Robert f Kennedy going to be head of health under Donald Trump, an alleged sex abuser attorney general is Trump trolling people?

I literally don’t know whether to laugh or be like oh my God in shock!, I literally can’t stop laughing. This is a guy who said a few years ago that fluoride makes people gay apparently one of the first things he’s gonna do is remove fluoride from water which the dental association says isn’t wise.
He is also a conspiracy nut very much anti-vaccine and really not the person you put in front of public health which can affect everybody as we have just seen in the last pandemic.
I honestly don’t know if Donald Trump is agreeing with him or just trolling people at this stage because on top of that…
The former Republican House speaker Kevin McCarthy is predicting that Donald Trump’s nomination of Matt Gaetz as attorney general so you know head of legal justice etc will be rejected by the Republican Senate next year. This is because what I am hearing is he is under investigation himself for allegedly child abuse, accessing porn in congress and attacking a woman.
so I ask again is trump trolling us?

yikes. I never thought of bird flu in cows' milk 🫣

The US has a fairly significant issue with bird flu spreading through cattle at the moment. Not an issue with pasteurised milk because and virus present in the milk is inactivated by the pasteurisation process. It will be present in raw milk.

And yes, obviously some of the raw milk advocates have advocated deliberately doing raw milk from H5N1 positive cows to develop immunity.

RFK hasn’t done that far but there is definitely an issue with the person responsible for health being the type of person who thinks drinking raw milk is a good idea.

I don't think Gaetz will be appointed. A lot of Republicans in both houses dislike him, especially after he was instrumental in getting McCarthey kicked out of the speakership and starting about a month of complete chaos.

He also has three DUI convictions.

It's going to be hard for the party of 'law and order' to justify appointing him after that, let alone the accusations of drug abuse and transporting a 17 year old across state lines for sex which, while not necessarily proved, supressing the ethics report would be very poor optics on his part.

I can't wait to see Trump change America for the better.
Illegal immigrants- goodbye.
Big fat cat pharma - goodbye.
Woke - goodbye
Unnecessary vaccines- goodbye.
Bent politicians- goodbye.
Exorbitant food and gas prices - goodbye.

I think a lot of people will be eating their words when America is made great and prospering once again 👌

You are going to be waiting such a long time. He didn't deliver on his promises last time round, and he won't this time.

I follow the shenanigans of a "wellness" Ponzi scheme called Biolimitless and the fake doctor who is involved with that scam has been able to meet with Kennedy in the last few days (or so his minion reports) to discuss how they might contribute to "revolutionising health care" with crackpot cures and wellness supplements.

Currently their endeavours in the UK are managed by a notorious Onecoin scammer. It's scary that these people can get a foot in the door.

I think I've put this on here, but a couple of hours ago it was reported that the shares in pharmaceutical companies in America have gone down since our growth is really low. I really think starmer missing a trick. If we do not try to encourage these pharmaceutical companies to come over here

If they were interested in moving out of America they would most likely go to the EU, probably Ireland. We’ve already cut our nose off to spite our face when it comes to pharmaceuticals.

I don't have to answer anything to you @HowardTJMoon and couldn't give a monkeys about whether you think anyone who queries things is a "conspiracy theorist" woo. My husband is a biochemist and has questions about those particular vaccines, there have been many (I think around 0.5 million) vaccine yellow card reports (including from me which is why I only took one), that didn't make me or anyone else "gullible" you fool.

Matt Gaetz is a shocker - horrid sleazy man. Qualified lawyer, loves showboating at congressional hearings. He is currently being investigated for sexting/meeting a 17yo and arranging to meet her out of state - meaning it's sex trafficking of a minor. He is a surprise pick, totally unsuitable for AG.

RFK was rumoured to be in the frame a while ago but is a vaccine and fluoride denier, hates big pharma, medical adverts and UPFs.

I've been wondering if Matt Gaetz has been floated by Trump as an "oh my god, anyone but him" candidate, so when he's rejected by the Senate whoever the second choice turns out to be will seem quite reasonable in comparison? It would also solve a problem if Trump had promised Gaetz a nomination in exchange for support (or something), but didn't really want him to get through the process. The AG role is one of the most important, no way he'll ever be approved. Trump would've met his side of the deal in nominating him and the knock-back would not be Trump's problem?

RFK - I think he really wants him for the role for some reason, though only heard Trump praise his attitude to UPFs, healthy eating, over medicalisation, skimmed over the vaccine denial. Lord knows how he thinks either one will be confirmed.

Maybe Trump just wants to stay entertained until inauguration day by watching the increasingly hysterical reactions on MSNBC and The View - it's been quite something!

Even other Republicans admit Gaetz was showing off videos of himself fucking underage girls.
He showed then around right on the floor of the HoR.
Trump picks who he picks on a whim. He has no strategy. Apparently he waited until he was alone with Gaetz so nobody was there to try to talk him out of it.

Illegal immigrants- goodbye.
Big fat cat pharma - goodbye.
Woke - goodbye
Unnecessary vaccines- goodbye.
Bent politicians- goodbye.
Exorbitant food and gas prices - goodbye.

These things are unlikely to happen.

  • Illegal immigrants - Trump needs this issue to pump up and grow his voter base.
  • Big Pharma - they are likely among his donors.
  • Woke - See ‘illegal immigrants’.
  • Unnecessary vaccines - Trump, nor RFK, doesn’t have the skill for this one, plus see ‘Big Pharma’.
  • Bent politicians - Trump is a bent politician? I’m not sure what exactly you’re implying here. Trials? Jail? That sounds - fascist.
  • Exorbitant food and gas prices - with his tariff talks, these will likely increase. Gas prices are dependent on varying oil prices, and there is little the Government can do about this.

Trump’s promises sound great on the surface, but with a little more thought, they pop like soap bubbles.

I know he isn’t right about the vaccines and I’ll tell you why because I caught Covid when I was in hospital with another infection but I previously had had the injections and I know for a bloody fact because I need oxygen even though I had the injections that I think I would be dead if I hadn’t had the injections because I got it not as bad as I would’ve done without I know 100% now so I do agree that actually vaccines do work

Is this genuinely what you think or are you trolling? You needed oxygen even though you were vaccinated and that proves vaccines work?

I'm not actually anti vaccine, but this is a terrible line of reasoning to take.

110APiccadilly · 16/11/2024 06:54

PermanentTemporary · 15/11/2024 13:21

To be fair (briefly) to RFK, the UK vaccine environment is in some ways less impressive than the current US picture, given that vaccines aren't compulsory for school attendance over here. That being the reason why the UK is regarded as a hopeless soup of infection and has such patchy herd immunity despite fully funded vaccine programmes and good primary care coverage. It's just pretty sad to see such stupidity spreading to a major developed nation, particularly just for the media trolling and distraction.

By whom is the UK regarded as a hopeless soup of infection, may I ask?

I'm aware there are concerns about patchy take up of certain vaccines, but as far as I know those concerns are mostly internal (i.e. expressed within the UK by UK citizens).

Generally, mandating vaccines is a bad idea, even pragmatically, as it leads to public mistrust.

I am not trolling it proves that actually it would’ve been much worse without the vaccines because if I needed a bit of oxygen it with the vaccine, then I probably wouldn’t even be here without it because I saw what happened to people who did not get vaccinated before there was even a vaccine available.
My friend said the same thing that I was lucky to have been vaccinated because I probably would’ve been one of the people that would’ve died. I know that for a fact just the way I responded to having Covid even with a vaccine it still is not going to take every side-effect away, but it makes you fight it harder.

I want to tell you what I have just found out about Robert Kennedy, which is even more disgusting that five years ago he went to Samoa. He was visiting a anti-VAX person at the time little children were dying really badly from measles..
There were people trying to organise vaccines for the children so what did Robert do? He wrote to the leader of Samoa and encouraged him not to vaccine their children.
Fortunately he didn’t listen to Robert and actually the children guess what got the vaccines and they stopped dying that is absolutely disgusting and now this person is going to be in charge of helping the public health in America. God help them

This is all madness!
'Conspiracy theorists' and 'non conspiracy theorists' have so much in common.

Like most arguments, the truth lies in between.

But this current conversation just sets both in stone through insults.

If we were all have to have a respectful discussion, I think we'll get to a point that we ALL need to get to.

All of this 'I can shout louder than you' politics is what everyone is getting sick and tired of and is doing so much damage.

I guess it'll take a while before we're ready to listen.

I say this as a close friend of a 'conspiracy nut'.
But we're grown up enough to have really interesting conversations and learn from each other.

All this head banging stuff from both sides is counterproductive

I would agree with you however some people are too far down the rabbit hole. There is no sense you can give them. Yes there are problems with some vaccines as in some people can get some side-effects but that is not meaning that you should not have vaccinations which in the UK there has been measles outbreaks because people haven’t been vaccinating their children properly and measles can cause kids to be blind and even die so there is no Actual argument there

One individual's experience really proves nothing at all. I had COVID, unvaccinated, at 9 months pregnant, completely asymptomatically (only knew due to testing). I don't go round telling people that that means the vaccines don't work, because that's not what it means!

That's not quite correct, the truth is worse. In 2018, there was a new program to vaccinate against measles, mumps and rubella in Samoa (MMR vaccine). Sadly 2 nurses mixed up the vaccine (which was in a powdered form) incorrectly by using an expired muscle relaxant instead of water. Two children died as a result (depressed breathing) so the Samoan govt suspended the vaccination program temporarily.

RFK Jr used this to campaign against the 'safety' of the vaccine and as a result a lot of people didn't vaccinate their children because they believed his misinformation rather than the actual tragic reason for what happened. Then a year later there was a measles epidemic when a traveller brought the disease in, over 57,000 people were infected and 83 children died. Had they been vaccinated, things would have been very, very different.

AlteredStater · 16/11/2024 16:59

Edit to my post above: 5,700 people were infected, not 57,000! Sorry for the typo.
