How is everybody's day treating them? Are you doing anything interesting or much?
I am waiting in hospital at the moment and so bored!

I’m also waiting in hospital - maybe you’re the lady next to me ;) ? About to have a procedure under GA.
hope all is well op

CollisionCourse · 15/11/2024 12:35

I'm trying to muster the motivation to make a list and go food shopping, it's not going well 🤦‍♀️ Not my usual Friday task, but somehow a vague "pop in to mine on Saturday to see the birthday girl" has turned into doing lunch for a dozen people of varying levels of fussiness and requirements. Efforttt.

Sorry to hear you are hanging around in hospital. Time can stand still in those places!

MinnieMountain · 15/11/2024 12:39

I took voluntary redundancy yesterday. Another of my team did today. So processing the emotions of that.

I need to go to Lidl before DS gets home from school.

Beethovensafari · 15/11/2024 12:41

Our new car just arrived and it's fab! It's a company car, hybrid and most excitingly I can listen to audiobooks while I drive!

Justonedayatatime11 · 15/11/2024 12:41

Lazing on the sofa feeling sorry for myself after a difficult week... not sure how to make it better, but wallowing here definitely isn't helping!

hby9628 · 15/11/2024 12:42

I've been busy cleaning & decluttering. Feeling very virtuous! Still a lot to do but having a lunch break.

Randomuser456 · 15/11/2024 12:43

Very slow at work

shellyleppard · 15/11/2024 12:43

Just taken my antibiotics for a chest infection, curled up under a blanket with my youngest son who's also suffering. Op I hope your hospital stay is quick x

leia24 · 15/11/2024 12:46

I've cleaned my house and it smells really nice.. and the Police have just been round to take statement number 9 million while waiting for my ex partner's trial 🙃 but the positive is that the oic is amazing and I really like her.

AllTheAll · 15/11/2024 12:50

Did the food shop yesterday, and would you believe it, there's nothing to eat! 😂. I might have some leftovers of a potato dish from last night. I just threw together scraps from before the food shop: regular and sweet potato sliced, onion, garlic and ham. Add some broth and cream, top with cheddar cheese.

I need to search online for "new" cars. Ours is very old and making terrible noises. There are too many choices.

BackinBlack24 · 15/11/2024 12:51

I'm starving and there's a baby asleep on top of me . Sitting here dreaming of nice food .

OliviaRodrighost · 15/11/2024 12:53

I’m a self-employed hairdresser and I was in the salon this morning but I’ve got the afternoon off. Which I’m spending doing laundry and changing the bedclothes. Glamour!

I’m driving DH to the airport later as he’s off down south to visit his dad, brother and nephew for a boys’ weekend. Need to figure out how I’m going to spend this rare weekend alone. Suggestions welcome! Definitely getting a takeaway of my choice for tea tonight. I’m thinking Vietnamese 😋

MozartsMothballs · 15/11/2024 12:54

Mum died two weeks ago. Build up of cholesterol.

Trying to make something positive out it, I've just signed up for Allen Carr's smoking cessation seminar. After 37 years of smoking, I actually want to give up.

Usnone · 15/11/2024 12:55

I've got a cold and I'm in bed with Ruth Rendell. Husband's just gone out to get blackcurrant squash under strict instructions to get the "full of sugar" one, none of the sweetners ones. Best wishes to the hospital peeps.

CalicoPusscat · 15/11/2024 12:57

Hope it goes well @Tarnishedbutton!

Went shopping earlier, bought some lovely smoked local fish for fish and vegetable casserole later with creme fraiche and chives.

Got a piece of work done and deliberating going out for a cream cake. Going to watch a film, do some study and see a friend later.

CollisionCourse · 15/11/2024 12:59

I'm so sorry @MozartsMothballs , how awful for you. I really admire your determination to give up smoking yourself too, bloody good for you. I've never smoked just by chance I guess but no judgement here. I've known several people give up who thought they never could, but they did and you will. Hopefully you can find some good support. x

Redpandapaw · 15/11/2024 12:59

Feeling quite somber. Redundancies at work and the job market is terrible! The business forecast at work has been changed and there’ll be more redundancies to come ☹️ so just trying to process it all.

the future seems a bit blergh! Also worried that Christmas will pass me by due to stress which would suck for DC so trying to work out how to be present and here.

Best of luck with your op @Tarnishedbutton

JMAngel1 · 15/11/2024 13:05

Very well!
It’s DD1s birthday so we had a lovely morning before school of present opening.
I have a precious day off so have baked her birthday cake and had a lovely sort through all my wardrobe/ beauty stuff whilst watching a schmaltzy film and applying face mask/hair mask/painting nails.
Now about to head off to John Lewis to window shop/ get Xmas feels. Excited as there is a Trinny stand that I’m looking forward to see - but I am only looking!!
Then will pick up DDs and take them out for dinner and for DD1 to spend some of her birthday money.
Home to cake and fuss and Children in Need.

JMAngel1 · 15/11/2024 13:08

Sorry just read some of the other replies and realise I must sound tone deaf.
Sorry some of you are struggling with grief/ redundancy risk - this time will pass.

MessyNeate · 15/11/2024 13:08

Didn't realise it was children in need day!

My brand new car was delivered this morning. It's beautiful! I keep looking out at it on the drive!

I'm still feeling crap with a heavy cold/flu bug so I took it for a quick drive to show my mum at work (cafe) took the dog with me. He gets so excited when he sees my mum Grin

Came out of there with a sausage toastie and back to the sofa. I'm picking DS (17) up from work at 5pm and DS (13) up from his girlfriends on the way back then it will be fish and chips for dinner later because I feel too poorly to cook!

MessyNeate · 15/11/2024 13:09

Hope hospital goes well for the two waiting!

@MessyNeate , what kind of car? I'll take inspo from you. I have narrowed my desire down to "silver" which is not much help in car shopping.
