My Kindle had been dying for a few days. When I’d tried everything to revive it and worked out that it wasn’t going to get better, I waited, ooh, two whole hours before ordering a new one.
It feels as essential to me as a kettle or a toaster.
What’s on your MUST GET A NEW ONE NOW! list?

Decided the other day I really could not do without eye masks any more.
Never used to wear them at all, up to about 4 years ago.

Phone
Washing machine
Tumble dryer
Air fryer
Vibrator
TV
Hairdryer
Kettle

Phone
I have a Kindle app on my phone but would probably replace kindle too.
Air fryer
Hairdryer and One Step
All of my kitchen stuff

Just realised I don't have anything I wouldn't replace immediately.

rosegoldivy · 07/11/2024 18:04

Kindle would be top of my list too! Honestly couldn't go a day without it.

Then my earpods

Both get heavily abused with daily use!

mrsnjw · 07/11/2024 18:11

Water softener

MotherOfVizslas · 07/11/2024 18:17

My heat pad and my coffee machine

Sivercat · 07/11/2024 18:26

Coffee pod machine
TV . Kettle

Patienceinshortsupply · 07/11/2024 18:34

I've just gone 3 weeks without a dishwasher and my sanity was close to the line. I am seriously considering buying another one and having it on standby in the garage, I was that desperate.

Imatorturedpoet · 07/11/2024 18:52

My fire tablet I read library books on
Kettle
Coffee machine
Mobile
Aquarium!

Not necessarily in that order!

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 07/11/2024 18:53

Washing machine list got our new one today thank goodness.

WrongWrongWrongAgain · 07/11/2024 18:57

My Nutribullet. I managed to fix it myself with an old bra strap during lockdown and was SO impressed with myself, and it stayed fixed for another 3 years 😆- when it went BANG I decided it was probably beyond my fixing power and replaced it. If I had to choose only one I would keep that over the Kenwood food processor and a stick blender.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 07/11/2024 18:58

Phone
Dishwasher
Hoover
Washing machine

FussyPud · 07/11/2024 19:02

Water softener

oh my goodness yes!!

Moier · 07/11/2024 19:05

Definitely a kindle like you.
I thought mine had broke last week.. l panicked and went straight onto amazon.. then l googled how to fix it..
2 minutes later it was working again.
Just held the on/ off button for 30 seconds.. it restarted and worked!.
After kindle would be..
Dishwasher.
Airfryer.
Electric blanket.
Telly.
Then other white goods.

BellissimoGecko · 07/11/2024 19:13

My immediate thought was 'my Kindle' too! 😂

MuffinDadoCappuccino · 07/11/2024 19:19

My heated throw. I use it so much I’ve managed to kill three in the last couple of years. Luckily number four seems a little more robust.

MoanyPony · 07/11/2024 19:19

Washing Machine (Cannot survive without)
Dishwasher (reordered both this year)
Husband (though he's a '68 model so good for a few years yet)
Tablet
Ear buds
Car

longtompot · 07/11/2024 19:52

Washing machine

Hob

Telly

twilightcafe · 07/11/2024 20:00

Kindle. And if you buy it straight from Amazon it's already loaded with all your stuff. 🧙‍♀️🪄

Dishwasher - Lasted two days doing the washing-up by hand before we cracked.

Noise- cancelling hi-res sound earbuds. My last pair died - I detoured to John Lewis Oxford Street for another pair.

Teeny Braun travel alarm clock. I must have left it in a hotel room. Bought replacement that day.

Nitgel · 07/11/2024 20:02

My simple human light up mirror is playing up so I bought a new one today. I need it with my dodgy eyes.

Teenagerantruns · 07/11/2024 20:06

My kindle, replaced the last one a few months ago when it died, my phone and the kettle that's about it.

Sethera · 07/11/2024 20:07

Laptop
Mobile
Fridge freezer
Vacuum
Washing machine
TV (we only have one)

Not kettle as we have a spare that we bought without much choice during a 2020 lockdown and then replaced with a better one once all the shops were open again. It works fine but it's slow to boil and very noisy.

HouseFullOfChaos · 07/11/2024 20:14

Kindle for me too. My second ever kindle is about 8 years old now and still seems to be going strong. It's a voyage and I don't think they sell one with buttons anymore so I'm dreading it breaking, I don't like touching the screen to turn the page.

Topseyt123 · 07/11/2024 20:57

Kindle, mobile phone, washing machine, dishwasher. I'm sure there are a few more things too, but those are the main ones off the top of my head.
