I'm NE England. Heating has been on today. Really nippy here. I am coming down with a cold though so may be feeling colder than usual. Dh said it's cold too though.

Where are you if it's gone on?

Nottinghamshire, the heating has gone on tonight. Proper chilly.

DoloresDelEriba · 12/09/2024 21:53

Hampshire. Proper chilly. 6 degrees. It’s on 👍🏻

DeathMetalMum · 12/09/2024 21:57

On here too NW England. Only this evening for an hour it's supposed to be down to 5c tonight. I staved it off this morning even though smart meter said it was 16c in the living room. The sun eventually came out and it got to 19c but other rooms were v cold so I put it on.

Last week I was having the windows open wide until I came to bed as the house was too hot. Now I've got the winter bedspread on top of the duvet. Such a jump in temperature.

Sarah2891 · 12/09/2024 21:57

South East here and yes I've had the heating on, it's set to come on automatically below 20.

LivelyGoldOrca · 12/09/2024 21:58

Essex… too cold in the house

catwithflowers · 12/09/2024 21:59

Northumberland. The log fire is on 😳. And not for the first time this month!

Skate76 · 12/09/2024 21:59

Worcestershire, heating on for a couple hours this morning and log burner on this evening, it's windy as well as cold here!

catwithflowers · 12/09/2024 21:59

We had hailstones here this morning. And then sunshine. And then cloud and cold 🥶

Lost77 · 12/09/2024 22:01

We are Midlands, have lit the fire a couple of times.
Our heating kicks in whenever the temp drops below 17 in the house and it was on when we woke up the other day
Agree, it's gone super chilly on and off this past week

gingercat02 · 12/09/2024 22:03

NE too, I put mine back on the timer today. It's been on for the odd hour or 2 up to now

78Summer · 12/09/2024 22:05

This evening in Greenwich London.

forgotmyusername1 · 12/09/2024 22:05

Not yet but the oodie is on.

HowAmITheCatsGranny · 12/09/2024 22:11

NE Scotland.. had it on for an hour in the morning so I wasn’t shivering getting ready. Currently in bed with a hot water bottle!
Next week is meant to be milder though.

MangoAndLimeNandos · 12/09/2024 22:13

Ours kicked in with the settings left over from the end of winter - so it’s been kicking in when the house gets below 15.5C. I’ve just changed the settings now because I don’t want to be using the heating yet - thanks for the prompt

Discombobble · 12/09/2024 22:14

Northern Isles - smart thermostat has clicked on the last 2 mornings

MrsMagoooo · 12/09/2024 22:15

East Angular, lit the fire tonight.
Hot water bottles in the beds.

JoanThursday · 12/09/2024 22:18

North Yorkshire - thermostat was reading 15C in the hall. I've lit the fire too.

hellywelly3 · 12/09/2024 22:22

Yeah I put mine on. I usually try to hold off a bit longer but it was bloody freezing this evening

hellywelly3 · 12/09/2024 22:22

North Yorkshire

17CherryTreeLane · 12/09/2024 22:25

Central Scotland and not put it on yet. It's set to 16, but the sensor is in the warmest room in the house. It's definitely been chilly, but nothing some cosy socks and an extra layer can't fix.

I've just ordered a delivery of logs though, as expect we'll need them very soon!

mum2jakie · 12/09/2024 22:26

West Midlands. Grey, cold and damp here. Heating has gone on!

Evenstar · 12/09/2024 22:27

North West, chilly tonight going down to 3° according to the weather forecast

It is very early in September to need heating.

24hoursfromtulsa · 12/09/2024 22:28

Just the fan heater this evening, hasn't been cold enough for central heating yet. London

Aproductofmyera80s · 12/09/2024 22:34

SE here, been very nippy outside but not cold enough inside to justify the heating, we’ve all still been wearing shorts and T-shirts. Was still 17 in the house , we don’t usually put the heating on unless it goes below 14..

EyeOop · 12/09/2024 22:39

Our heating only comes on automatically if it drops below 5 degrees in the hall where the thermostat is and that’s to protect the pipes. Any other times it has to be manually put on, no timers or anything and honestly it doesn’t make that much difference and we are always cold anyway so may as well leave it off.
