Heard on the radio about how so many women in Scandinavian countries are becoming trad wives.
These are not just stay at home mums these are believing in the whole men work and women stay at home . Very traditional gender split.
Then on the radio talking now how many young men are following reform. A backlash against feminism and of course same old thing angry young men are attracted to the far right as they tell them it's everyone else to blame for their problems.
Andrew tate bollox a form of radicalisation which farage has jumped on.
I just find all this depressing.
Even listening today about how them footballers didn't want a pride flag on their kit.
You can't catch being gay. We haven't even had a fully committed gay footballer at the top as there is alot of homophonia amongst fans
I just find this a backward slide do you?

Go and educate yourself then

Somehow I don't think any amount of education would help in trying to get to the bottom of this thread.

He doesn’t wear it because he is a practising Muslim, he hasn’t expressed any homophobic opinions himself- and the pride flag is about much more than simply being gay. I am fully supportive of the LGB community but if my employer tried to force me to wear anything pride-branded I wouldn’t do it.

He's a practicing Muslim, which means probably that he is homophobic. Doesn't matter how you try to wash it up. The fact it is, he doesn't want to wear it. Why is that? What would a flag do to you? That is a symbol of gay people, unless, of course you don't like people being gay

It is a straightforward sign of the times.

Entirely and unfortunately predictable.

There is a global period of economic uncertainty and the social trends at these times are towards the right and marginalisation and vilification of minorities, any and all minorities.

And women are on the sharp end of this as well.

Whenever minorities, be they LGBTQ, ethnic minority groups etc are targeted, victimised and suffering, women are struggling too.

The correlation is clear.

Screamingabdabz · 05/12/2024 00:16

I wouldn’t wear a women-hating pride arm band either.

It’s absolutely nothing to do with that, as nobody here can tell your background. It’s your tone, that manages to be patronizing and childish at the same time.

Oh wow my tone . Interesting nothing to say about the question I posed then

Hey OP. Which is worse, homophobia or racism?

Do you understand how it works? With other people's opinions, I haven't assumed you are a troll. Why are you assuming that I am a troll? Because you do not agree with my opinions. That's the problemNowadays, people can't understand that there are other people that disagree with them

At least you have tried to actually answer my question. I believe there is a lot of people on this group now from reform and the right, possibly reform themselves every time you pose something like this, you get attacked

Soz @Littlemissgobby for using the word poof. That'll be my right wing tendencies slipping out again.

You should look at the stats.

In the countries where LGBTQ communities are supported and the happiest, women are also the happiest, as measured by any reputable gender equality index.

And why would this deliberately go away? I don't want it to go away. Why would it be reported? I also don't find that very funny because there are people that are gay evidently, we're now dealing with schoolchildren

Your opinions are making no sense. You are being extremely critical of other people's opinions. Namely the footballer who would not wear the rainbow shirt. His body. His choice. Not yours.

TofuTart · 05/12/2024 00:21

@Littlemissgobby you make some great points, and there's another interesting thread been started about men and Reform on this board you might be interested in looking at too.
As for the poster saying "what rise of the right?"
they're either taking the piss or completely blind/closed off.

O I mean it is perfectly obvious.

And the naysayers are well aware of this as well

But it is not in their interests to acknowledge.
