My Kindle had been dying for a few days. When I’d tried everything to revive it and worked out that it wasn’t going to get better, I waited, ooh, two whole hours before ordering a new one.
It feels as essential to me as a kettle or a toaster.
What’s on your MUST GET A NEW ONE NOW! list?

My Bluetooth Roberts radio.

Boutonnière · 07/11/2024 17:09

White goods ( major kitchen appliances)

My iPad mini and my waterpik - bought both last week and have echoing empty sound from my bank account now . The iPad was living on borrowed time so was braced and budgeted for but the Waterpik was an accident. Would deeply inconvenience me to do without either.

We bought a new dehumidifier the same day the old one died.

I'm with you. This is my pick 👍

Bedside lamp, can't be dealing with big lights or getting out of bed in the cold to switch them off

Frlrlrubert · 07/11/2024 17:14

I was thinking 'Kindle' before I even read the OP! Mine has been being clunky on and off so I've already planned the next one!

mitogoshigg · 07/11/2024 17:16

Phone as it's my only phone, tv high up too, fridge freezer, washing machine as absolutely essential. Oh and car of course, need to get to work, no public transport! Can't think of anything else I wouldn't wait until payday

wonderings2 · 07/11/2024 17:16

I agree completely on the kindle - I use mine every day.

For the house it would be the ring door bell, Im pretty sure its caught and deterred a would be bugler at least once and I can ignore people I dont want to answer the door to. 😬

@TribulationPeriwinkle

I'd only had my old kindle just over a year too - I get through about 3 books a week so perhaps they just aren't intended for constant use.

2019 kindle owner here, just died this week
Heavy daily use, 50-60 books a year

Toddlerteaplease · 07/11/2024 17:17

Coffee machine,
Heated throw,
iPad,
Egg chair
