So for tv show:

When the Street Lights Go On.
Really good and equally as sad.

Films …. Maybe Creep 2004, I just rewatched it all these years later. But maybe it’s not as obscure as I think.

Heard of this on my podcast the other day, spunds great ... not sure how to watch in this country though!

@DisneyHag I remember that! Philip Quast and Jack Davenport? About vampires?

Evil is still running. Season 4 just finished

Tinga and Tucker, a children's show from the 60s. Two little koalas and various other animals, I loved it. Nobody I tell knows what I'm talking about. 🤷

Australian series. I know if it.

DisneyHag · 18/09/2024 08:16

Yes, although I’d completely forgotten Philip Quast - and he’s often trimmed out of the promotional photo.

Dempsey and Makepeace 😊

Seriously? It was very popular

FoxtrotOscarKindaDay · 18/09/2024 08:19

I was very little when First Born aired, deeply traumatising when Gor was killed. Way ahead of it's time but scenes definitely impacted for life. Always remember the music being more dramatic than it is though.

Someone mentioned Warehouse 13 which I loved, it was quirky! Also Fringe and rewatching Grimm.

warehouse 13 was amazing. just watched that recently.

FoxtrotOscarKindaDay · 18/09/2024 08:31

Children's Shows mentioned - loved Greenclaws, he grew some very strange plants.
Dogtanian & The Raccoons (best theme tune) were faves too.

Gummi Bears and Thundercats were my never misses though. Not obscure at all.

However ...

The Snorks
Simon and the Witch
Round the Twist (another great theme which was hugely popular I thought)
Eerie Indianna

None of my friends remember them

BrigadierEtienneGerard · 18/09/2024 08:31

Murder in Suburbia.

I do. Wasn't a member of the T&T Club tho'.

FoxtrotOscarKindaDay · 18/09/2024 08:34

Have all the Warehouse 13 fans also watched Eureka? If not worth the binge.

Needmorelego · 18/09/2024 08:35

@FoxtrotOscarKindaDay a few months back I was in the cinema waiting for my daughter and her pals to come out of their film and there was music playing - it was a slightly more pop version of The Raccoons theme song.
I said "OMG it's The Raccoons" out loud to myself - getting a strange look from the food staff 😂
It was like a whoosh of a memory of a programme.

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 18/09/2024 08:43

Film - Connie and Carla. I have it on DVD and love watching, and singing along. Even has a surprise guest appearance by Debbie Reynolds.
TV - Lizzie Dripping. Have now found some episodes on Youtube

Department S

redtrain123 · 18/09/2024 08:57

Mandy - film

FoxtrotOscarKindaDay · 18/09/2024 09:00

@Needmorelego I have 3 or 4 rock/metal versions of Run with Us on Spotify because Lisa Lougheeds version isn't on it ... I'd be likely to squeal if I heard it playing in the wild 🤣

diddl · 18/09/2024 09:21

There was some good stuff in the 70s wasn't there?

Onedin Line, Poldark The Mayor of Casterbridge, When the Boat Comes in!

jonnyjanetkeogh · 18/09/2024 09:50

Anyone else remember Point Pleasant? It was pretty awful but so addictive to watch. Or what about American Gothic? "Someone's at the door, someone's at the door..."

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 18/09/2024 09:54

@redtrain123 I remember Mandy. Old black and white film about a deaf girl.

I was gutted that Point Pleasant was cancelled!

Round the Twist and Simon and the Witch I definitely used to watch. I don't remember the Snorks or Eerie Indiana.

It doesn't seem to take a lot for children's tv programmes to be largely forgotten. There were quite a lot of 'family' shows that we used to watch (as in early evening rather than Saturday morning). If I mention them to friends, mostly I draw a blank. Super Gran was a favourite, or Due South. And kids' shows like Willo the Wisp, The Trap Door, Bertha, Jimbo, Family Ness seem to be mostly very distant memories, although I'm sure all my friends watched them.

That film is very powerful, maybe I'm older than you or it was just my friends but it was a must see when I was younger. I wonder if it's stood the test of time. I almost dont want to check in case it hasnt

It's a classic!!

I loved American Gothic, still have it on DVD. Sarah Paulson was Merlyn Temple

Clockwise film is a study of a time when the roads were quieter , the trains were British Rail and life seemed a lot simpler ( although if he'd had a mobile phone , it would have been easier for him all round !)
A lot of those type of films are rarely on tv anymore. Too old I guess
Dancing Queen with Rik Mayal is a similar kind of film

Clockwise, agreed - I’ve seen a ridiculous amount of times for what it is.

A Fish Called Wanda, similar thing, they put it on when nothing else is on. Late night BBC2 was the place to see the real gems.

Anyone remember the Zoe Wanamaker and Adam Faith show? I remember my grandparents watching that one every week.
