Please post calm thoughts and little wins to keep me from obsessing over the news from the USA. What simple positive things are happening in your life today?

We finally sold our house, which at times we thought would never happen. And now we're living temporarily in a really lovely rental, that we were really lucky to get. It feels so peaceful and positive.
We just need to successfully buy the house we want now. I feel like a life I never dreamed I could have is happening for me.
Chin up OP. You can have lovely things happen even though the world is disturbing right now.

Thanks. I'm on a long train journey today across Europe. Hoping to have a window seat and watch the world go by.

I’m going to have a lovely cup of loose leaf tea this morning and sit in the garden and listen to the birds.

Hope you get that window seat OP!

That sounds lovely. I love a good train journey- what countries are you going through?

Congratulations on the house sale.

Good thread. I'm in bed, contemplating toast and more tea. I knew that git would win.

Damnloginpopup · 06/11/2024 07:48

I'm making a curry.

But then I couldn't give a fuck either way.

RabbitsRock · 06/11/2024 07:49

Good thread OP. I slept through the night which has been rare lately & especially since I came off my anti depressants. DH had made me a cuppa when I came downstairs.

I've got the window seat. And even an upgrade to first class for 10euro. Couldn't get that in the UK.

@parietal can you please post some photos??? Would love to see the view from your seat.... currently foggy as here Lol . Enjoy your journey 😊

healthybychristmas · 06/11/2024 07:53

Enjoy your train travel! Which country are you in at the moment?

ZippyDoodle · 06/11/2024 07:54

What a lovely idea for a thread!

No rain due today so I'm going to get out in the garden for an hour or so. Will also go for a nice walk later.

DH and I have agreed to boycott the news from now on. Ignorance is bliss....

Sassysoonwins · 06/11/2024 07:54

I am on my second cup of ginger lemon having got eldest off to school. Will get myself ready then take youngest. Have decided due to the US election that I need to fade news into the background. Very little I can do to change the US, Ukraine, middle east etc. So instead I'm compiling a list of books to read.

I’m envious! I love traveling by train (the slow one) watching in the window.
DH has free afternoon so I hope to catch up on various admin issues with him.
Can you guess when one country is ending and another starting from the picture behind the window? Or does it look the samey?

2024riot · 06/11/2024 08:00

What counties are you travelling through ? It sounds wonderful

parietal · 06/11/2024 08:09

Pretty foggy here. I'm between Frankfurt and Brussels, next big city is cologne.

Calmly through the day

I saw this story on the BBC yesterday about a couple who helped a juvenile otter. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx2yxmp8l0xo

Love the otter story.

My extra yarn has arrived so will be able to finish the blanket I have been crocheting. Small wins.

A good hair day outs me in a good mood no matter what

Love the view from your train window.

I'm WFH today, and everyone else is finally back in school or the office, so I have some much-needed solitude.

I am looking forward to a brief lunchtime walk, and cuddles with my cats. I have a new craft project to plan (I am in a homemade Christmas gift craft swap), and the newest Stardew Valley update has finally made it to the Switch, so I have some cozy gaming planned for this evening as well.

2024riot · 06/11/2024 09:04

What a great journey! What do you plan to eat when you get to your destination?

My dogs paw has healed and she has had her first walk off the lead

wizzler · 06/11/2024 09:06

I had an op 3 weeks ago and it's been tough. Finally feeling like I've turned a corner today.
