Was making jam tarts with the toddler and turned my back for all of 30 seconds to close the fridge - turned back to see the little bugger giving her 12 week old baby brother (sat in his bouncer) a bloody spoonful of strawberry jam!! 🫠

Do I need to do anything?!

@ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea "Not weaning til 6 months and 'baby led weaning' is quite new"

It depends what you mean by "new". I did both in 1995.

I had assumed a lot more recent than that as it wasn't the advice given to me in early 2000s.

Wean at 14-16 weeks with baby rice was the advice I followed!

I'm not sure but it seems to be this generation of babies that don't get solids till they are 6 months old my children were born mid 70s to early 80s and all of them started on baby rice etc at 3 months and all survived all in their 40s now, no allergies and all eat anything going so one spoon full of jam probably will not do lasting damage x

Weaning at 3 months was the norm 20 years ago. You probably were. It will be fine!

Yes my DS is 20 and he had baby porridge at 12 weeks. HV recommended it to help him sleep through the night 😳

Tbf, he was a chunk but even so 😬
