I'm talking those made for TV hallmark style Christmas films where everyone wears red and green and there's always snow!

I'm in the mood for a Christmas binge while I clear out my spare room. It's a cold bright day here so after a bit of cheesy Christmas fun!

It might not fall into that exact category but I like the Family Stone with Sarah Jessica Parker in it.

lifeisnotstraigtforward · 25/09/2024 11:06

The Family Man - have watched it every year since it was released - 20+ years. Brilliant film.

AlexandraJJ · 25/09/2024 11:15

The Family Stone here too

A Christmas Prince! And the 2 equally awful sequels.

Falling for Christmas, in which Lindsay Lohan plays a spoilt daddy's pwincess who has a skiing fall, loses her memory, and ends up becoming a normal person when taken in by the humble, failing ski lodge adjoining her father's giant hotel.

toastofthetown · 25/09/2024 11:57

I’m a fan of the Princess Switch on Netflix. I also think Christmas in Evergreen is probably the most archetypal Hallmark Christmas film.

I love Christmas At Pemberley Manor. It has all the qualities of the best cheesy Christmas movie. It's a hot chocolate and fleecy blanket on the sofa job.

Elizabeth, an event planner, arrives in a small village to organise their Christmas festival at a reluctant Darcy's historic manor.

Big fan of Last Christmas, with Emilia Clarke. Can't get much cheesier in terms of story but it is genuinely funny with it, and touching!

Family For Christmas with Lacey Chabert and Snow Globe Christmas with Alicia Witt and the one with Hayley Duff that's a Christmassy Sliding Doors type. I watch all three before Christmas if I can 🌲☃🎄❄😍

EveryOtherNameTaken · 25/09/2024 12:29

Not cheesy but a Christmas Truce (2015).

So atmospheric and, of course, a love story.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 25/09/2024 12:31

I think freeview channel 63 shows loads.
It's usually romance channel but is already Christmas romance tat. Had it on all day wfh 😂

toastofthetown · 25/09/2024 12:41

Channel 5 also have a good selection and some years I subscribe to the Prime Hallmark channel for Christmas as a treat to avoid adverts!

If you watch a lot, if recommend keeping a list of which ones you’ve watched. I only started last year because I every year I’d find a film which sounded good and only realised 20 minutes in I’d already seen it! It’s hard to tell from a description if you’ve seen a movie about a small town girl who left for the big city, and broke her Christmas tree farmer boyfriend’s heart, but she ends up coming home for the holidays and discovers the true magic of Chrismas!

Turtles4543 · 25/09/2024 12:43

Hate the Family Stone. Did enjoy Last Christmas, very cheesy.

Anonymousehole · 25/09/2024 12:45

Father Christmas is back
The Holiday
All the Christmas Prince films
Click and Collect
A Castle for Christmas
Christmas at Mistletoe Farm

I probably need to get a hobby.

cheeeesey · 25/09/2024 12:48

Prancer

crumpet · 25/09/2024 12:52

I can never remember their names. They just wash over me in a haze of snow globes, hot chocolate and ice skating.

I have a weakness though for the accidentally snowed in/big city hotshot stranded in small town America and manages to save the Christmas parade genre.

OilyTussle · 25/09/2024 13:13

A Very Nutty Christmas. Stumbled across it while I was on maternity leave and have watched it at least once every year since.

GameOfJones · 25/09/2024 13:18

I don't think you can get cheesier than The Christmas Prince films. The first one is definitely the best but they are all so bad they are good.

I watched Falling for Christmas (the Lindsay Lohan one) last year and it's great, she is genuinely funny in it and not taking herself too seriously.

PandaWorld · 25/09/2024 13:19

Any of those Christmas films they put on channel 5 from about November. I love them, so predictable and cheesy but so watchable

Karmaisac4t · 25/09/2024 13:20

Christmas with the Kranks

Hannahandlucy · 25/09/2024 13:21

Christmas with the cranks is so good and so cheesy, although not a hallmark straight to tv one. Defo worth a watch

SpinningOutWaitingForYa · 25/09/2024 13:22

Mrs Christmas
The Holiday
The Princess films on Netflix with Vanessa Hudgens
Most of the channel 5 ones 😂

Can't wait to get started!
