Is this the most stunning man who ever lived?

I’ve just discovered an actor from the 1940s and 50s called Randolph Scott. He was super famous then - understandably - but seems to be much less well known now. Well suffice it to say my ‘Bobby socks’ are well and truly blown off! What do we all think?

Bwahahaha. Who wants to wash shirts more often because the cuffs are so grubby? Also, I don't know how to turn a cuff when it gets frayed.

These manly men are just avoiding that.

Next question...lumberjack shirts, yes or no? 😁

They might wash their own shirts......
and thinking practically about cuffs is extremely unsexy; like a man folding his pants and trousers before sex.
Lumberjack shirts? No.

God yes, a young Marlon Brando has to qualify as one of the most handsome men to ever walk the earth.

Tom Hardy in the right role can look unbelievable, but then he ruins it with the unwashed probable dope smoker look he favours half the time. I’ve been rewatching Taboo recently though and fuck me he’s attractive in that.

Henry Cavill is probably the closest to the old matinee idol actors nowadays, though he looks better all messed up in The Witcher than in a suit - he’s almost so handsome it leaves you slightly cold.

Surely Tom Hardy's look in Taboo is the ultimate in unwashed!

The older I get, the more I appreciate a practical man who doesn't need me to look after him.

@MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic Genuine question - are these men or women?

I thought we were in 2024 but obviously I've accidently timeslipped back to the 70's (although Bowie, Bolan et al were around then so... )

The title of the thread referencing 'stunning men' should answer your question, but I suspect you already knew the answer <shrugs>

I honestly didn’t and thought you were making the point you find feminine more attractive than masculine. Which is fine.

(and the 70s were a lot more gender non-conforming than 2020s)

There are some gloriously handsome blokes in this thread. What a nice way to start a Friday.

If it was a genuine question then I'm sorry. I heard that exact sentence thrown as a insult towards my friends in the 80s, towards people I admired as a teen and beyond too many times for it not to immediately get my back up. I'm being prickly and possibly over-protective.

AmeliaEarache · 11/10/2024 10:59

Fair enough, @MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic

That first photo (maybe taken at Covent Garden?) does look like the model is wearing a wrap around dress, and the draping gives the suggestion of a bust, but looking closer I can see he has an Adam’s apple as is just very pretty.

I loved the pretty, gender non-conforming boys when I was young. It’s not a look that ages terribly well, don’t you find? By mid 30s to 40s, I think. Preferring age-appropriate crushes, I now like the blokes that age beautifully, like Sam Neill.

(Because I’m heading towards being an old bat myself)

Paul McCartney has no bone structure, his face looks like a kids toy, just droopy and soft.
Elvis, I know what you mean, but those eyes. That smile.

I can’t believe you said that about my Paul 😭 you’ve no taste.

Oh......just because I don't agree with you? I do, I assure you.......that's why I rebuffed him.

A few years ago I would have agreed with a lot of these, and also added Seb Stan and my husband (see user name) but my daughter got me into Kdrama and Kmusic back in 2019 and my phone is now filled with the most beautiful pictures - like art.

You and me both. I’m more than old enough to know better but I can’t help swooning at the beautiful male Korean stars, they are another level. My Pinterest board has a specially dedicated page to these gorgeous specimens 😍

TheStroppyFeminist · 11/10/2024 11:22

Yyy to

Rufus Sewell
Paul Newman especially in Butch Cassidy
Robert Redford especially in Butch Cassidy
Elvis
Chris Pine
Karl Urban

Has anyone said James Purefoy yet? Especially as a Fisherman's Friend

TheStroppyFeminist · 11/10/2024 11:24

Oh and YES to Sam Neill, how is he still so attractive at 70-sometihng?

pebbles8811 · 11/10/2024 11:29

He wasn't dressed as a cat when I met him, but still no, vehemently, much as I love cats.

I have to say I find them Michael Jacksonesque and somewhat creepy.

He's aged well, and his looks have matured nicely.

Knittedfairies2 · 11/10/2024 12:06

A younger Mark Harmon, although the older version isn't bad...

NamechangeRugby · 11/10/2024 12:55

Jon-Erik Hexham.
The original Cover Up actor. His death so tragic. Forever young and absolutely gorgeous - I can remember the feeling of shock and sorrow and disbelief when the accident was announced. From the little I have been able to read of him since, he had good values, a lovely person, inside and out.

beguilingeyes · 11/10/2024 13:11

I didn't get the McCartney thing at all until I watched Get Back. The beard is gorgeous and genius is very attractive.
Linda McCartney, who I never thought was particularly attractive is stunning in that film. She glows.

I must admit I had not heard of him but looking him up, he is stunning.

Oh I was just the same... Beyond heartbroken when he died...
