Good Morning All! What are you all up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. The kittens have hijacked the straw cleaning brush I keep in the dish drainer & are playing with that 🙄 and everyone else is asleep still 💤. The washer's on already, so the washing's done nice and early, but it's otherwise peaceful down here 😊

My only plans for today are to finish the last part of assembling the sausage dog this morning, upload a few more things to Vinted, and cook a roast gammon dinner later on. Otherwise, lots of gentle pottering is in order. I've just remembered - dd2 has one bag of homeless things in her room she wants help with, so probably sorting that too!

Both girls have homework to be done, so I expect they'll spend the day doing that, when they get up! Dd1 will have a good few hours to be done, and dd2 has been writing revision cards for herself as she goes so she'll likely do that too.

Tonight it's my usual Self-Care Sunday scrubby everything shower, and then I'll have another go at the church for my thread crochet village. Only the third (maybe fourth) year I'll have tried it 🤣

Early night tonight all round, ready for another week of school and work 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Currently waiting for Glastonbury tickets to go on sale

lucysmam · 17/11/2024 08:57

Good luck @HurdyGurdy19 ! Dd1 vaguely mentioned them last night but isn't up so I guess she wasn't that bothered 🤷‍♀️

Waiting for Glasto also. Can’t eat or drink 😀😀

Starlightstarbright3 · 17/11/2024 08:58

Going to work .

PermanentTemporary · 17/11/2024 09:00

Good morning all,
I'm not at all well this weekend so am still in bed and couldn't drink my coffee Shock I'm going to try and get up and go and see my mum though as due to my mother in law dying and another family event I haven't seen her for two weeks. I really, really need to be well this week so I'm hoping mind over matter will work and will try to have a walk later as well.

frozendaisy · 17/11/2024 09:02

Off to art in the big smoke
Would love to go Glastonbury but the ticket purchasing puts us all off!

So need to get up, shower, get a taxi.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday and the kittens don't destroy the house, don't they make wool crafts difficult?

ssd · 17/11/2024 09:03

Hi @lucysmam , hope you are keeping well. I'm still in bed, looking forward to my tea and toast. I'm a creature of habit.

Hope you feel better soon @PermanentTemporary

Whiskyfromsmallglasses · 17/11/2024 09:04

I'm still in bed and ds 13 is still sleeping. He will be going with his grandparents this afternoon as he does every second Sunday and I'm taking my dad for a carvery. Other than that I want to finish my book and do a little more of my cross stitch Christmas card

Crunchymum · 17/11/2024 09:04

Waiting for the food shopping to arrive, just had a shower and older two are finishing their homework.

We plan to head out about 11 to meet my BIL and SIL and their 4 kids at the "big park" so kids can all have a good run around. My lovely inlaws used to be local but moved away and they are currently visiting so I'm so excited (DP is working but he managed a few pints with his brother last night and saw his neices and nephews)

After the park we'll head to PIL for lunch / dinner and I've got a birthday cake and and some sweet treats in honour of DC1 who had a birthday late last week.

Won't be a late evening so it will be a film and an early night.

BelievingIsSeeing · 17/11/2024 09:05

Been awake since 7:30. Washing is on and I'm currently sat downstairs with a cuppa listening to LO and DH playing upstairs (probably sounds run of the mill on here but LO is adopted and has only been here a few weeks) so I’m literally sat here enjoying the noise.

Today's plans are to spend the morning pottering/playing and attempting some housework. Roast dinner using some turkey breast parcels I found in the bargain fridge in Sainsbury's yesterday and a walk and play in the park this afternoon.
Then my evening will be doing either bath or bedtime for LO before settling down to a Christmas film and online Christmas shopping Xmas Smile

Singleandproud · 17/11/2024 09:09

Having a cup of M&S Christmas spiced tea - it's very nice

DD has a rugby match today, so will be out and wrapped up for that soon although we have blue sky and sunshine here which is great. It's a home match so don't have to trek half way across the county. Fingers always crossed for no injuries although thankfully we can see the hospital from our home unlike many in the county who are a good hour away from one.

Then it's shopping and tackling the monster ironing pile, I'll possible allow myself a cheesy Hallmark Christmas film while I deal with it although it's still a tad early for that.

GiraffeTree · 17/11/2024 09:10

Good morning. DH and DS have just left for DS's football match and DD and I will be leaving for her netball match in an hour. I'll do a Sunday roast later on - gammon like yours, @lucysmam!

Sorry about your MIL @PermanentTemporary Sad

RabbitsRock · 17/11/2024 09:11

Good morning @lucysmam & the Sunday gang. Sunny here in Cornwall but sadly I have to go to work later. It will be crazy busy. Just finishing a cuppa & will pop to Asda when it opens - I went with DD15 yesterday but still need a couple of bits. Hoping there isn’t a massive queue at the pharmacy. Ontop of the laundry. Dishwasher needs unloading/loading. DH hoping to go for a bike ride this aft. He hasn’t managed to go for over a week. Nice tea of steaks, creamy garlic mushrooms, chips & peas. I might paint my nails. Two coats as they chipped more or less straight away last time. I have a lovely shade from Avon called Madarin.

Andnowshesatoddler · 17/11/2024 09:12

Waiting for my DD to wake up snuggled in bed on our devises when she wakes up we will all get ready and pop to blow some energy off her before hopefully she will have a nap and this afternoon sit and watch some sort of Christmas film she's only two so I can imagine lots of pauses!

lucysmam · 17/11/2024 09:15

@frozendaisy surprisingly not! They've only ever tangled one ball of (unfortunately expensive for me) yarn & that was my fault really for not thinking to put it out of sight. Boy kitten likes the end result though & tried to pinch the first Trevor when I brought him home for a repair 🤣

Can't move to pick up the crochet now mind...

Good Morning All! What are you all up to today?

Another Glastonbury sitter here. Then out. On a guided mushroom foraging expedition.

Ooh @olderbutwiser that sounds fascinating!

Work. Day 3 of 12.5 hour shifts but have a couple of days off after today 💤💤💤

Taytocrisps · 17/11/2024 09:19

Morning @lucysmam. Sounds like you're having a quiet, cosy day. A local lady knits a crib every year and then raffles it off for charity. I'd love to win one. Having a quiet start to my day. In a minute, I'm going to pull out the lovely plate I've ordered for my friend in Australia. It arrived during the week and is still in the box. Just taking it out to check it arrived ok and is as nice as it looked on the website (it's a reputable company so should be). I'll wrap it later in the week when the wrapping paper I ordered has arrived. I need to post it soon.

Then I'm going to order tickets to shows for my DD, DSis and Ddad as Christmas presents. I might order the clothes DD wants also. I called into the shop, but they didn't have any of the clothes in stock. It's that time of year - Christmas occupying a lot of my thoughts.

A few hours of housework and laundry, then dinner prep.

I've to collect DD from work at 6 o'clock.

This evening I've a meeting of a community group I'm involved with. If it finishes early enough, I'll watch 'Wolf Hall'. I'm recording WF just in case. Have a lovely Sunday everyone. I'll make some toast in a minute and read back.

Justhere65 · 17/11/2024 09:21

Lying in bed reading my book with the day stretching out ahead of me with no plans. Might go for a wander round the garden centre and walk our dog in the woods (
and try not to think about food)!
Have a lovely day everyone.

JMAngel1 · 17/11/2024 09:22

@Singleandproud it’s never to early for a cheesy Hallmark Christmas film 😂

Morning all - still in bed drinking a cappuccino and reading ahead on Christmas Chronicles - feel like I’m cheating.

I’m particularly tired this morning as had to wait up late last night to collect DD1 from a party - the joys of having a teenager!

I’m planning a slowish morning - promised myself an aromatherapy bath with classical music playing, then will need to attack the laundry as I was out all day yesterday and got nothing done (to be honest, I’m socially exhausted as met up with waaaay to many friends yesterday).

Quick clean around too then have to pop to Altrincham to take a damaged lamp back - may have a have a cheeky coffee and cannoli whilst I’m there.

Then dinner, uniforms, usual Sunday night fayre.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 17/11/2024 09:24

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I love the photo of the kitten. I have had two coffees and a slice of toast. I've been up since half seven which is a long lie for me. All the housework and washing was done yesterday apart from my dressing gown. I'll wash that today, put it away and bring out the winter one. It's 0° here at the moment and snow is forecast for tomorrow. I have a quick trip out for wrapping paper and later I'll visit mum in hospital. Dinner tonight will be chicken and leek pie. Enjoy your day

Needingacoffee · 17/11/2024 09:30

Not up to anything exciting. Doubt my mind, or body could cope with it right now. Head is in a bit of a fast moving whirlwind. Had brain surgery on Tuesday, in a specialist hospital for Neuro stuff, in Central London. Am in waiting limbo, to see if lump removed is Cancerous or not. My next outpatients is coming up on Thursday (21st)... Argh! Can't keep up with it all in my brain really at times. Oops! 😶‍🌫️😪 If only I could relax, and sleep until near then. That would be an absolute bonus for me, and would help me feel more able to muddle by/cope better. 🫣

Peridot1 · 17/11/2024 09:33

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

Love reading what everyone is up to.

I’ve been up a while. It’s very quiet now without the dog to welcome me when I come down. I have had a few cups of tea and some toast and did my NYT games. DH is up and in the study. DS will surface later.

No major plans here today. I’ll put some washing on in a bit and I need to clean the downstairs cloakroom. Planning a deep clean of the whole house this week so will start with smallest room in the house today. Also need to sort out some stuff for charity.

Need to nip out for milk too.

Steak and pepper sauce, mushrooms, onions and roast potatoes here for dinner. And wine.

Peridot1 · 17/11/2024 09:34

@Needingacoffee - best wishes for good results. I’m sure it’s a huge stress.
