100%

Funny how she's built a career basically identifying as a man.

!You do know what a pseudonym is? Worked pretty well for George Eliot!

Moonshiny · 06/10/2024 23:01

It's very common knowledge that JK was chosen to hide her feminine name to appeal to a wider audience. Not very feminist of our dear Joanne is it.

And then Robert Galbraith? It's almost like she she prefers to identify as gender ambiguous or male because she doesn't think women sell books.

Edited

And why do you think she felt the need to do that??! Dear old misogny!

Why wouldn't she want to be judged on her own merits as an author than on the basis of her sex??

QueenBitch666 · 07/10/2024 00:05

TerfTalking · 06/10/2024 14:24

That idiot Kirsty Allsopp.

Actually, I don't think I ever had any respect for the irritating, privileged cow. It was Phil I actually quite liked.

Phil the animal murdering cretin? He can get ta fuck 😡

AutumnalCosiness · 06/10/2024 22:20

What's Carol done?‽!

She pisses me off - her and Amanda Holden. Never out of the press for wearing revealing clothing. Grow the fuck up ladies!

SabreIsMyFave · 06/10/2024 23:29

She is still a little brat. And an ungrateful one at that. Her attitude towards JK Rowling is disgusting.

You keep banging on about her being a 'grown woman in her thirties.........' 🙄

WTAF has that got to do with anything? You can be a grown woman in your 30s, and still be rude and immature and ungrateful, and yes, a brat!

It's got everything to do with the subject, as she's a grown adult but repeatedly referred to as a child because people don't like her opinions.
It's patronising, and assuming women don't know their own minds.
They're only saying it as they're brainwashed (sheeple) or doing it to please the men (handmaidens)
Heaven forbid we have an opinion of their own.
🙄 Biscuit

I agree, she is misogynistic! Glad we're on the same page.

It's a pity she didn't believe that women authors have power and have the confidence to put her name out there on her work, even after a very successful franchise.

Relying on the illusion of being a male author in this day and age to get money is pretty sad... especially when the 'biggest' female author in the world professionally identifies as a man.

Oh eck is this another memo I've missed?!
Once you're "grown up"you have to ditch revealing clothing?!
Quick, where's me high neck blouse /twin set and pearls?! 😂🙄😁

Yeah, think that's been covered on the thread 😁

CrowleyKitten · 07/10/2024 00:17

Neil Gaiman. I am DEEPLY disappointed in him, I thought he was one of the good ones, but those SA allegations are horrible, and his own statements about them mean that at BEST he's sexually coercive and manipulative. but in reality it's probably worse than that.

I used to think Prince Harry was a decent, down-to-earth sort who did something really good with the Invictus Games. Turns out he gazes so far into his own navel that he doesn't seem to appreciate that he's one of the most privileged people on the planet, or that slagging off your own family for cash makes you a bit of a twat.

Harry has been forced to say those things by his wife.

Proof?

MadeleineMummy · 07/10/2024 00:25

In no particular order:
Ant and Dec - northern
amanda Holden - fake
Katie Hopkins - Poor root dying and resting bitch face
Peter Purvis - procrastination
David Tennant - stared out of the TV when he was on Dr Who straight at my breasts
Katie Price - For making horse riding uncool
Vic Reeves - For never really having any proper jokes that you could laugh at

MadeleineMummy · 07/10/2024 00:26

PyongyangKipperbang · 07/10/2024 00:24

I read it in the sun and saw an programme about him on GB news.

He wore a t shirt that said some people are trans get over it and some of the usual terfs hate him now. Because he dared and stand up for trans kids as he has one that's how sick this argument has got

he's a treasure and I love him. and that's not based on fancying him. I only fancy him with the snake eye lenses. but as a person, he's so decent and caring.

Runnerinthenight · 07/10/2024 00:29

TofuTart · 06/10/2024 23:11

JK is the main reason these young people became rich and famous. Dreadful little oiks - all of them

😂

They're grown ADULTS in their thirties.
With minds and opinions of their own.
It's utterly ridiculous to say that you have to blindly agree with your old "boss" just because you worked for them well over twenty years ago when you were basically still a child!

She's not just some old boss!! They got their break in acting because of her - surely she deserved a little bit of loyalty? A little bit of respect?

And you don't have to "blindly agree with your old "boss"" - but you don't have to throw her under a bus either!

Runnerinthenight · 07/10/2024 00:34

Moonshiny · 06/10/2024 23:21

The fact remains... Joanne has a career based on professionally identifying as gender ambiguous and a male.

She's happy to play around with pronouns when it suits her bank balance and ego.

Edited

Don't you mean 'nouns' not "pronouns"??

Been really good to see the bigots out themselves on here though not liking the truth it seems aww

@Hunnymonster1
Well you're definitely not a feminist, a men's rights activist more like.

Runnerinthenight · 07/10/2024 00:35

TofuTart · 06/10/2024 23:22

This 100%! They are woke little sheeple

Anyone who doesn't agree with me can't POSSIBLY be thinking for themselves!
It's because they're woke! Sheeple!
Lol, listen to yourself.

Lol, ditto!

😂
Tatty bye then

How tedious.

PurpleSky300 · 07/10/2024 00:40

Morrissey. I idolised The Smiths so much and he was a 'marmite' character even then, but God - he went off the deep end about 10 years ago and never came back. Using his official website to platform conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxers, white supremacists... lunacy that you can barely imagine. Trying to 'target' record executives by name and smear them, then being exposed as an utter liar. Honestly, there's some teenage part of me hoping that one day, we'll be able to blame it on some kind of horrendous mental breakdown. But I doubt it.

We are absolutely not on the same page! The misogny is all yours!!

In what world is using your initials and not your full name an "illusion of being a male author"? It means you don't know the sex of the author, at least initially, and what is wrong with that? I don't see why the fuck it matters. She made her decisions re authorship names on whatever basis, and it's utterly her right to do that.

JB Gill is a contestant on Strictly. Is that also an "illusion"??? Catch yourself on!
