I’ve just discovered an actor from the 1940s and 50s called Randolph Scott. He was super famous then - understandably - but seems to be much less well known now. Well suffice it to say my ‘Bobby socks’ are well and truly blown off! What do we all think?

Ooh no. But men's men give me the creeps. All yours.

I can’t believe you said that about my Paul 😭 you’ve no taste.

At least you'll have less competition?

You're right! Why didn’t I think of that! Haha

He’s all mine!!

Well it's definitely Paul Newman and Robert Redford, no question.

But I'll add a young Richard Gere (I loved him in Yanks) and Harrison Ford in Witness.

And yes, Mark Harmon in St Elsewhere. Mind you back then I really fancied Bruce Willis...

Uricon2 · 11/10/2024 15:52

There's an old Twilight Zone episode about an old lady (played by Gladys Cooper I think) who is incredibly scared of death and does everything she can to avoid it. One day a cop shows up and is the Grim Reaper in a most unlikely form, the young and very beautiful Robert Redford, who shows her that there is nothing to fear and she goes off happily with him (as you would)

When my time comes, I've got my order in Grin

A shout out for the fabulous Gregory Fitoussi who was in one of my favourite crime dramas, Spiral. ❤️

xsquared · 11/10/2024 15:56

My all time crush Gregory Peck has been mentioned several times already.

Young James Spader was also very handsome. I like this photo of him. Forearm also on show.

Gary Oldman does have nice forearms , you'll agree

Bwahahaha. Who wants to wash shirts more often because the cuffs are so grubby? Also, I don't know how to turn a cuff when it gets frayed.

These manly men are just avoiding that.

Next question...lumberjack shirts, yes or no? 😁

Lumberjack shirts - there’s just too much to say. Swoon.

Well, he was supposed to be gay, and in a long term relationship with Cary Grant, so women weren't his bag lol 🤷‍♀️

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure I’m seeing Gregory Pecks name here more than anyone else’s? Are we to conclude this worthy gentleman is in fact the most stunning man who ever lived? As the Op I’m extremely tempted to draw things to the proper conclusion and post this as an Am I being unreasonable question. Yes I think I should. All votes appreciated- in either direction.

He's scoring high indeed Grin but I think Messrs Newman Redford and Neill are also much mentioned (I'm not doing a count!)

Edited

I'm so tragic that I have to remind myself that (the real) Butch Cassidy's sister said she last saw him decades after the shootout.

They so got away. Noone kills the preciouses.

I’m amazed no one has mentioned the very beautiful Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

I don't know him but I'd like to ... wow!

There has been an egregious omission from this thread

Oh God! How could I have forgotten the divine Theo James. Please have him stripped, lightly oiled and delivered to my room. Thanks.

Not a movie star, but the Italian Olympic swimmer Thomas Ceccon is a very, very beautiful man. Face and body!

Ooh no. Tiny little (admittedly quite nice looking if overly triangular) head on a massive neck 😅

Well I nominated Paul 'Gorgeous' Newman on pg1 and there are 25 thanks so I'm taking that as there are at least 25 MNs with exquisite taste 👌 😁

Uricon2 · 11/10/2024 18:18

@Pippetypoppity it does look like the Newmanites are beating the Peck Squad, numerically.
