I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. The kittens have hijacked the straw cleaning brush I keep in the dish drainer & are playing with that 🙄 and everyone else is asleep still 💤. The washer's on already, so the washing's done nice and early, but it's otherwise peaceful down here 😊

My only plans for today are to finish the last part of assembling the sausage dog this morning, upload a few more things to Vinted, and cook a roast gammon dinner later on. Otherwise, lots of gentle pottering is in order. I've just remembered - dd2 has one bag of homeless things in her room she wants help with, so probably sorting that too!

Both girls have homework to be done, so I expect they'll spend the day doing that, when they get up! Dd1 will have a good few hours to be done, and dd2 has been writing revision cards for herself as she goes so she'll likely do that too.

Tonight it's my usual Self-Care Sunday scrubby everything shower, and then I'll have another go at the church for my thread crochet village. Only the third (maybe fourth) year I'll have tried it 🤣

Early night tonight all round, ready for another week of school and work 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning! DH got up early with DS today and left me to lie in, and now he’s making sausage and egg sandwiches while getting a beef stew into the slow cooker. He’s an angel!

We’re having a slow day at home and I’ll crack through a load of housework. There is a cupboard I keep saying I’ll declutter, and another that needs a good clean, so I might so that. I considered taking DS swimming this afternoon but I might take him for a runaround at the park instead. I also plan to sit with my laptop and plan Christmas presents as I’ve not even started yet and need to consider what I’m spending. This evening I expect DH and I will watch a film and gear ourselves up for a busy week at work.

Been awake since 7:30. Washing is on and I'm currently sat downstairs with a cuppa listening to LO and DH playing upstairs (probably sounds run of the mill on here but LO is adopted and has only been here a few weeks) so I’m literally sat here enjoying the noise.

Today's plans are to spend the morning pottering/playing and attempting some housework. Roast dinner using some turkey breast parcels I found in the bargain fridge in Sainsbury's yesterday and a walk and play in the park this afternoon.
Then my evening will be doing either bath or bedtime for LO before settling down to a Christmas film and online Christmas shopping Xmas Smile

Edited

That sounds so nice. Congrats on the LO x

Morning all! 💐

Early morning start to the day, DS has a birthday party and its next to a spin class I've always wanted to try so I've just been DESTROYED by that and am now sitting in the car feeling every muscle in my body as I wait for DS to be done with the party.

Our town is having a Christmas light switch on/festival this afternoon, so if I can get my legs to work again we'll go there next and wonder around for a bit. Will find something for DS to eat and I'll try and get a smoothie or something to keep the healthy streak going 😂

Putting the Christmas tree up later this afternoon I think - probably with The Polar Express on in the background - and will put on a beige freezer meal for dinner 😋

dontforgetme · 17/11/2024 10:55

Good morning @lucysmam and all!

After Christmas dec shopping yesterday I am absolutely itching to put the trees up but we are looking after a family members dog for a couple nights tomorrow so am going to wait til next weekend. After thoroughly de-dogging my house on my day off Friday!

A day in the house for us today, I have just put a beef stroganoff in the slow cooker. Oh doing some DIY jobs whilst I get on with a mountain of laundry. Kids are camped out on the sofa watching tv. Nice chilled day for us, it's very much needed.

Have lovely Sundays all!

asterixa · 17/11/2024 11:06

Morning! My star DH took both kids to their swimming classes with his mum to help look after them (separate classes), so I could have a lie in (10.45, unheard of), after recovering from a nasty cold. Meeting them in town when they’re finished, as PILs are treating us to lunch.

Housework, homework and a film this afternoon, then mussels and sea bass for dinner with some salad and crusty bread,

Arraminta · 17/11/2024 11:09

Stayed up very late last night reading, so overslept. I need all the coffee! DD has just messaged, very excited, to say she and her friends have got Glastonbury tickets.

It's bright and sunny here, so going to pop out for a pub lunch with DH followed by a walk. Later we're going to finish watching The Rings of Power.

DilemmaDelilah · 17/11/2024 11:10

@TribulationPeriwinkle only if you pay for your own Christmas meal out! It's eye-wateringly expensive! If you were just coming round to ours then just a contribution to the food and drink would be fine 😁. Msinly the drink - we arent really meant to drink on our meds so I tend not to have much in the house. A nice bottle of port would go down well.....

Fish pie is a tradition - we don't start the Christmas food until Christmas Day. Boxing Day was always left over turkey, sausages, chestnut stuffing, cold home-cooked ham, lots of salad and baked potatoes. There won't be any turkey this year but we can still have the ham, salad and baked potatoes.

I have to make sure I have everything ready in advance in case I'm not well at the time.

Finally finishes - Pig the Pug, and his friend Trevor 🐶

@DilemmaDelilah Happy to pay for my own Christmas dinner if I can also come for the fish pie!

@lucysmam loving Pig & Trevor!

And me

They are so cute @lucysmam , You are very talented

Soccermumamir · 17/11/2024 11:30

Hi everyone,

Not been on here for ages. Sorry to hear about someone's MIL passing away (sorry I'm terrible with names).

Been up since 7:30, currently sat with a 3rd coffee whilst the chicken is cooking for dinner. I've done all the washing and done a workout - first one in a long time. I really need to prioritise my health more. First Sunday in ages the boys don't have a football match. So pottering around this morning whilst I cook a Sunday dinner. OH is off to the shops in a bit to get packed lunch stuff for the week ahead. Then I'm going to chill this afternoon, baths and showers all round tonight, ready for another busy week of work, uni and school 😆

EachandEveryone · 17/11/2024 11:34

I managed to get Glasto tickets so super pleased about that. The. Spent four grand on glamping but between three of us so bye bye Tenerife in January unfortunately. I cracked open the fortnum and Mason orange and champagne marmalade to celebrate. I know it’s not December yet but I’m also thinking about the tree. I don’t know if I can be bothered or not as I have a naughty little stray kitten who now rules the roost.

Good Morning All! What are you all up to today?
Dirtydancing1 · 17/11/2024 11:55

Morning everyone.
DH has gone to the shops to get a couple of bits to go with our roast dinner.
I need to tackle the cupboard under the stairs, it seems to have been used as a dumping ground, will give that a good clean out and sort out what to keep or not.
Was going to do it earlier but eldest DC came in and sat on my bed while I was having a coffee, we ended up sat there for an hour just chatting about different things. That never happens as he always just shuts himself away in his bedroom.
So that was a lovely unexpected start to the day.
Other DC is doing arts and crafts.
Unsure where the cats are, they are most likely sleeping somewhere cosy.
Need to iron school uniforms.
I will then wash my hair then have a nice bath.
Sort out work and school stuff ready for the week.

Thislittlekitten · 17/11/2024 12:26

Afternoon

Had a busy morning with DS at his club then made a massive cooked breakfast for us all.

Manged some ironing though loads still to do. One of the cats has fell asleep on the pile so took that as cue to stop.

Meeting family soon to take the dog for a walk then home to get ready for the week ahead. I was off work last week due to surgery so looking forward to being back but also feel weird. Easy night. Possibly pasta for tea.

Judellie · 17/11/2024 12:31

I have delivered DS to church, then briefly visited Asda, had a quick coffee and then taken DD to her job.
Back home now. I don't really want to do anything this afternoon as my hand, knee and arm are aching (well, knee's a bit better) but I have to make some lunch. Apart from the marzipan bar I just ate.
I have emptied the dishwasher but need to sort some washing (boo)
I also should be wrapping the Xmas presents I have and setting up a Waitrose account - but these may not get done.
DD finishes at 4 so I'm meeting her and we're going ot Chiquito's then to see Paddington in Peru - DS may be joining us for the film.

Arlanymor · 17/11/2024 12:36

Prynhawn da... I have been the laziest of all lazy things this morning. Meant to get up early and tackle the housework, but I've been away with work for most of the week and to be frank I just CBA. I'm still currently in bed, but I have done some admin on the laptop today for a volunteer role I do outside of work.

I'm going to get up in a bit, have a nice shower and take myself out for a spot of lunch in a bit (nothing in the fridge due to work trip) and then to the pub for the rugby. Which will be painful and pointless, but you're either a supporter or you're not. Later I will continue to ignore the housework and take myself to bed early with a big cup of London Fog and The Satsuma Complex by Bob Mortimer.

UsernameNameUser · 17/11/2024 12:54

Afternoon all! Had a very slow morning, lovely lunch, now settling in to watch the Insidious franchise for the day. Not sure what to have for dinner, but overall, I’ve got a very cozy day planned!

GiddyRobin · 17/11/2024 12:56

Afternoon, everyone! We've been up since early. Made breakfast and brought it out to eat on a walk and horseride, and the weather was lovely. Crisp and a bit misty. DS had a go on my big horse without any encouragement (and lots of help), and it was just the sweetest thing.

Came back and we were ravenous, so DH went out to carry on work on my greenhouse extension...the claw footed tub we were given does fit in there! I'm so excited. 😆 He worked so hard yesterday and it's really looking good. We got a delivery of ferns yesterday and I can't wait to put them all in. Anyway, I made a quick tomato soup for lunch and we had that with some of the cheese leftover from the cheese shop.

DS is reading now and I'm doing some painting with DD. She's really into winter at the moment so she's making yet another little collage - I love watching her, reminds me of my own childhood.

DH is playing violin at a concert tonight, so we'll probably all clean up at around 4 and head out as it's a wee bit of a drive. Packing some sarnies to tide the kids over, and we might go for a meal afterwards. Can't currently decide between Vietnamese or French.

lucysmam · 17/11/2024 08:57

Good luck @HurdyGurdy19 ! Dd1 vaguely mentioned them last night but isn't up so I guess she wasn't that bothered 🤷‍♀️

Thank you. I was trying on behalf of my son, but didn't get any. Same happened last year, but he was successful in the resale, so fingers crossed for the same this time.

DilemmaDelilah · 17/11/2024 15:34

@ssd and @TribulationPeriwinkle - it is a VERY good fish pie!
