Good Morning from the train to Newcastle this morning 🚄. It's looking like a beautiful day out there 🌞

I've hung some washing, fed and played with the kittens, put a load on a timer, and had a quick tidy round this morning.

I'm off with dd1 to the uni open day today, with a late ish train booked home so we have some time in the city too. I'm hoping to find a market

Dd2's still asleep atm but her dad's taking her for dinner at a local pizza and burger restaurant later on, and she has plans to do some of her homework.

When we get in, it'll be a cuppa & bed for me 💤

What about all of you? 🌞

In New Zealand here, so it's evening 😊. After a very busy week at work, I've jumped into my campervan and I'm spending the weekend in a stunning part of the country, with beautiful forests, beaches and great spring weather.

CherryValley5 · 28/09/2024 08:31

I’m sitting on the sofa, watching rubbish TV and having some breakfast right now. I’ll start getting ready soon as I have a (long overdue) hair appointment. DD will hopefully be awake by the time that I’m back so we can go and grab some lunch together before taking the dog to her golden retriever meet up - I think I’m probably more excited about it than she is🤣 After that I’m meeting with my sisters and mum for dinner whilst DD heads out partying with friends. A rather nice Saturday!

Thislittlekitten · 28/09/2024 08:35

Morning all.

Having a rare lie in! Though awake mumsnetting and DS is lying next to me reading. It’s nice.

DH is going to make breakfast soon. We have a busy weekend ahead so enjoying this lull.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 28/09/2024 08:40

Good morning Lucysmam and others. Enjoy your day in Newcastle. I have had two coffees and I'm about to get dressed, stick on the washing and head to Aldi for a smallish shop. Then I'm putting mince in the slow cooker to make cottage pie. I'll get housework done at some point and dd will probably pop in with the boys.

Holibobby · 28/09/2024 08:44

Myself and DD are meant to be going on a family holiday tomorrow but she’s been poorly so just seeing how she feels when she wakes up. Fingers crossed she’s feeling ok 🤞🤞

I'm enjoying a cup of tea in bed while looking at the beautiful blue sky and autumn trees. DS already gone out for the day with the cadets, so I'll do his birthday shopping later.

DH about to heat up some croissants then we'll head to a country park with the dog while dd plays a netball match. Cottage pie and a movie night tonight. Love autumn days!

Alwaystired23 · 28/09/2024 08:53

@Lucysmam, I really do love your threads. I hope you have a great day.

I'm doing a lot of washing this morning to get out whilst the sun is shining. It's raining tomorrow and I prefer outdoor dried clothes. I'm off to NEXT then with my mum to collect a clothes order for ds birthday, who is 11 soon. Dh has taken ds1&2 for haircuts, so I'm still in bed with a cup of tea after a manic week in work. Although I did get up and the 1st load of washing is on. Might get something from m&s for tea and maybe a film.

wwyd2021medicine · 28/09/2024 09:08

Setting off for a walk around the Devil's Chimney in a bit. DD's doing their own stuff.
Dinner is chilli - currently defrosting- as need to be quick before the theatre tonight.
DH will probably find a reason to go to a supermarket as he likes supermarket shopping ❤️ and gets all the dull stuff like cans and dishwasher tablets.

LeonoraFlorence · 28/09/2024 09:13

Love Autumn days and hearing what everyone is up to! DDs 1, 2 & 3 are at tennis with DH. Two littlest DDs are cuddled up watching Bluey in our bed sharing a croissant. Today we have plans to go to country park with BIL, SIL & DNs. It has a forest, beach & castle grounds as well as parks so can easily spend an afternoon there. Going to a lovely pub for early dinner on the way back. Hoping to be back in time for Strictly which we will all watch at ours.
Enjoy your Saturday!

Good morning everyone, there’s just me up so far in our house. I’ve put a load of washing on, fed the cats and had a cup of tea in silence. Lovely.

Dh was up and out early as he’s working today and all 3 girls are still asleep along with dd17’s girlfriend and my 12yo niece who also stayed last night.

Dd17 is going to Manchester with her gf today then staying at a friend’s tonight and nobody else has any plans that I know of. My Tesco shop is due in about an hour and then I need to drop some laptops off at a colleague’s house as he’s arranged for it to be returned and I’ll probably have a brew and chat for an hour or so.

Then tonight we’re having curry for tea and dh is going to the pub with his friends for a few hours and dd20 has a friend staying over. I plan to spend a good few hours reading in peace before going to bed.

Simonjt · 28/09/2024 09:22

Good morning, I’ve got a hyrox event today, our son has rugby and my husbands got a cycling event, so we have a very carefully planned timetable so that nothing overlaps.

My mum and brother are visiting us, today they’re off out to do some touristy things on their own, this evening we’re all going out for food. As we’re busy today will probably go quite quickly, when I’ve done with hyrox if its still nice I’m going to take our daughter out so she hasn’t had a boring day of bit and bobbing between us all due to it being a busy weekend.

NoEscapingMe · 28/09/2024 09:27

Bacon and egg breakfast soon then off to collect my beautiful granddaughter (4 months). A brisk walk in the park this afternoon and lots of cuddles. Then take her back to my daughter and home for some slap and tickle with DP I hope. Well that's my plan anyhoo BlushGrin

Dogwithtoebeans · 28/09/2024 09:28

DH is finally packing the car with the hospital bags and car seat in preparation for our PFB’s arrival on Monday 😬 feels a bit like the lead up to Christmas! I have nothing left to clean so plan to remain planted on the sofa today

lucysmam · 28/09/2024 09:31

Ooh @Dogwithtoebeans how exciting! I hope all goes smoothly for you on Monday 😊

Good morning! I'm waiting at my hotel in Majorca for the transfer coach to airport. Been a gorgeous and well needed week with my dh!

Decafflatteplease · 28/09/2024 09:47

Morning @lucysmam hope Newcastle goes well. How was Durham?

I'm just doing the meal plan / online food shop ready for the week.

This afternoon we are off to a national trust place followed by a country pub tea, really excited!

Then when DC are asleep DH and I will have wine and TV as is our Saturday night routine!

ThereIsATInWater · 28/09/2024 09:53

I'm in a sweltering swimming pool watching GC1 have a swimming lesson.
I take them every Saturday morning.

Then I'll drop them home.

Pop home for a bit, maybe put a wash on the line, it looks ok at the moment and another in the machine.

Then I'm not sure, but I'm either taking GC1 to a party or taking GC2 back to their mum.

Dinner I have no clue at the moment, DH might though!

MessyNDepressy · 28/09/2024 09:56

Love these threads!

We usually have an early start on a Saturday morning as DS has football but it’s off this weekend so we’re making the most of a lazy morning. Got up around 8:30 and took the dog for a walk. We’ve just had boiled eggs, toast and orange juice for breakfast. DS is playing his PlayStation. Will go for a shower and get ready soon. DS is going to his grandparents till tomorrow so my plan is get the housework sorted, more dog walks and relax this evening with my book.

Arlanymor · 28/09/2024 10:03

These threads are lovely. Just ending a lie in after a stressful day yesterday when the clutch on my car completely went. But brilliant support from the local recovery service and the garage it’s booked into, honestly really lovely chaps who made a difficult situation that bit better.

I’m with my parents for the next few days now anyway because my Mum had her hip replaced this week, so popping into town with my Dad in an hour to get some essentials plus ingredients for me to cook a Sunday roast tomorrow as they both usually go out once a week for their lunch - I’m going to do a classic beer chicken with all the trimmings!

Rest of the day? I have a writing competition to judge and some personal admin to sort out, and hopefully some writing of my own and maybe a bit of personal pampering - sort out my nails, have a soak, deep condition my hair, etc.

ssd · 28/09/2024 10:15

Morning @lucysmam and everyone here. Good luck at the open day @lucysmam

I've had my tea and toast and some potato scones. I think the weather is ok today, we'll get out somewhere.

gingercat02 · 28/09/2024 10:21

It's a lovely day in the Toon, too, @lucysmam
I can highly recommend Newcastle as a university and a place to live.

I'm just getting ready to meet a friend from work with her 6 week old baby 👶

DH is out for the day (and night) with friends to watch football, drink beer, and watch his friends son's band.
DS is going to the match with DH and then has plans with friends.

I'm out tonight, too, so it's all a bit random today

HazelWicker · 28/09/2024 10:25

We are going to plant some seeds ready for next year. Flowers as opposed to veg. We being me and 4YO DD. DP has been away with work and is on a daytime stag do today so not back until tomorrow.

Baked cookies yesterday and doing a slow cooker stew tomorrow. Not sure what to do today! Will light the stove around lunch time as it's quite chilly, and possibly visit the garden centre before we get started so that the sun has moved round to the back for when we are out there.

Justfordipping · 28/09/2024 10:26

I went out yesterday and got some popcorn and today I’m having a Harry Potter marathon in honour of dame maggie smith.

Topsy44 · 28/09/2024 10:27

Good morning Lucysman and All.

After a busy weekend last week this one is a bit more sedate. Going to pop into town in a bit with DD to try and get her phone storage sorted out and we’ll no doubt have a bit of lunch and a coffee somewhere.

Then may stop off on the way home for an autumnal walk in the woods as weather (at the moment) looks to be that lovely crisp and bright air.

Tonight will be Strictly and something comforting and stodgy for tea!

Andnowshesatoddler · 28/09/2024 10:28

Not a lot here today - enjoying the outdoors whilst we can.
Got to get HRH feet measured and spend an obscene amount in Clarks at some point.
I fancy digging into a bag of jelly sweets and curling up with a book tonight.
