Just heard his comments on the news….unbelievable.

God forbid that middle class, middle-aged women dare to have opinions on his revolting behaviour and speak out about it. If only all women were simple-minded, manipulable Andrew Tate submissives. How much easier the world would be for talentless market traders of a certain age.

Apate · 01/12/2024 09:16

Eugh. Actually I'm glad he's said it because it proves just what a vile piece of shit he is. That comment at the end regarding imagining how many women etc just demonstrates his total ignorance of the imbalance if power between men and women and also particularly female contestants and an established male tv presenter who is judging their cooking.

This is the exact conversation I was as having with my DP just now! He REALLY doesn’t get it does he?!

SabrinaToolmaker · 01/12/2024 11:19

There was also the Asian woman called Mimi who Gregg (who we know gets very offended if someone misses off the second G) decided to call YouYou. I don’t think that was on the BBC though, some cooking event iirc.

pushchairprincess · 01/12/2024 11:21

How to put the final nail in the coffin of your 'career' - Bye bye Greg

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 01/12/2024 11:23

@NonPlayerCharacter Also, apart from the ageism, that remark about middle aged women implies that the reason they are complaining is that they are past fancying him, whereas everyone else does. He's a fantasist.

CountTo10 · 01/12/2024 11:25

Read this and my first thought was 'doesn't he have a PR advisor' then I thought even if he does he's the sort of person he's so arrogant that he will always think he's right and will know best and do/say what he wants. The only advice he may taken for that video was to keep his shirt on 😂😂

But he just seems to be digging himself deeper and deeper and he's so thick he just can't see it 😂

LadyGabriella · 01/12/2024 11:26

You can tell all the claims about him are probably true. He comes across very badly.

"He finished his statement by saying: "In over 20 years of television, can you imagine how many women, female contestants on MasterChef, have made sexual remarks or sexual innuendo - can you imagine?"

No. I cannot imagine making a sexual remark to Greg(g) Wallace. I really can't.

Ewww, me either😂

Butteredtoast55 · 01/12/2024 11:26

I remember him being such a revolting creep on Strictly. You could sense that he made his partner's flesh crawl and her relief when he was voted out.

BriceNobeslovesMurielHeslop · 01/12/2024 11:27

I’m not going to repeat them here, but there has been rumours about H F-W for years.

OnTheBounce · 01/12/2024 11:27

'So, Gregg, here's my quarter final menu - a starter of Hard Cheese with a side of Sour Grapes, followed by a complex festive speciality - Foot in Mouth stuffed up an Arse, with a large slice of Humble Pie to follow. What? You can't eat the Humble Pie because it's undercooked? OK. It is missing a few ingredients, to be fair.'

YesterdaysFuture · 01/12/2024 11:15

Hugh F-W is another old-Etonian, who probably thinks "that's just how the working-class are". No different to all the other executives within British cultural organisations.

Ah so they're throwing women under the bus so they're not seen as classist. Wonderful.

Cackle · 01/12/2024 11:29

The fucking audacity and arrogance of this knobcheese

JadedCat · 01/12/2024 11:29

HaveYouActuallyDoneAnyWashingThisWeekMum · 01/12/2024 09:14

Just heard a second clip in which he says - do you know how many women in 20 years of me doing Masterchef have made sexual comments or used sexual innuendo towards me?

Keep digging, Greg 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Maybe I'm naïve, maybe I'm just thick, but even at my advanced age I simply cannot understand where men like Greg buy their mirrors from. It's obvious that when they stand in front of a mirror they see George Clooney reflected back!
How could any woman resist….unfathomable. 😂

BringMeTea · 01/12/2024 11:29

@marmaladeandpeanutbutter yes and also women HE doesn't consider worth shagging. He does it all the time on Masterchef, scarcely concealed contempt for 'women of a certain age' while giving (what he thinks are) winning gurns to younger women. Such an obvious little man.

Butteredtoast55 · 01/12/2024 11:30

Gregg Wallace is disgusting and on a different level but I do think that the producers of Bake Off need to be having a serious conversation about the innuendo in that and really consider how inappropriate some comments are. The presenters need to tread very carefully I feel.

friendlycat · 01/12/2024 11:30

Well that's the end of his TV career.

But once again it raises yet more questions as to how the BBC handles these matters. Complaints were raised over a period of years, crew witnessed and were subjected to his behaviour, yet he still carried on presenting for the BBC.

Iamacatslave · 01/12/2024 11:30

He’s toast.

Eyestothehorizon558 · 01/12/2024 11:31

Aroastdinnerisnotahumanright · 01/12/2024 11:13

Hugh F-W's comment was awful, really minimising Greg's behaviour. It's not bawdy, it's sexual harassment for fuck's sake.

I do like how the only person so who has defended a woman here is the man famous for the deep lyrics "All you did was wreck my bed, and in the morning kick me in the head". I was never a rod Stewart fan but might give him another listen...

This is a very timely comment as I have a few of his books and I was wondering whether to declutter them or not.

Decision made! 😄

GeorgeMichaelsCat · 01/12/2024 11:31

He's played this completely wrong.

Tisthesaizon · 01/12/2024 11:32

Did he not run this by this PR team or something? 😅I hadn’t anything about this before but this statement actually lends more credence to these women’s claims. His disdain for women is clear.

LadyGabriella · 01/12/2024 11:34

I agree in his head he’s George Clooney.

Ellerby83 · 01/12/2024 11:35

Id imagine his PR team are not returning his calls. They know his career is over

speakball · 01/12/2024 11:36

Darvo. ‘Don’t be so sensitive’ etc. Very poor media advice or something else going on.

LucieChardon · 01/12/2024 11:36

"He finished his statement by saying: "In over 20 years of television, can you imagine how many women, female contestants on MasterChef, have made sexual remarks or sexual innuendo - can you imagine?"
