We were only young schoolgirls. Convent ones. I remember her asking me once, when I was older; 'You're not gonna be a Nun are you, because you won't get any.' We all looked like frightened sheep and thought she was quite mad... We used to call her Marianne.

It took me years to find out who Marianne Faithfull was, and to get her rather filthy reference. I think she like to humiliate us for the benefit of any men in the shop. She must have thought it was hilarious.
