I wouldn’t be in the job I’m in today.

I live in a city where the pay is not good. Now because hybrid working is such a huge thing I can work in a different city.

I wouldn't have such a successful business.

watermelonsugarr · 19/09/2024 22:25

I wouldn't have had a baby... I did it begrudgingly. And now I have two!

SharpWriter · 19/09/2024 22:25

I'd still be spending hours a day commuting and I wouldn't have my dog 😪

ASpritzOfMyFavouritePerfume · 19/09/2024 22:25

Would never be in the job I love and pays me the much envied disbelieved Mumsnet 6 figure salary

ButterAsADip · 19/09/2024 22:28

Wouldn’t see DH as much as he’d probably still be going to London everyday, therefore our home life wouldn’t be as well rounded meaning we probably wouldn’t have had our delicious DC3.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 19/09/2024 22:28

Would still be in the office 5 days a week, wouldn't have my gorgeous cat & would probably have found it a lot harder to save the deposit for my flat.

NorthernGirlie · 19/09/2024 22:30

Would still be in debt. We paid off 3 overdrafts and a credit card. We save now - life changing

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 19/09/2024 22:31

Would probably have had a third child

TokyoSushi · 19/09/2024 22:32

Would still pointlessly be going into the office every day, I now permanently WFH and love it!

Neodymium · 19/09/2024 22:32

Wouldn’t be working in my job. I am a teacher and was only able to work as dh working from home meant he could pick the kids up.

minipie · 19/09/2024 22:33

Would’ve gone back to work for my old boss. Lucky escape!

Would be fitter

coxesorangepippin · 19/09/2024 22:33

We wouldn't be WFH

SabbatWheel · 19/09/2024 22:34

I would still have a crappy garden and be on antidepressants.
As it was, I had much needed time away from work shielding, got on with remodelling my garden and stepped down off the antidepressants and am in a much better place 4 years on.

Derwent01 · 19/09/2024 22:35

that the majority of the world can survive on basic industries and the rest is luxuries

Sadtosaythis · 19/09/2024 22:35

Wouldn’t have lost my Dad to it nor had to have a very limited Covid funeral for him. Not the ending or send off his very colourful life deserved.

Motherrr · 19/09/2024 22:38

I wouldn't have my partner working at home and our lives would be very different/I would have gone insane with two small children alone

FunnysInLaJardin · 19/09/2024 22:44

would have gone to Greece on holiday. Instead we had a new boiler...

schloss · 19/09/2024 22:47

Would still have a business and not be struggling to keep our home.

GiveMeVodkaPlease · 19/09/2024 22:48

Wouldn't have had such bad postpartum mental health problems

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 19/09/2024 22:49

Would be 3 stone lighter...

AgathaMystery · 19/09/2024 22:49

Wouldn’t have lost my lovely, lovely job that I just adored. I think it ended my career really. I just have jobs now.

Edited to add; I worked in emergency theatres during Covid in a massive teaching hospital. It was indescribable and I still think about a couple of patients almost daily.

ProvincialLady2024 · 19/09/2024 22:50

Would have left my husband.

HoHoHoliday · 19/09/2024 23:00

I would have had a baby, or at least would have been able to try for it by going ahead with my planned IVF in time.

JumpingJill · 19/09/2024 23:01

would still have my wonderful dad, hugely missed

cleowasmycat · 19/09/2024 23:03

I would have lost my mind commuting and working in an office 5 days a week. Happily work mainly from home now and will never go back.
