Hands Across The Water - Trump thread #135

There's only one floating pile of garbage in this story and it lives in Mar a Lago.

To Kamala Harris and all the other Democratic candidates on the ballot - May your courage, determination and hard work bring you the success you deserve. ❤️
To Donald (Jessica) Trump - May you get everything you deserve... and then some.

Will Trump claim victory now he's got 2 states?

Is that not the problem with the early "calls", which contributed to why he claimed it was stolen? Confused

ie in 2020, he was initially predicted to win it (based on the in-person votes?) and once the other votes got added in (early and mail-in), it "suddenly" and suspiciouslyaccording to him flipped to Biden.

Battleground states poll just posted on Twitter. Has Harris winning Pennsylv but mixed in the others - is that enough?

Just looked at some of the 'pathways to 270' earlier and it looks very very close if this poll is accurate. Trump would be at 268 with Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina but Pennsylvania, which would take him past 270, goes to Harris. She would reach exactly 270 with that, Michigan and Wisconsin plus one vote from Nebraska but this poll doesn't give her Wis. North Carolina would decide it but Trump gets that by .2% in this poll.

TL DR: 😬

Wallaw · 06/11/2024 00:25

Yes, I implore people not to jump on the early calls bandwagon. It's too stressful!

You're right, of course. Hard though!

Wallaw · 06/11/2024 00:30

Very stressful night in the Wallaw household. Our very large gun breed dog, who clearly would be a failure in the field, does. not. care. for. fireworks.

He's wearing a thunder shirt, doped up on doggie prozac plus a second anti-anxiety med, and all 35 kilos of him is glued, shaking like a leaf, to our laps. He also has a very loud bark. The other dog, I must say, is very unsympathetic and is blithely sound asleep, sprawled on her back. She would definitely be marching out there to vote for Harris!

Add in the election and I'm thinking about sucking down a few of those doggie Prozacs 😂

What percentage of votes are counted?

Do we think it’s going to be disheartening?

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/dont-be-fooled-by-early-us-vote-counts-they-might-be-misleading-2024-11-05/

I went to 270towin and just backed right out at the first predicted states. I think we're going to see things swing from red to blue (and vice versa) until all the polls are closed. So I'm going to keep from checking and rechecking in these early hours, my heart can't take it. I'll start really paying attention around 8pm pst/11pm est/4am gmt.

Pumpkinspawn · 06/11/2024 00:37

Bloody hell. Looking good for Trump there. 16pts too.

Some polling stations are actually still open in Georgia due to bomb threats.

plus as RR says the red small, low population rural counties declare early, the larger heavily populated urban counties take much, much longer to count and declare. RED MIRAGE!

NB this doesn't mean that Trump won't eventually win in Georgia, anymore than it means Harris will eventually lose.

I really should be going to bed but things are getting exciting!

Spandauer · 06/11/2024 00:46

As predicted, Manchin's (Dem in name only) senate seat has gone to republican in WV.

Boo hiss.

It's Trump thread #136.

Harris 3

BruceAndNosh · 06/11/2024 01:18

Percentage of votes counted... Is that in person as they know how many in total voted.
What about mail in? That's an unknown total surely

TokyoSushi · 06/11/2024 01:18

Right, I managed a couple of hours in bed but I can't sleep so I'm back - where we at?

lifeturnsonadime · 06/11/2024 01:22

What I hadn't appreciated is that abortion is running as a separate issue in some states. Some are voting for strengthening Abortion laws but Trump for president.

That changes things in my opinion. If people are most likely to vote on economic basis.

Time will tell but I now think Trump, sadly.

BruceAndNosh · 06/11/2024 01:22

I'm this close to crying and I'm not even American

The Guardian interviewed someone who voted Trump for prez but Democrat right down the rest of the ticket. Why?

TokyoSushi · 06/11/2024 01:25

FML, just doing the quickest of catch ups here and across Twitter and a variety of TV channels, is it swinging towards him, really? Particularly in Georgia but a general momentum his way? Tell me I'm wrong!!
