I literally don’t know whether to laugh or be like oh my God in shock!, I literally can’t stop laughing. This is a guy who said a few years ago that fluoride makes people gay apparently one of the first things he’s gonna do is remove fluoride from water which the dental association says isn’t wise.
He is also a conspiracy nut very much anti-vaccine and really not the person you put in front of public health which can affect everybody as we have just seen in the last pandemic.
I honestly don’t know if Donald Trump is agreeing with him or just trolling people at this stage because on top of that…
The former Republican House speaker Kevin McCarthy is predicting that Donald Trump’s nomination of Matt Gaetz as attorney general so you know head of legal justice etc will be rejected by the Republican Senate next year. This is because what I am hearing is he is under investigation himself for allegedly child abuse, accessing porn in congress and attacking a woman.
so I ask again is trump trolling us?

trump is a dangerous idiot the pharmaceutical industry in USA shares have fallen because of his pick for health.
we should court them to come to uk that will help growth

No don't agree, Big Pharma is not trustworthy, what about the fact they were indemnified from lawsuits over any damage from the Covid vaccines by the govt? And bribes to drs and govts? From all your other posts you sound left wing so surprised you think that's a good idea.

Where do maga get their news source Fox News?., the same news that I watched said Kamala was a witch

Don't know but assume people in US know more about American issues than us and certainly people who get all their news from legacy media.

Goodbye to bent positions with Trump as president. Good one. 😂

I don’t agree with everything big pharma have done in the past putting profit before people is always wrong but we were in a pandemic and we needed to have vaccines. I do believe that vaccines have helped save me because I caught Covid after vaccines were available and actually, I believe it helps save my life.
however, I truly believe that people like Robert J Kennedy is bat shit crazy and ridiculous person to be put in front of public health where people will die

And I have news for you @Littlemissgobby there will be no/negative growth throughout labour's time in office as putting taxes up and having the most expensive energy in the world does not lead to growth but stagnation.

Well, it certainly is an experiment. Let’s see show but I do think though we could be missing a trick here though if they want to move out of America.

To be fair (briefly) to RFK, the UK vaccine environment is in some ways less impressive than the current US picture, given that vaccines aren't compulsory for school attendance over here. That being the reason why the UK is regarded as a hopeless soup of infection and has such patchy herd immunity despite fully funded vaccine programmes and good primary care coverage. It's just pretty sad to see such stupidity spreading to a major developed nation, particularly just for the media trolling and distraction.

Scrimt · 15/11/2024 13:22

RFK is of course a fan of raw milk. Let his fans drink a gallon on the daily I say. Goodbye common sense, hello listeria. Pasteurisation is for pussies!

All companies that make vaccines have to pay into a fund that pays out in the event of injury due to a vaccine. When governments insist children be vaccinated it is only reasonable that those injured by vaccines should be compensated. Every medical treatment has side effects which can be severe in some people but usually we are informed about possible side effects and make the decision to proceed or not. The COVID vaccine is no different in that, only Trump insisted on pushing it through at 'Warp Speed' before everything could be checked.

I’d be less worried about the listeria and more about all the H5N1 in it at this point. It would be a very good way to kick start the next pandemic.

That sounds like big pharma gets all the upsides (massive profits esp if govts have "insisted" ) with none of the downsides (compensation when it goes wrong). Seems to happen alot these days - see the banking crisis when banks got all the profits and taxpayers had to bail them out. If RFK is fighting that it sounds good.

HowardTJMoon · 15/11/2024 13:59

Did you not read the part where the money used for compensation comes from "big pharma"? Do some research, for crying out loud, because by repeating conspiracy theorists talking points you're just making yourself look foolish - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Vaccine_Injury_Compensation_Program

Do such funds exist for people injured/killed by other drugs or is it only vaccines? I believe there's now been a few deaths from weight loss jabs, I wonder if they can access drug companies compensation funds?

I imagine the difference with other drugs is that they are not mandated by government 🤷‍♀️

Oh do piss off , I didn't say anything about conspiracy theories I was just asking a question. You people are obsessed with conspiracies. Do you think my point about the banks was also a conspiracy theory? Maybe I'm suspicious because big corporations have previously been let off from the consequences of their actions huh?

You didn't ask a single question. What you were doing was repeating easily-disproved disinformation about "Big Pharma" and payments for vaccine injuries. This disinformation is spread by conspiracy theorists trying to undermine vaccine rollouts.

That you were so ready to believe the lie and so uninterested in doing any basic research yourself speaks volumes about your mindset and information sources.

ElaborateCushion · 15/11/2024 15:34

My only hope with all of these bonkers appointments is that they're all too inept to actually get anything done...

I was very shocked when there was an assassination attempt on Trump a few months back (didn't that ear grow back marvellously quickly?), but the more this goes on, the more of a shame it is that he turned his head at the right moment.

The Elon Musk thing proves how much of a money hound Trump is. Bangs on about oil being gold, yet has become best buddies with someone that has been leading the charge in the electric car industry. Why? Oh yes... more likely to do with him being the richest man in the world maybe?!

The USA is becoming a massive laughing stock around the world and the thought of them having the power of the US military is really rather frightening.

Nope, I am cynical about big Corporations which is a reasonable position but don't know about the scheme of which you speak or whether the drug companies pay enough to cover potential injuries/deaths, didn't claim to have researched was just saying it could be like the banking crisis where although the banks pay into a scheme to cover the first £85k for each depositor when the liability was alot more than that due to the banks reckless actions the taxpayer was forced to bail them out. Its called moral hazard - ie because we did that they have no incentive to act responsibly in the future. But no need to be rude, and blather on about conspiracies and disinformation. People had particular legitimate concerns about the Covid vaccines as you well know and your insults will certainly not make any difference. Your mindset sounds incurious and rigid.

CaveMum · 15/11/2024 15:49

If these crazy nominees (Gaetz, Gabbard, RFK, etc) have to go through Senate confirmation hearings then there’s no way they get approved. If they get recess appointments, that’s another matter but we can at least take heart that Trump did not get his choice of Senate majority leader - funny old thing, that was an anonymous vote so people actually voted for someone halfway competent (Thune) rather than Trump’s pick (Scott).

I recommend listening to today’s TRIP US (recorded before the RFK announcement) where they run through the appointments process and also talk about why its very likely that the wheels are already falling off the Trump/Musk Love In.

@Menopausalsourpuss oh I'm curious about this kind of thing which is why I spend the time to check claims. Just regurgitating wild-ass claims that you've heard without checking strikes me as much more incurious.

But I get it, you don't want to see yourself as a conspiracy theorist. Nevertheless you're repeating their claims without bothering to check if they're real. Does that make you a conspiracy theorist, or just gullible and/or prone to confirmation bias? That's something only you can answer.

Littlemissgobby · 15/11/2024 16:29

So I follow a man called David Pakman on YouTube. I don’t know if anyone has heard of him. He’s very good. He’s a democrat leaning person anyway he always talks about how the right wing talk about being a civil War. Well he actually has predicted something that is quite scary..
that Steve Miller said that he wants Donald Trump to have his own private army taken from the National Guard from Republican states and then they will push into democrat blue states who have said like California they will not allow them to seize citizens to remove and they’re going to push these unofficial Donald Trump private army a bit like I suppose Hitler’s SS and try to push them and then that means that the blue states will have to have their own law in order against this private army and this could start off some sort of civil war because California has stated they will not allow any citizens to be removed
