😴I can’t get no sleep 💤

It must be a week now since I haven’t been able to sleep for more than a couple of hours a night. Sleep has been a problem for me on and off for a long time.
Anybody else struggling too?

Ooof that's tough OP!

I've been dozing on and off, but I have a really chesty cough that keeps waking me up and keeping me up!

I must admit I’m struggling now.
Sorry to hear about your chesty cough, hope it clears up soon.

With you Op. I’m waking 3am every day for the last week. It’s making me a zombie!

It’s awful isn’t it. I feel your pain.

I’m lucky if I get 2 hours straight at the moment. I sleep to start with from exhaustion and then I’m wide awake for the rest of the night/early hours of the morning.

Another sleepless night so far. Anyone else?

Yes I'm up. No good reason really. Might put a film on :)

How are you doing?

It’s so tough isn’t it. Yes I’m wondering about watching something. Don’t know what to do for the best with my sleeping troubles.

Me too! For the last week or so, I've been wide awake until about 3am.. it's awful!
Then exhausted in the morning struggling to get up. Not sure if it's another peri symptom (night sweats also when I do eventually sleep) or maybe my body clock is completely out..?

CalicoPusscat · 10/11/2024 01:33

Well people always talk about 'sleep hygiene' and routine.

I have only just moved and am sleeping on a mattress on the floor until I get my bed out of storage, don't think I have much chance of routine!! 😆

Do drinks help, like nighttime herbals or hot milk with honey?

It is awful isn’t it. I don’t think I’m peri myself, just a bad bout of insomnia for no good reason. My body clock is completely out too. I’m going to try acupuncture, anything is worth a go at this stage.

I suppose us being on our phones isn’t good sleep hygiene!
I’m finding that when I’m up I need to keep going to the loo. I’m not sure drinks like that would help my bladder!
How has your move gone? I’m currently having my new place renovated before moving in, I think that is adding to my stress levels.

Ah yeah, it's a hugely stressful time. As well as arranging everything just updating all address details, banks, surgeries etc.

I think I'm just going to have to accept I'm broke now until February. Hope it all goes through smoothly 🤞

CalicoPusscat · 10/11/2024 01:47

I'm sure there was a study which said the three biggest stressors are bereavement, relationship breakup...and moving!

LisaJohnsonsFacebookMole · 10/11/2024 01:49

Me also! Alas, I've no advice.

Yes I’ve got all the arrangements ahead when DD & I move in.

I will be broke too once the renovations are done.

Thank you. 😊

If it's really bad I've used Kirkland sleep aid or night nurse

I couldn't sleep after my mum died and the doctor gave me 3 sleeping tablets like they were precious gold
I said "what do you need to get a week, your entire family to die?"
I don't think he got my sense of humour!

I have tried zopiclone, promethazine and melatonin, none of which has worked unfortunately. The Doc says there isn’t anything else 😭

Yesterday I read about trying supplement's which is my next step, magnesium, zinc & vitamin B6. Anything is worth a try at this stage.
