There are currently quite a few I have lost respect for, who are yours and why??

David Tennant. I've always loved basically anything he's in (apart from Dr Who) and always thought he seemed like a decent bloke. His stance on women's rights put me right off. Twat.

This. He is also conspicuously quiet about his mate Neil G.

Been really good to see the bigots out themselves on here though not liking the truth it seems aww

Right back at ya!

Surely most people are given a certain amount of respect until they lose it? Why would I not respect someone I'd not met or only just met?

For me, people have to give me a reason to respect them - it's not something that comes automatically.

That doesn't mean treating them badly or being unkind, of course, but I wouldn't automatically respect someone I knew nothing about, no.

Yep this. The description 'miserable, hard faced, bitchy, grasping, and fake' is way more suited to Harry and Meghan!

William and Kate are nothing like that. Confused

.

Edited

I had to read the original post twice as I was ‘huh?’. You don’t have to be a fan of the monarchy to see quite plainly that Kate (or Catherine) is a genuinely warm person. And why on earth would she or William be grasping when they’re going to be King and Queen one day? That makes no sense at all. Now Harry and Meghan …..

JohnTheRevelator · 06/10/2024 17:19

All the Harry Potter child stars - Daniel Radcliffe,Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. OK,I'm not saying I had massive respect for them in the first place,I was fairly indifferent to them, never having been a Harry Potter fan,but the way they behaved over JK Rowling's remarks about transgender issues really pissed me off. Ungrateful little brats.

What's beards?

Someone masquerading as a girlfriend to hide a man’s homosexuality. There have been rumours for years that Di Caprio may be a closeted gay man and has created this play boy (grandad) image to hide it.

Areolaborealis · 06/10/2024 17:20

Lifeomars · 06/10/2024 14:31

What an utter horror he has turned out to be

A poster on another thread said that Russel Brand reminded her of Charles Manson and now I can't unsee it.

They’ve got their feet up probably.

Strange they didn’t contribute to their own thread.

OMG yeah! I think someone said this when RB was outed as the creature he is (some months back,) and yeah he does have Charles Manson vibes about him.

Yeah that is very odd.

InfoSecInTheCity · 06/10/2024 17:29

There are a few that I've felt disappointed by, Joss Whedon would be one I am a huge fan of most of his franchises and now watching them is tinged with a kind of shame because I know what a misogynistic, abusive bully he was to the female stars.

TwistedWonder · 06/10/2024 17:29

Lorrymum · 06/10/2024 17:08

Eddie Izzard and his alter ego Susie. I used to love his humour but he just irritates me now.

Agree. My son met him years ago at a football match and he was witty engaging and really brilliant with the kids

I’m actually quite sad that he’s turned out to be such a twat.

Yirk · 06/10/2024 17:30

Defo David Tennant
Prince Harry,
Daniel Radcliffe and his anti JK mob.
Eddie Izzard
Graham Norton,

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 06/10/2024 17:32

Well the engagement farming from op went well, expect a story somewhere saying MN hates..
Brought out all the frothers too.

Crinkle77 · 06/10/2024 17:32

Someone has probably said this but Ant McPartlin. Always capitalised on being a cheeky chappy but hiding a secret addiction. But that can happen and don't judge him for that. But I will judge him for getting behind the wheel when he was off his barnet. Then fighting his wife for custody of the dog.

Wow another mumsnet who doesn't like people standing up for trans people rights this isn't anything to do with women's rights as Emma is a woman but you know comes to something the bigotry on here

Trans rights are men’s rights, women are already being attacked in many ways every day. Why do you expect women in their right minds to support “men’s rights” (as if men don’t already have more rights and privileges than women), and fuck themselves over in the process?

SabreIsMyFave · 06/10/2024 17:37

What did David Tennant do? What have I missed? Confused

Hunnymonster1 · 06/10/2024 17:37

BunnyLake · 06/10/2024 16:39

I’ll tell you who I do have a lot of time and respect for, Chloe Cole.

It’s people like you who are condoning and contributing to the ruination of young lives because of this ridiculous idea that you can be whoever you want to be just because that’s what you want to be in that moment, never mind the fact you may be a child who doesn’t know their own mind yet.

What about adults or tye many examples of happy people that are trans the only unhappy thing us dealing with the trolls on Internet and those that think their opinion counts anout another person's life

CatchHimDerry · 06/10/2024 17:38

All just here waiting for @Hunnymonster1 to clarify how she knows she’s a woman 😂

Runnerinthenight · 06/10/2024 17:38

BunnyLake · 06/10/2024 16:54

I would say checkmate to NewGreenDuck. Just kicking myself I didn’t ask that question, it was a stroke of genius. I am actually genuinely hoping HoneyMonster gives a well thought out response as it’s actually an important question and deserves a good answer.

Well if she does, it will be her first one on this thread!

It was genius @NewGreenDuck!!

And more of us stand up for the rights of women?

(Have you worked out yet how you know you are one btw?)

ChairmanMeowww · 06/10/2024 17:43

I agree with Russell Brand, I used to love him shudders I bought his book, my booky wook, used to love his stand up. Fancied him 🤢
