Recommend me a coastal town in the Uk

...where me and my two besties can sit on a balcony, wrapped up in blankets, sipping wine and over looking the sea.

During the day, we'd love to mooch around a town with lovely little shops, buy some nice things, have a few nice walks, nice food out, stroll on the beach.

Any recommendations around the Uk?!

Swansea. Some parts of the marina look out into Swansea Bay. Short walk and you're in the city centre. Visit the market whilst you are there.

Then go to Mumbles for a Joe's ice cream and on the way back mooch around Clyne Gardens, call into the Egyptian Centre (free), then Singleton Park, Victoria Gardens and another Joe's on St Helen's Road.

Boulmer

Boulmer has no shops and is about 6 cottages big.

There is absolutely nowhere in the north-east like that- nowhere at all. It is awful, grim, not a place for tourists.

I'd recommend the west coast so you can watch the sunsets in the evening, Perranporth is lovely plus has the Watering Hole pub on the beach, lots of lovely villages and towns in Cornwall to look around too.

I personally prefer the west coast beaches in general, a lot have cliffs, rock pools and often rough seas to watch, I find the east coast beaches a bit flat and bleak.

Penzance. Arrive on the train. Dinner at 45 Queen Street or Argoe, walk to Mousehole, glass of something or coffee at Lovetts in Newlyn, stay at the Artists Residence or Chapel House (no balconies), mooch in the shops and art galleries.

But really it all depends on your location and how far you want to travel. Others have suggested north which is a good shout. I’m south hence the suggestions.
