Please could someone recommend some hardwearing non stick pans?

I was looking at the Ninja Zero Stick range, but the lady I was speaking to in Lakelanf said that you're just paying for the name with Ninja.

We seem to get through saucepans very quickly, and have done spectacularly well this time, and totally trashed a set of pans in under 5 years. Non stick is all chipped, and the rims of the pans are really pitted - it's as if the lids are made of a harder metal than the pans. They were Green Pan.

Previously we'd had a set of Ciculon non stick pans for about 8 years.

Prior to that, a set of Prestige pans for 15 years - not non stick, but eventually all the handles fell off. We did put them in the dishwasher, but haven't with the more recent pans.

We do cook from scratch most nights; often a veggie meal and a meaty meal, so we are pretty hard on our pans.

We have pro.cook pans. Not non stick but stainless steel

Itsagrandoldteam · 17/10/2024 21:12

Scoville, I think they are brilliant, I've had them for years now and nothing ever sticks to them. They are really cheap as well.

SausageRoll2020 · 17/10/2024 21:12

We have tefal pans, I can't remember the exact name of the range but they are the ones where the handles are detachable so way easier to keep tidy in the cupboard.
Have have them a few years now and happy with the quality, they also go in the oven which is great.

I treated myself to an Always pan last year and so far it's been brilliant. It looks very lovely sitting on the hob too. I'm going to buy the mini one this year in the black Friday sale - reductions are very good.

My good saucepans are stainless steel and sit quietly in a cupboard, whilst my bad saucepans are aluminium and stay out late at night, come home clattering about, laughing and giggling and often lose their lids - and they just don't seem to care. 😡

Ingenio. We have those too. They’re great.

Same here. Really happy with my pro cook stainless set and ceramic frying pan.

I don't feel quite ready for ali pans. I have two teenagers. That's enough to keep me on my toes for now. I may branch out into lightweight irresponsible cookware to keep me entertained in retirement.

We have le creuset stainless steel pans and they’re still going strong 15 years later. Have a couple of IKEA frying pans for the teens to butcher.

Shinyandnew1 · 17/10/2024 21:53

We have stainless steel pans-they were wedding presents decades ago and are still going strong. They seem pretty indestructible and still look great. Any non-stick ones I’ve had have lost their non stick coating over time and got chucked away!

PermanentlyTired03 · 17/10/2024 21:57

We have John Lewis stainless steel pans that aren’t non-stick. Really good and dishwasher safe. Used most evenings.
For non-stick I have tefal but they seem to only last a few years before the non-stick starts peeling or wearing off. I bought myself a ninja frying pan and really like it. I haven’t had it long so unsure how long it will last but 6m in it’s still like new.

Mercury2702 · 17/10/2024 21:58

Definitely scoville! Had them for years from Asda and they’re often on offer and haven’t found anything since remotely close. They’re not too light either and clean really well

redbluegreenyellowbrown · 17/10/2024 21:59

Stella stainless steel

They are not nonstick but stuff doesnt really stick to them.... the dishwasher washes anything and everything off.

Mine are 15 years old, as new and im sure they will outlive me

TwoBlueFish · 17/10/2024 22:03

Another one who has procook, had them years. I have replaced the lid on my most used one as the knob fell off. I also have an Aldi cast iron le creuset dupe that’s lasted better than I thought it would.

ginandheels · 17/10/2024 22:06

Exactly the same as @BeMintBee - Le Creuset stainless steel pans, plus some IKEA for the kids. They were expensive, are used daily, but are still as good as new more than 15 years later.

DaydreamerBetty · 17/10/2024 22:07

Sainsburys do stainless steel saucepans with glass/silicone lids which I’m really pleased with. Suitable for all hob types and are dishwasher safe. They were reasonable priced too.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 17/10/2024 22:07

We have procook non- stick. They’re only about 18/12 old but seem to be wearing very well

Ineffable23 · 17/10/2024 22:09

I'm another one on the Scoville pans. I have been using them only for about 2 years so far but they're the most non-stick non-stick I have ever had, dishwasher safe and inexpensive.

BubblinTrouble · 17/10/2024 22:10

We have hexclad - they’re amazing

StripyDog · 17/10/2024 22:15

I’d go for stainless steel every time. We were given a set as a housewarming present 25 years ago and, despite daily use, still look great. And I think they were a cheap set from Argos or similar.

Personally, I’d avoid non stick. The coating really isn’t good for us.

DCINightingale · 17/10/2024 22:18

I have a Greenpan frying pan which is super. I got it because I have birds and the fumes from traditional non stick pans can kill them when theyre on the heat, so this is a really good non toxic pan with a surface that is genuinely non stick.

suki1964 · 17/10/2024 22:20

On my second set of Stella ,stainless steel, had to replace the first 25 year old ones because I got an induction hob and the previous ones wouldn't work.

In between I got some Ikea ones, and I still use them daily. I have a huge stainless steel sauce pan from Ikea and nothing sticks to it

The only non stick I buy is a tefel frying pan. Brand new and its just for eggs, then as it gets battered, I get a new one for eggs and down grade that to frying anything else

MavisPennies · 17/10/2024 22:26

I had ninja ones and the non stick stuff bubbled and pealed after a couple of years. I've given up on non stick. My best frying pans are cast iron. Indestructible and I've used them so much they are basically non stick now.
