Just tell DS to try and move to a blue state and he'll be fine. Barring that, move to a blue pocket in a red state if he can.

Even when Harris wins, it's a good thing to remember that each state makes its own laws. So even with a Dem POTUS and/or a Dem majority in the US Congress it's still possible to be living in a 'Trumpland' if you move to a red state. Federal law may mitigate some of the insanity, but not completely.

I felt safe and secure in my solid blue state throughout the Trump years. But I wouldn't have felt safe and secure in certain states even during the Obama years.

Fortunately he will be in a very, very blue state so that's something. I just wish the previous government hadn't upped the amount needed in savings to bring over a partner to the UK - he had the old amount but is short of the new.

@AcrossthePond55 not CA but still very very blue. With a good support network from his partner's parents, who absolutely love him. I know he'll do fine, I'm just being a worried mum whose DS is moving to the other side of the world in a year's time. I don't have a legal obligation to be rational about it.

And specifically which late show's (or shows') coverage? I tend to think their audiences are pretty baked in, i.e. you're not turning on Seth Meyers or Kimmel etc. if you're not sympathetic to their viewpoints.

I admit to laughing at Trump's cat/dog outbursts but now the truth behind the false reports and the open racial incitement is just horrendous - as it was here in the UK in July/August, amplified by similar groups (and Russian bots)

The next few weeks are going to be dominated by more and more of this crap. Which community/marginalised group is next on Trump's hit list? And it will be taken to extremes by the KKK/Proud Boy followers and associated scum morons. Meanwhile Trump pretends he doesn't know anything about any of it. If it gets as far as Nov 5th without a serious incident it'll be a miracle. It seems likely that these groups /individuals will actively disrupt voting on the day (particularly in the swing states), lie about perceived cheating in close run areas to whip up protest and make people fearful of voting and then report made up results via social media to influence behaviour at the counting locations whilst MSM still observes the usual reporting moratorium until west coast polling closes. And that's before corrupt election officials get their chance!

I can't see how Trump is going to accept any result that isn't him winning.
