A compromise between buying ready-made and making from scratch is to use a jar of curry sauce. I've always preferred Sharwood's to Patak's but the Aldi sauces with the pot of spices are ridiculously good value and good quality, especially the saag masala and balti.

Thanks for the suggestion. And the spice tailor kits but really I need a microwave curry not one that needs any cooking on the oven. People might look down on the microwave meal but that's what I need on Tuesdays. I'm going to m&s to get next weeks and then I'll try and see if I can get a lamb one from waitrose.

Aldi butter chicken ( the luxury range ) is beautiful and enough for 2 portions

I second this

Another vote for M&S. Their tikka masala is lovely.

Sainsbury's does an authentic brand of ready made Punjabi samosas. Really good. The brand is Royal (they also do some nice microwave curries).

We love Iceland ones....I always have chicken balti.

Butter chicken in our house. My DD27 is ND and particular about eat she eats when. Frozen helps enormously!

My only big shop that's close-ish is Sainsburys. When a microwave curry calls it is:

Lamb bhuna (sp ?) nicely spicy and quite a lot of meat and is tender.

Prawn makhani - just not enough prawns.

Butter chicken - a good balance of sauce, chicken and rice.

Thai red prawn curry but a bit too much sauce and again only a few prawns.

I love a quick ping curry 🙈

And not quite a curry but M&S do a fantastic noodle beef thing (Shanghai noodles I think it's called). Lots of beef, noodles and crunchy veggies. Throw in a Chinese side pack that can go in the air fryer with some sweet chilli sauce for dipping 🥰

Costco butter chicken

M&S do a lamb rogan Josh too @SpeculativeHoumous

Also @SingingSands looking for M&S chicken curry; might it be the Chinese range chicken curry (red and white packaging) or the fruity chicken curry that sits with more traditional ready meals like toad in the hole and cottage pie?

It's not exactly what was asked for but I also had a daal by Bol recently and it was really nice and the ingredients were not too bad so it could be a healthy side, possibly? Or just a quick meal when there's not time to cook.

The Bom Bahia range in Asda is fantastic! Their dal makhni is divine.
