Is this the most stunning man who ever lived?

I’ve just discovered an actor from the 1940s and 50s called Randolph Scott. He was super famous then - understandably - but seems to be much less well known now. Well suffice it to say my ‘Bobby socks’ are well and truly blown off! What do we all think?

I think you might have had a chance with Freddie. He occasionally swung both ways - and Mary Austin was the love of his life…

😂😂 I will concede, that is in unusually good pic of him! 😂😂

I will take that backhanded compliment as a win! 😁

Tessiebear2023 · 12/10/2024 22:53

Bob mitchum, Donald sutherland and gary oldman. Not all at once.

Octaviusoctober · 12/10/2024 23:12

Not quite my type but then I'm a heterosexual male, sorry to be so boringly conventional.

Not my type, but definitely a solid actor. I've seen him in several films. I think he was a sort of B-level star.

Its not his face. its his forearms. The most sexy part of most men's body in many ways but men seem completely oblivious to it.
Just the headshots were a bit meh, but the image of him with his sleeves rolled up made me see it.

I thought I was the only one with a thing about forearms. I am with you there.

Forearms, hands and shoulders are the sexiest bit of a man.

I’ve been thinking about this and, sorry to get a bit wanky, I have realised that “acts of service” is my “love language”. I wonder if these things are related to my attraction to arms etc.

Skybluepinky · 13/10/2024 09:52

Def not, my great nan might have thought so.

Jonnybythesea · 13/10/2024 10:17

Look mostly like the blokes serving in my local B&Q

Jadetheobscure1989 · 13/10/2024 10:21

He's no Gregory Peck, but he'll do ☺️

StarryGazeyEyes · 13/10/2024 11:35

I can definitely get the Randolph Scott love, but for me the wow who is THIS moment was watching black and white films on a rainy Sunday, which introduced me to Louis Jourdan, especially in a period drama wearing a cape.

"Is this the most stunning man who ever lived?".

Er.....no.

Randolph Scott? Really? Stunning? 🤣
Sorry. Vaguely good looking, if you like that sort of thing, but definitely not "stunning"!

Louis Jordan as Count Dracula was my secret crush at one time! Lol!

He was a great Dracula! When I first read Interview with a Vampire I always saw Louis as Louis Jordan.

Yesterday I happily discovered Cary Grant and Randolph Scott in My Favourite Wife, and Paul Newman in Cat on a hot tin roof and The long hot summer - all conveniently on BBC i player. Lovely Sunday swoons 🥰

Cat on a hot tin roof with Paul Newman is a great film "the mendacity!", and you can also see why Elizabeth Taylor was so popular too, she beautiful but she's also a great actress "maggie the cat is alive!". Very interesting film, difficult subject matter for the time (they’re never really clear about Brick's homosexuality), but deals with it in a surprisingly progressive way.

I love Robert Mithcum personally, Holiday Affair is a good one if you get the chance to see it.

Tessiebear2023 · 16/10/2024 18:53

Gregory Peck wasn't just an excellent actor and incredibly handsome, he was also a really decent guy. Much like Jimmy Stewart, he was a genuinely good person, no one had a bad word to say about him. He was also a lifelong pacifist who was in favour of gun control.

Feel free to crush on Gregory Peck without guilt or embarrassment.

A shame he never ran for President, he would have been brilliant. We got Ronald Reagan instead.

Yes what a wonderful thing that would have been.

I did quite like him in White Palace. Good film too.
