the afternoon, including most of the corporate offices.

It was epic.
