They don’t take the last of the milk and save it for mum’s morning cup of tea because they know you love the first cup of tea of the day .

I was touched by my kind boys this morning aged 13 and 9. Any more to share today?

That is lovely.

Mine is they listen when you talk about things you like, save it in their phone, tell their Dad and you get it as a surprise birthday gift not knowing that this was happening, ie not deliberately dropping hints. Ds1 was 13 when he did that. Mind you I have a very lovely husband so he sets a great example.

Mine are now 21 and 18 and adorable boys.

You get a text in the middle of the night saying mum the cat's been sick in my bedroom 🤣🤣

Wow , what an incredibly thoughtful 13 year old he was . You are a lucky mum!

@leia24 yep then they expect you to play hunt the puke!! 🤢🤣🤣

My 3 circled which toy they wanted in the toy catalogue for Christmas. Just a small item each. When I said we will have to do a list for Santa they said "but we've already chosen" meaning they thought that was all they'd get for Christmas.

I had to taken them to the toy shop to get some more ideas ❤️

I'm in a choir. Occasionally, when I perform, I ask if anyone's free to come and watch for a bit.

My two boys (28 and 17), along with DP (who isn't their Dad) come along and make a little line of staunch, arm-folded support. They're not musical, they don't particularly like choirs, but they come because they want to support me.

It makes my heart swell 😁

@olympicsrock I think it helps that Dh will leave a massive hand drawn love heart stuck to a shelf in the fridge for me to find. So my sons saw that too. He also cleared my windscreen of ice with the boys sat in his car waiting for it to demist. He taught them to think and care for others. They know Grandad has told them a story a million times before but they listen patiently because we reminded them before he came that this is Dad's Dad and he listened to you prattle on about Roblox or whatever.

I have an incredible husband raised by an amazing woman, I in turn have raised two thoughtful, caring men.

The other night we were all going to see Sam Fender in Dublin. Dh & I weren’t drinking so brought the car and gave ds20, his friend and his gf a lift. DD16 with us too. We were running late so dropped them all off and we went to park. Stress then because I had forgotten to give DD16 her ticket, was trying to transfer it, sent it to the wrong email. 🤦🏻‍♀️ All while trying to navigate maps and where to park. DD16 was panicking and frozen solid so ds20 gave her his ticket and sent her in with his gf and his mate while he waited for us to turn up and try and sort out the ticket fiasco. He even said he’d just try and find someone who was selling a ticket. I had of course sorted it out on TM by then but I did think it was pretty good of him. He missed a fair chunk of the support so his little sister could go in straight away.

My DD (14) came home from school the other day to find me napping with baby, i woke up to a cup of tea on my bedside table, DS (12) bought me a kinder bueno (my favourite chocolate bar) out of his pocket money couple weeks ago- because “i always make him happy” lol in spring or summer i sometimes get flowers they have picked on the way home from school with little notes for when i get back from picking DD (9) up from school lol xx

What a lovely thread OP.
The replies make me feel so emotional and hopeful for our future - what lovely children.

I'm now wracking my brains to try and think of lovely things my YAs have done.. 😄

When they are out with friends wearing the hoodie look and say hello to people so they don't get scared.

watchuswreckthemic · 04/12/2024 08:55

My 13 year old bought me a tea advent calendar as a surprise. Really needed a little lift, made me well up with tears ❤️

You have raised really nice children who are not greedy .

You do something good and they
A. Give you house points
B. Tell you you're a good girl

They also share food with anyone who asks which is hilarious when it's an adult teasing them and they then get force fed soft biscuit cos the 4 year olds don't get the tease.

Hayley1256 · 04/12/2024 09:47

Mines been hiding all the chocolate and eating the ferro roches to help me with my diet 🙃

haveyouopenedyourbowelstoday · 04/12/2024 09:54

My 2 year old grandson saying 'good boy using the potty' to me!

Mygreyhair · 04/12/2024 10:09

DD23 sent me a late night text telling me her and her friends were discussing gratitude and the conversation turned to mothers. She told me how much she loved me and appreciated me ❤️

TadpolesInPool · 04/12/2024 10:10

I came down with a temperature and tummy bug 2 days ago. My 10 and 13 year olds were really bothered that I felt ill - they said they felt really sorry for me and kept going to hug me but I said no cos I didn't want them to get it.

They kept offering me water and coming to check on how I was feeling.

Parenting them has been so hard (ND) but they are lovely and caring.

Cattery · 04/12/2024 10:14

When my oldest son was small he said to me “I care more for you than I do for myself”. He’ll be 36 tomorrow and he’s such a lovely bloke ❤️

My 8o has complex special needs but is an absolute blast to be around and makes everyone he meets happy.

I recently picked him up from school and his head teacher said “he made me cry today…he came up to me and told me how beautiful I looked, and when I said thank you to him he said it’s because I have a beautiful heart and it shines through”
