There are currently quite a few I have lost respect for, who are yours and why??

OP posts:
ByreSleeper · 06/10/2024 17:43

David Tennant
Sandi Toskvig
Emma Watson
All the other idiots and cowards

CatchHimDerry · 06/10/2024 17:46

@Hunnymonster1 what are these “trans rights” then, that you believe in?
Do elaborate…

The right of biological males to enter sporting completions and win with a naturally unfair advantage?
Because when do you EVER see a trans woman enter male only competition?
Name me one example… I’ll wait.

The right to enter female only spaces as a biological male, causing distress and harm knowingly, all because they “feel” they are a woman and can do as they please?
What about how those actual women, who’s space they invade, feel?

Why do their “rights” matter, above any others?

Also still waiting on how you know you are, in fact, a “woman”

Andipxs · 06/10/2024 17:47

Adam Buxton

OptimisticMermaid · 06/10/2024 17:47

Unfortunately it has to be Rick Stein who I have always loved. Pushing his boring, untalented son forward to copy his mannerisms and unashamedly train him up right in front of us in the screen. Jack would be nowhere without his dad.
Actually, can’t stand most of the blatant nepo babes.

As a woman that accepts trans rights stop bloody speaking like you do fir all women in can show uou many women that accept trans rights

Trans people have the same human rights as everyone else in the UK. As they should. What some want - predominately some men want - isn't rights but privileges, and for 'gender' to assume primacy in law over 'sex', which negatively impacts the rights, safety and opportunities of women & girls.
If you're arguing in favour of THAT, your mechanism's gone.

Who has said they don't accept trans rights?

Wanting women to be safe and secure and have their private spaces protected is not transphobia. Some people want to shut women down, and make them put up with situations that make them unhappy and uncomfortable. And when women say they're unhappy with this, some people wave the transphobe flag around. And I'm not having it!

I have no problem with transgender women (male to female) before or after full transition, but I will NEVER allow their rights to trump womens rights. We have fought too hard for centuries now to be treated well and be heard and have equal rights. Like hell are we going to lose those rights we fought for now, because some people like to throw the 'transphobia' accusation around, purely because women want the rights of girls and women protected.

Classic case of losing the argument. Refusing to engage.

And saying 'I have got LOADS of thanks so that means I am right' is hilarious.

Do you know how utterly pathetic this sounds?!

I guarantee that 95% of posters who say this, have got hardly any 'thanks!' 😆

Likewise, feel free to share your private spaces with transwoman but please don't expect other women to meekly do the same.

Were you born a woman or did you choose to identify as one?

Why Because you disagree? It's entertaining because there is a hive mind on here yet get out in the open and you will find people don't care if there are trans people not nice normal folks

IsobelElsie123 · 06/10/2024 17:57

Chris Packham and Bradley Walsh for getting presenting jobs for their kids ahead of all the other kids who were looking for a role in tv.

I am a cis woman but I have no issues with trans women which must be very hard to feel like you are not who you should be all your life.

Whitewolf2 · 06/10/2024 18:00

Definitely Sandi Toksvig. She’s just come out slagging off the concept of Bake Off: 'I'd never watched it. I still haven't watched it. I didn't understand it.
'Cakes are readily available in the shops. I didn't enjoy the process.’
Very rude to all those bakers on the show she clearly didn’t give a toss about! Talk about lack of professionalism.

Alice Roberts, for being a dick on Twitter and bringing humanism into disrepute while sending her kid to a Christian school.

Had to google to make sure it was the same person. She is great.

FrostFlowers2025 · 06/10/2024 16:45

Johnny Depp.

I used to enjoy his movies, but these days I can't stand the sight or the sound of him. Abusive, useless, washed-up, has-been. Torpedoed his own career with booze and drugs then tries to blame in on his ex and sets the men's rights movement lose up her, setting women's progress in battling spousal abuse back by decades.

🤮

Yep. He only "won" because the case wasn't about whether he abused her per say, it was about defamation.

She acted terribly, but he was absolutely abusive - the messages between him and Paul bettany were vomit inducing.

But he has better lawyers and the media was on his side so loads of people think he was vindicated and a poor innocent little victim.

He is foul.

Years and years ago Caitlin Moran nailed her colours to the mast. I remember reading where she said (quite possibly in a piece similar to this thread...) "Germaine Greer is TERRIBLE on trans issues!"

I don't understand her; she's got 2 daughters, doesn't she think about how the trans issue will affect them?! Or maybe she just won't admit publicly that it's a concern. She used to be so strong on women's rights, I can't believe she's not all over it.

I didn’t vote Labour (nor Tory nor Reform) but I was naive enough to think he would take genuine pride in his new role and put the country and its people before himself and his cronies.

Yes - if you were naive then so was I.
Illusions well and truly shattered.........and so soon😞

OptimisticMermaid · 06/10/2024 18:02

Although I love him so much that I might forgive him 😀

Vergus · 06/10/2024 18:03

Russell Brand. A self-absorbed lunatic with no talent. What is he good at? Can someone explain as I’m still trying to figure it out. The week just gone he courted media attention by conducting a baptism in a river with two other nearly naked men. He’s a twat of the highest order.

Dave Cheating Buffoon Grohl. Thinks he’s oh ever so cool - the reality is he’s a middle aged rocker with dubious ability (who also wouldn’t be where he was if it wasn’t for the musical genius of Cobain) and who has cheated on his partners for decades. Again, an irritant for all these things.

Philip I’m-Making-A-Comeback Schofield. Just no. Now out with what little dignity you have left. I cringe for him
