I'm just about to finish my first cuppa of the day. The washer's on already, the load I put on a timer's ready to go out, & I've woken dd1 who has work - she had alarms set but must have gone back to sleep 🙄

Dd's just in the shower. It's a race day so she's working til the last race & will be knackered when she's finished.

I'm off to town with dd2 who needs some sort of trousers to wear. She has a pair of black flares she likes to wear allll the time but we can't find them 🤷‍♀️

I'll tidy round the kitchen, pop another wash on, and put away yesterday's washing before we head out. I might look for some work trousers too while we're out.

This evening, I'm off to a friends house for drinks & a catch up. She's doing roast chicken baguettes for tea & I'll probably pick up a couple of bottles of Koppaberg or similar to drink.

Not sure what they'll have here, probably something easy.

I'll be in for a brew & bed by ten 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Working, boo hoo

FortunataTagnips · 14/09/2024 08:42

Morning, @lucysmam !
I’m loafing on the sofa with my first cup of coffee. DD is playing upstairs and DP is pottering in his studio.

When DD’s carers get here at 11, DP and I will scoot down the road for elevenses at our favourite cafe, and then he wants to go to Hobbycraft to spend his birthday voucher - many, many tiny pots of model paint!

We’ll probably grab something light to eat while we’re out and have a proper meal with DD this evening once the online shop arrives - not sure what yet.

No real plans for this evening beyond possibly bubble bath with my book!

lazyarse123 · 14/09/2024 08:45

Youngest son has just bought his first flat and got the keys yesterday and he said it's filthy so we're all going to get our first look and help him clean.
DD is coming too and has offered to help today and tomorrow.
Other son does not have a good relationship with cleaning and has offered to help with the move.
We are downsizing now that everyone's just about gone so some major decluttering will be going on.
I am retiring in two weeks so things are really changing.

JingsMahBucket · 14/09/2024 08:49

Morning @lucysmam and everyone! We’re heading to a seafood festival today and I’m going to eat my weight in oysters and fried fish. I need to shift my ass though because our friend will be here in an hour to pick us up. I still need to eat breakfast and shower!

Simonjt · 14/09/2024 08:51

Good morning, we’ve had a busy week, my husbands been away with work, we’ve had three birthday parties, two rugby matches, and a dance show, so we’re going to have a fairly lazy day at home I think.

I do have a hyrox session later, but I’ll see, I might give it a miss to stay at home with everyone and do it on my own early tomorrow morning.

I hope everyone has a nice saturday

Onthegrid · 14/09/2024 08:52

My day is already onto early evening, I have had a retail therapy day followed by a late pizza lunch. It is Spring here and today has been cold and wet so the indoor mall was very busy.

jellybe · 14/09/2024 08:52

Just having a quick sandwich before heading to bed as was on shift last night. Kids are having breakfast and DH will be taking them out soon so I have a peaceful few hours 😊

JLT24 · 14/09/2024 08:54

8 months pregnant and beyond shattered. Luckily managed to get all my chores and errands done this week so can have a lazy day today!!

Currently watching a documentary and having a smoothie. DH just left to go to football and he’ll be back for dinner

Friend coming round at 12 for lunch so I’ll spend some time preparing that beforehand and then we’ll have a good catch up

Probably an afternoon nap

Making a stew for dinner and planning to watch Netflix series in bed with DH!

HopsiclePopsicle · 14/09/2024 08:54

I've just finished my breakfast. DH has popped out to park run so will be back when he's finished that. Dd is supposed to be getting dressed and then doing her homework. She has a birthday party later on. We'll take the dog for a walk while she's at that. I'm doing lamb curry and tarka dal for dinner. It is a glorious day here ☀️

ViciousCurrentBun · 14/09/2024 08:54

Going to choose new glasses, DS GF is coming with me and then were going to lunch. All having dinner together tonight and then I have managed to get hold of a horror film on DVD I watched many years ago called Mama. DH hates horror films but has said he will watch it with me, I usually watch them by myself.

yesornothatisthequestion · 14/09/2024 08:55

@JingsMahBucket interesting you mention oysters. My 6 year old is DESPERATE to try oysters and has been banging on about them for weeks. I've never tried them and I'm as certain as certain can be that he wont like them. Do you have any tips for us to try them for the first time? Best to go to a restaurant perhaps?

Sun is shining in Cornwall today and we are off to football training this morning and then DS has a bounce party this afternoon. It will be a shame to spend the afternoon indoors but DS is very excited so that's all that matters. I'm personally counting down to bedtime so I can carry on watching Killing Eve. A recent discovery for me and I am obsessed!

Iamnotaloggrip · 14/09/2024 08:56

Morning all.

I’m taking DD to her gymnastics class this morning then she’s got a party this afternoon. DS and DP are going to watch the football (after hopefully doing homework 🙄) Not sure what’s for tea yet, then we might watch a film.

Have a good day everyone!

MoreIcedLattePlease · 14/09/2024 08:58

Good morning, @lucysmam! Nice to hear about your lovely day, I know it's odd, but I find tales of complete normality (as in, you're not off on some wild event every weekend) so comforting.

DH and I are up having had our second cuppa, this is a first for us for a weekend! We are having our shower replaced so we had to be up early. Now sat listening to that and waiting to pounce on tickets to Six as soon as they go on sale for DDs birthday. DS1 is asleep (through the noise!) and DS2 is on his new PC that he got for his birthday this week. We'll only see him for food today! Grin

Once I've nabbed tickets, I'm taking DD to horse riding, and then dropping her at a friend's house to play for the afternoon. I will phone DM and catch up and try to get some lessons ready for the week ahead, DH is studying.

Then it's spag bol for tea tonight and catching up with Monday's Only Connect and possibly a film and face mask with DD.

We need to have a bit of a deep clean and tidy of the house tomorrow as it's descended into a bit of a state, but no point today because of the dust!

Wwyd2025 · 14/09/2024 09:00

Morning!

Just sat in bed with a cup of tea waiting for everyone to wake up, it's been a long week and we're all shattered!
Off to the garden centre in a bit to get some onion sets for our allotment and do a bit of food shopping. Then maybe pop up to the allotment to do a bit more digging/plant onions depending on what dc want to do.
Afternoon I need to finish off tidying up our garden done a few tip runs this week so just need to sort the last few bits out that need to go.
Then a nice chilled evening with a home made curry! Grin

Goneback2school · 14/09/2024 09:03

I'm still in bed but will need to get up soon to bring dd to her piano lesson. Dh and ds are about to leave to go to ds's football match. Afterwards we will need to do some housework and shopping and I will go see my parents around the corner if they are in.

Justonedayatatime11 · 14/09/2024 09:08

Up at silly o clock to drop DD at the yard as she has a show tomorrow and wants to give her pony a full on spa day 🤦🏻‍♀️. No doubt so the little sod can go out tonight and roll in the mud!

I need to put the rest of the summer clothes away in the loft, try and organise the spare room so I can actually get in it and convince DH that he really wants to make pie for tea.

Strictly tonight and then a very early night so we can be up again at stupid o clock tomorrow morning to spend the day stood in a field. Argh.

hangupyourboots · 14/09/2024 09:12

Morning I'm going to Dublin for the night
So heading to airport soon
I've never been to Ireland before so really excited

FayKnights · 14/09/2024 09:16

Morning @lucysmam and the Saturday morning gang!
I’m still in bed with a cuppa, but need to get moving and into the shower as meeting a friend for coffee.
Busy week at work, so I plan to have a nice weekend of pottering, dog walking and catching up on washing.
Have a great day all 😁

Forevermermaid · 14/09/2024 09:21

Morning all - can I join in? 😁

Just taken DS2 to football training and now having some breakfast. Will pop in and see best friend for a cuppa before collecting him at 11am.

Then all out at lunchtime to meet up with my DP and his DC, having a lovely walk and then may try out some of the open heritage events going on nearby. All will be back at mine for tea and some games tonight. Being all together and seeing the kids all enjoy each others company brings me so much joy 😍

And it's a lovely sunny day too!

Thislittlekitten · 14/09/2024 09:23

Morning all.

Sat trying to have breakfast but ddog is in major hassling mode Dcats are snoozing. DD is at a sleepover but will be home soon. We are meeting family for a walk later.

DH and DS playing games. Nice quiet morning after a busy week. No big plans this weekend but we do want to sort through some clutter. I have some online training to fit in too.

StandOnTheHorizon · 14/09/2024 09:24

Morning!
Sitting in the sunshine finishing off my tea and the cat is making his way over for a lap cuddle. I’ve already been out and dropped DD in to town, so enjoying the peace and quiet.

Today’s mission is to tidy up my office/dumping ground and get a handle on Mount Washmore, then menu plan for the week. Will probably go for a walk later on too. I do love a pottering around and catch up day.

Oh, the cat’s dropped his ball in my lap, so obviously wants to play! Catch you all later.

DilemmaDelilah · 14/09/2024 09:28

Good morning @lucysmam . We got back from our short break at Butlins yesterday so it's back to normality today.

We are getting rid of our very battered Suzuki grand vitara on Tuesday, getting a Nissan Leaf electric car instead, so we are making full use of it this weekend by going to the churchyard where my grandmother and her parents are buried, down some very narrow country lanes with big ditches, on the edge of Dartmoor, while we still have a 4x4 that we're not worried about getting scratched. I go there a couple of times a year, to ensure she's not forgotten. I was just talking about her to my husband yesterday, saying how lucky we 'children' were to have her in our lives. She is the person who taught me about wildflowers and animals, who took us for walks, and to the museum etc. My mother was working and had neither the time nor the energy!

My childhood was over 50 years ago now, so quite different from that of modern children, but I like to hope that my own grandchildren will remember me with as much love when I am gone.

We will pop into Waitrose for some flowers on the way - I usually like to get a pot of something bright for her, living plants rather than cut flowers. And on the way back we will stop for steak and kidney pie at a small cafe just outside Okehampton that does simply the best home made pie you can imagine!

We will both be exhausted by the time we get home, so I expect we will both have a nap and tonight's evening meal will be leftovers from yesterday's curry takeaway.

Tomorrow will be catching up on the laundry from our little holiday.

everymeeveryyou · 14/09/2024 09:32

Been to the gym and am now waiting for DD to get ready so we can move her into her Uni accommodation.
We live overseas so I have flown over to the U.K. with her and will be spending the rest of the day buying everything that we couldn’t fit into her suitcases.

Andnowshesatoddler · 14/09/2024 09:33

We've been up since 5am daughter has got absolutely everything out in the living room and having a lovely playful time.

Husband and I are looking at each other in a cross between isn't this lovely and how is it only 930?!

Need to do a bit of shopping later and pick something lovely up for tea.

Happy Saturday all.

Roystonv · 14/09/2024 09:34

Put a load on. Emptied dw and put away. Pouring again today in Cumbria (does it ever stop). Got to take dh for a cataract check about an hour away then on the way back divert to pick up an order (ok, it's a Christmas present!). Lazy rest of day but do have to sort car insurance renewal and reseal the bath (sealant is my enemy so wish me luck.
