So, Other People's Kids will do something like...
Be free reader around 8 or 9. But all of MN kids are fluent readers at 5.

OPKs can swim 10m around 7/8 .. MNs? Well they did that at 4 and are now swimming 2k at 7/8

Oh your kid managed to add 8+2 in their head at 6? Well the MN child could do this at 3.

I think a lot of people are lying.

Either that or they're nonverbal SEN. I'm sure that there aren't that many in the whole of the UK as there seems to be on Mumsnet.

I'm not mocking anyone who has a child in that state but I don't think all posters who claim this are.

I do hope that wasn't a dig at my earlier post about my non verbal child ?

I think it is partly exaggeration and partly confirmation bias. If you start a thread asking for GCSE results the posters whose kids were too busy smoking weed behind the sports hall to attend their exams are a lot less likely to respond than the ones whose kids got top marks across the board.

I wonder if there was a 'queen bee' MN mum who it would be, they would have to work part time in a 'big' job , but earn over £100k, husband also has a 'bigger' job (I have no idea what constitutes either big or bigger job) two little darlings, who are privately educated (of course) play sport of some kind at county level (minimum) and passed their grade 8 by the time they are 9, got 120 in their sats (or entry to public school) heading for 9's at GCSE or A level equivalent and looking to do medicine or politics at Cambridge and have millions of friends...there is a contrary thread to this one that asks if mums have come across competitive jealousy from other mums., I wonder if that thread was started in response to this one😂
